This study investigated whether young children with specific expressive language impairment (SELI) learn to combine words according to general positional rules or specific, grammatic relation rules. The language of 20 children with SELI (4 females, 16 males, mean age of 33 months, mean MLU of 1.34) was sampled weekly for 9 weeks. Sixteen of these children also received treatment for two-word combinations (agent+action or possessor+possession). Two different metrics were used to determine the productivity of combinatorial utterances. One metric assessed productivity based on positional consistency alone; another assessed productivity based on positional and semantic consistency. Data were analyzed session-by-session as well as cumulatively. The results suggest that these children learned to combine words according to grammatic relation rules. Results of the session-by-session analysis were less informative than those of the cumulative analysis. For children with SELI ready to make the transition to multiword utterances, these findings support a cumulative method of data collection and a treatment approach that targets specific grammatic relation rules rather than general word combinations.

Speech-language pathologists often struggle with the differentiation of stuttering from normal disfluencies in young children. Differential diagnostic protocols are frequently used to aid clinicians in this complex clinical task. In this article the general format and criteria, clinical data collection procedures, documentation, and relative use of quantification in six protocols are examined and discussed. In a forthcoming companion article, we will discuss problems encountered with the use of differential diagnostic protocols and offer suggestions for future research and the use of these protocols.

This study aims to determine the effect of the uses of plasticine / playdough media on the creativity of young children in kindergarten Mabdaul Falah group B East Kaduara Coastal Sumenep and how much influence on children's creativity. This type of research is a Quantitative Research method of product moment correlation, because product moment correlation is method used to determine the level of relationship between two or more variables. Data collection techniques from this research are Questionnaire and Test. The location of this research was conducted in Mabdaul Kindergarten Falah Coastal East Kaduara Sumenep. The subjects of this study were group B with 17children, consisting of 5boys and 12 girls. The results showed that there was an influence of the use of plasticine / playdough media on children's creativity. This is indicated by obtaining a positive value of r work value of 0.655. Value of "r"work which is equal to 0.655 is greater than r criticism of product moment both in 95% confidence interval and 99% confidence interval, where the 95% confidence interval is 0.482 and in the 99% confidence interval is 0.606. So "r"work>"r"table and indicate that the work is significant, where there is an influence of the use of plasticine / playdough media on children's creativity. And it is also known that the value of "r"work which is worth 0.655 is between 0.40-0.70. This means that variable X (Use of Plasticine / Playdough Media) and variable Y (Child Creativity) have sufficient relationships / correlations.

The gastrointestinal microbiome is crucial for the development of a balanced immune system. Antibiotics are frequently administered to infants and cause intestinal dysbiosis. Dysbiosis, also called dysbacteriosis, is a term for a microbial imbalance or maladaptation on or inside the body, such as an impaired gastro-intestinal microbiota. The necessity of administration of antibiotics should be well thought through because of short-term adverse effects such as antibiotic associated-diarrhea. This narrative review highlights the long-term health consequences of antibiotic administration to infants and young children, including overweight, inflammatory bowel syndrome, and allergic disease.   Conclusion:  The pros and cons of antibiotic administration to infants and young children should be carefully weighed.

LOCAL WISDOM IN THE LEXICON OF RITUAL BLESSING NGAJI RASAABSTRACTThe research was distributed by the pros and cons of the Dayak community to the existence of Hindu-Buddhist Earth Segandu Indramayu (SDHBBSI) in Indramayu neighborhoods deemed heretical. The existence of a SDHBBSI community overview considered one eye turned out to have a culture that values the sublime. These values are reflected in the array-array Ngaji Rasa the rites of blessing a sense held each night Friday Kliwon as one form of prayer. As for the problems of the staple in this research are (1) the structure of the text, (2) a reference lexicon, and (3) local wisdom values contained in the Ngaji Rasa of ritual blessing. In doing research in the field, this research is limited to three text praises the ritual of Ngaji Rasa. This research was used to support the anthropolinguistic approach with a model ethnography of communication. The technique of data collection in this research is the observation and interviews, participants are not structured. The technique of data analysis is performed by doing a text structure analysis based on the praises, analyzes the reference lexicon, and uncover local wisdom values contained in the Ngaji Rasa of ritual blessing. In this study, obtained five repetitions of the lexicon, 10 isotopes are divided into three themes in the analysis of the motives of the structure of the text. Lexicon reference retrieved as many as seven, namely application, Godhead, natural, kinship, places, activities, and advice. Lexicon containing wisdom in accordance with Javanese view of life, namely the microcosm and macrocosm showed a value of harmony in the praise.

ABSTRACT Objective: To analyze the discourses on the choice of the route of delivery from the perspective of women and health professionals in a public network. Method: The methodological approach is the discourse analysis. The data collection was through interviews and the treatment of the data was based on discourse analysis. Results: The categories were: 1- Between the preference and the decision there is no choice; 2- The complexity of the choice of the route of delivery; 3- It is necessary to legitimize the choice of the woman. Final considerations: From the perspective of women in labor the route of delivery is determined by the physician and women are not proactive. The nurses' performance is timid, although their presence is fundamental for stimulating the physiological delivery and promoting the autonomy of women. It identifies the need for the physician to adopt a welcoming attitude, informing the women about the pros and cons involved in choosing the route of delivery.

Psycholinguists grapple with an ever-increasing list of control variables, in addition to any that are of theoretical interest. Some variables are subjective constructs like familiarity, concreteness, and semantic or affective connotations. Historically researchers approached these by having participants come to a laboratory and provide ratings for each stimulus, but the use of the Internet in data collection has increased in recent years and is likely to continue doing so. In the context of stimulus norms, the equivalence of lab-based and Internet methodologies has not been extensively examined. We discuss some of the pros and cons of online stimulus norming and touch on several issues to consider. We also highlight some important differences between norms obtained online and those obtained in-person.

At the end of his book, ‘Last Child in the Woods’, Louv (2005, cited in Kellert, Heerwagen &amp; Mador, 2008, p.154) stated “it is evident that we are at a turning point in history where opportunities for children to explore the natural world, until recently taken for granted, must now be intentionally created”. This statement was intended to communicate to the general<br />public a disturbing reality – the growing disconnect between children and their local, natural environments. Sorin (2004) explains that children, particularly young children do not always have the words to describe what they see think or feel. Collage, an arts-based methodology has been found to reflect the ways in which our worlds are experienced (Butler-Kisber &amp; Poldma, 2009). This paper explores a researcher’s investigation of young children’s (7-9 years) ‘special places’- better known as place attachments, using a qualitative, arts-based methodology. Methods of data collection and analysis will be discussed, as well as results that highlight the potential of the Arts to be used as research tools.
