Samples were selected based on purposive sampling technique and sample criteria. An instrument, the first tool included demographic characteristics Similarly, second instrument used for knowledge assessment. After pre-test assessment, a teaching session was held at the seminar room, college of nursing SGPGIMS Lucknow, India. Subsequently post assessment was held after intervention.  A total of 40 participants responded to the study. Demographic variables like 30(75%) participants had less than 22 years of age, 22(55%) were girls, 14(35%) families income found INR 10000-15000, and the majority of participants obtained COVID-19 related knowledge from news paper16(40%). A gender was found significant with pretest knowledge, and other variables weren't found significant (P=0.05). Knowledge mean & standard deviation in pre & post-intervention, 11.90±2.16 vs15.82±1.39. The mean difference was found in a pre-test & post-test-1 &post-test-2, 3.9, 5.02, & 1.1, respectively. The effectiveness of the training program was checked by paired t-test -10.20 & -13.93, P=0.00.  The study revealed that the teaching session was efficient in the COVID-19 program among BSc nursing students.

Nurses are on the front line of the healthcare system and should, therefore, have the evidence-based knowledge to manage breastfeeding. The objective of this study was to assess the attitudes and knowledge about human lactation among a group of nursing students. An anonymous online survey was sent to all College of Nursing students at a local university in Kentucky. Nursing students participating in the survey favored breastfeeding over formula feeding for infants. Lack of knowledge and various misconceptions about breastfeeding were reported. Whether a nursing student has or has not completed a class about human lactation during the nursing program, and has had or not had children, significantly influences their attitudes and knowledge toward breastfeeding. Future studies should focus on identifying if nursing faculty members and nursing students recognize human lactation as a value and central knowledge for nurses.

The objectives of this descriptive and quantitative study were to identify and assess the level of knowledge of undergraduate nursing students concerning factors related to the sexually transmitted disease, Human Papillomavirus (HPV). A questionnaire was administered to 58 undergraduate nursing students at the University of Sao Paulo at Ribeirão Preto, College of Nursing. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics through the Epi Info software. Results revealed that 46.6% of the participants are sexually active; 96.3% reported safe sex with the use of condoms, though 29.6% of them do not use one regularly. Regarding the forms of transmission, 69% reported knowing them, while only 20.7% reported knowledge of HPV's signs and symptoms. Additionally, 54.3% of the adolescents reported not knowing what HPV can cause. Background: Mind maps are highly effective visual aids that enable students to group together different ideas and enable teachers to present ideas visually and assess their students’ conceptual development and understanding. The present study was to assess effectiveness of mind mapping technique vs lecture method regarding psychological test on knowledge among nursing students at St. James College of Nursing Chalakudy. The study included 50 first year B.Sc. nursing students, 25 in lecture group and 25 in mind mapping group. Materials and methods: A Quasi-experimental non randomized control group design was adopted and nonprobability convenient sampling technique was used to select the samples. Structured teaching programme regarding psychological test was administered on both group and knowledge level of the students was evaluated immediately after the teaching (‘0 day’) and 7th day to assess the retention of knowledge. Data collected by using structured questionnaire and analysed by using descriptive and inferential statistics.   Results:The study revealed that the mean post test knowledge score of students on ’0’day in mind mapping group is (13.52) higher than the lecture group (9). The calculated t value (7.66) is higher than the table value (6.06) at 0.05 level of significance. The mean of the post test knowledge of students on 7th day by using mind map score is 13.32, it is higher than mean of the lecture method knowledge score (8.80). The calculated t value is (7.92) is greater than the table value (2.60) at 0.05 level of significance. Conclusion: There for it can be concluded that the mind mapping teaching method is very effective than lecture method among the nursing student on psychological test. The study shows that mind mapping technique help the student to learn, recall, organize and make information meaningful. Background: Early recognition of oral cancer is essential for higher cure rate and better prognosis. Nurses can play a significant role in the early diagnosis of cancers. The study aimed to assess the awareness of oral cancer among nursing students. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted among Bachelor of Nursing Students at College of Nursing, B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences. A semi-structured questionnaire was used to collect the sociodemographic data and awareness of cancer. Descriptive statistics were calculated using Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 22.0. Results: Out of 116, 89 (76.7%) students were of age 21-25 years. One hundred and twelve students (96.6%) were aware that various form of tobacco increases risk of oral cancer; however, only 55 (47.4%) students knew alcohol drinking as a risk factor. Only 29 (25.0%) students were aware of loose-fitting denture as a risk factor for oral cancer. Ninety-six (82.8%) students knew white or red patch as possible signs of oral cancer; however, only six (5.2%) students were aware of the most common site of oral cancer. Only 16 (13.8%) students considered that they are adequately trained to screen oral cancer. One hundred and fifteen (99.1%) students demanded more education on oral cancer. Conclusions: This study revealed that nursing students’ awareness of risk factors and the importance of screening of oral cancer is suboptimal. It highlights a need for basic education on oral cancer to make them more aware and further competent toward oral cancer screening and referral.
