The aim of the present article is to draw up an analysis on the migratory dynamics of the population from the Apuseni Mountains in the Post-Socialist era. In order to accomplish this aim, we collected statistical data from two representative years, namely 1992 and 2011, which correspond to two censuses. The analysis was meant to reveal the evolution of the settlements (people who settled in the area) and of emigration, as registered in the two reference years and to identify the causes that determined the evolution of the emigration and immigration.

In order to study the dynamics of indicators of the incidence of neurotic, stress-related and somatoform disorders in the rural population of Ukraine, an analysis of statistical data of reporting forms No. 10 “Report on diseases of persons with mental and behavioral disorders” reflecting the objectively taken into account the incidence of neurotic, stress-related and somatoform disorders for 2000 - 2017 years. The analysis revealed the main features of neurotic morbidity associated with stress and somatoform disorders in the rural population of Ukraine for the period from 2000 to 2017. Thus, the primary incidence rate of neurotic, stress-related and somatoform disorders in the rural population of Ukraine for the period from 2000 to 2017 decreased by 9.11% (from 45.0 per 100 thousand of the rural population in 2000 to 40, 9 per 100 thousand urban population in 2017). The overall incidence rate of neurotic, stress-related and somatoform disorders in the rural population of Ukraine tended to gradually increase, from 259.0 in 2000 to 313.3 per 100 thousand rural population in 2017. A significant proportion of neurotic, stress-related and somatoform disorders in the structure of the incidence of non-psychotic mental disorders and the identified regional features of the dynamics of the primary and general morbidity of neurotic, stress-related and somatoform disorders in the rural population of Ukraine should be taken into account when developing organizational measures to optimize the system of assistance and prevention rural mental health disorders.

This paper aims to analyse the religious structure and its evolution in the Apuseni Mountains (Romania). Thusly, we employed statistical data from three distinct population censuses, the first one being the Austro-Hungarian census of 1880. The next one was the one in 1930, organised by Romanian authorities. Furthermore, it was the first and most important demographic census after the Great Union of 1918. The last census taken into consideration was the one in 2011, the second census of the 21st century. After obtaining the numerical data from the three censuses, we processed it using Microsoft Excel. Three tables were generated, emphasizing the numerical values and the percentages for each religion or confession for each census. The map depicting the geographic location of the study area was developed using GIS technology (ArcGis 10.3). We determined that Christians have been dominating the Apuseni Mountains and the Orthodox faith had and still has the most adherents. Likewise, the political-administrative factor heavily influenced census operations and also produced imbalances in the religious structure, especially after the 1948 abolition of the monarchy.

AbstractThe statistical data of cancer, globally, shows that India has one of the highest incidence rates of oral cancer worldwide. Early detection is extremely important as it results in lower morbidity and death rates. The present study was undertaken to assess awareness of oral cancer and knowledge of its early signs and riskfactors in the general public of rural Karnataka (India). It was also intended to educate the rural population for early detection by increasing their ability to recognize signs and risk factors. A systematic questionnaire was formatted related to oral cancer and cancer patients. A total of 267 people were randomly selected and questionnaires were distributed to 3 different rural areas of Dakshina Kannada district (Karnataka). The results were obtained and the level of oral cancer awareness in the rural population was studied.

The Hong Kong experience of emigration and immigration does not fit neatly into models of migration transition. As a city-state with a small rural population, it has exhibited different developmental characteristics from the larger Asian newly industrialized economies. Geopolitical factors have also played a key role in “patterns” of migration, such as restrictive immigration policies in receiving countries. Also significant are individual considerations of political and economic risk, as evidenced by the current rise in the emigration of skilled and professional workers prior to the return of Hong Kong to China. The author concludes that, rather than a simple turning point in labor migration, there may be multiple turning points in a complex sequence of change.

Traditionally, doctoral students in Germany have been trained under the individual guidance of their advisors. Because of recent developments, doctoral students, especially psychology students, are now being trained within organized research groups, including broad national doctoral programs, the Graduiertenkollegs. The present article documents these changes and provides some statistical data.
