The article presents the peculiarities and trends of the implementation of peer assessment in the educational process of institutions of higher education, analyzes the view of world scholars on the changes in the theory and practice of assessing academic achievements of students in the context of emphasizing personality-oriented learning, namely recognition of the formative evaluation function through which students become not only observers of the process of evaluation by the teacher, and are involved in the use and development of evaluation criteria, self-assessment and peer assessment. The peculiarities of formative and peer assessment are analyzed, advantages and disadvantages of traditional and peer assessment are determined. Among the suggested ways to avoid the disadvantages of traditional assessment is the combination of traditional and peer assessment, the implementation of ICT tools to support peer assessment. The digital evaluation tools were analyzed and the results of the survey of teachers regarding the interest in possession of digital evaluation tools were presented, which was attended by 769 teachers from six Ukrainian partner universities of the MoPed project. The results of the survey on the use of assessment techniques and the use of digital tools for assessment, which was attended by scientific and teaching staff of the Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, were presented. The results of the survey showed that today peer assessment is used in the educational process by 15.6% of respondents, 62.3% use it in part, 22.1% do not use it. At the same time, 51.9% of the respondents are ready to use peer assessment in the educational process after a closer look at this method. According to the survey results, the digital instruments used by scientific and teaching staff in the learning process are the most popular ones: e-mail, computer tests that are checked automatically, and work with shared documents or presentations, but some resources that can be used for peer assessment, less than a third of teachers are used and their use does not always take into account all possibilities of such means.

Abstract The problem of professional training of teachers in foreign countries in terms of intercultural interaction of educational space objects has been studied in the paper. It has been stated that the current stage of human civilization development which is defined as the transition to a knowledge society, is characterized by qualitatively new requirements to the development of education. It has been noted that despite some cultural-and-historical differences in the development of Ukraine and countries of the European Union, functional similarity of national systems of teachers’professional training enables the usage of European experience in future teachers’ training. The role of teachers in the modernization of European education has been emphasized. It has been stated that in the professional training theory and practice significant experience has been accumulated which can form the basis for modernization of future teachers’ training for intercultural interaction of the educational process objects. Major trends in this area have been revealed. Scientific approaches and paradigms have been defined. Much attention is focused on the fact that a set of methodological approaches to the problem of teachers’ professional training has allowed to distinguish personality-centered and activity approaches as main ones for solving research problems. It has been noted that the reason for scientists’ special attention to the category of educational activities is the development of problems related to organizing cross-cultural educational process that helps students to get knowledge about other cultures, to determine the common and special features in traditions, lifestyle and cultural values of peoples, to bring up youth in the spirit of respect for systems of other cultures. Much attention has been paid to the concept of educational support which is a humanistic way of interaction of a teacher with students on the basis of expansion and deepening student-centered and developmental paradigm of education which is based on internal freedom and creativity of the individual, real humanism and democracy.

AbstractHostile online communication is a global concern. Academic research and teaching staff are among those professionals who routinely give public comments and are thus vulnerable to online attacks. This social psychological and criminological study investigated online harassment victimization among university researchers and teachers. Survey participants (N = 2,492) were university research and teaching staff members from five major universities in Finland. Victimization was assessed with a 20-item inventory. The study included a wide range of both background and general measures on well-being at work. Participants also took part in an online experiment involving a death threat targeting a colleague. Results showed that 30% of the participants reported being victims of online harassment during the prior 6 months. Victims were more often senior staff members, minority group members, and from the social sciences and humanities. Those active in traditional or social media were much more likely to be targeted. Victims reported higher psychological distress, lower generalized trust, and lower perceived social support at work than non-victims. Individuals who were targeted by a colleague from their work community reported higher post-traumatic stress disorder scores and a higher impact of perceived online harassment on their work compared to other victims. In the experimental part of the study, participants reported more anxiety when a close colleague received a death threat. Participants also recommended more countermeasures to a close colleague than to an unknown person from the same research field. Results indicate that online harassment compromises well-being at work in academia. There is an urgent need to find ways of preventing online harassment, both in workplaces and in society at large.

Current trends in the development of the education sector require significant changes in approaches, methods, techniques and tasks of training. The challenges that arise need to be addressed, which will make it possible to increase the competitiveness of higher education seekers after their graduation, and, as a consequence, to improve the competitiveness of the higher education institution itself. The tasks that arise are: a change in the approach to the educational process of research and teaching staff, which must consist in the interest of teachers themselves to improve the quality of educational services they provide; a change in the approach to the educational process of learners – students, listeners, cadets, etc. – that is, it is necessary to transform those who are taught into those who learn; definition of criteria for the effectiveness of education, which is obviously not only in achieving program learning outcomes. The main criteria of efficiency of educational activity are formulated in the article. These criteria are obviously not only the amount and strength of knowledge and skills, competencies and program learning outcomes. Using only such criteria, it is impossible to fully assess the current requirements for the effectiveness of education. In the conditions of market relations, economic crisis, global mental restructuring, the main criterion for the effectiveness of training of the specialist is the ability to employ him in various positions after graduation, and possibly during training. What is more important is the ability of the job seeker to self-improve and master various competencies when changing functional responsibilities. That is, a higher education student must have a wide range of competencies, not only deep ones, which will enable him to develop under certain conditions in the performance of functional duties. Such tasks make it possible to solve the use of elements of dual education, distance technology using modern technological solutions and motivation of participants in the educational process to self-development. The article concludes that the mutual combination of dual education with distance learning technologies should ultimately solve the urgent problem of training an experienced specialist with a high level of competence who will be able to perform production tasks without additional internship or training after graduation.

The article proposes a model of methodological support for the formation of entrepreneurial culture of bachelors of physical culture and sports, which represents activities aimed at choosing individual educational trajectory for students; support provided by scientific-pedagogical and methodical workers to facilitate students’ mastering of various variants of education content; control over the educational process, as well as feedback from students during and after the completion of the educational and professional program. This support should include purely organizational activities, informing students about the use of teaching tools, assistance in solving cognitive problems, as well as assistance in contacting stakeholders. At the same time, the individualization of educational algorithms, variability of time and methods of performing educational tasks, a wide choice of places to perform educational tasks, methods of communication with a lecturer, etc. come first. The future bachelor of physical culture and sports fulfills the individual curriculum due to the willingness of research and teaching staff to perform the social and pedagogical roles of a supervisor, an advisor, and a tutor, which may vary depending on the educational task. The key measures to support students’ choice of individual educational trajectories, in terms of the formation of entrepreneurial culture, are the following: ensuring the free choice of forms and methods of teaching; advising future bachelors of physical culture and sports on the free choice of forms and methods of teaching; presentation of disciplines of the sample cycle. A positive aspect of the educational professional program developed during the study, which is aimed at forming an entrepreneurial culture, is the competition between disciplines and teachers.

T he current epidemic situation in Russia and the world caused by coronavirus infection requires prompt solutions to eliminate the consequences of the pandemic in almost all sectors of economic activity. The isolation of the population from mutual contacts was one of the effective solutions to the problem. This arose the need for the educational institutions to promptly switch to a remote mode of education. Those involved in the distance learning process faced a wide range of different problems, which defines the topicality of developing the efficient measures aimed to overcome the challenges of the distance learning process. The subject of the work is the analysis of the processes arising from the sudden transition of the educational environment of the university to the distance learning format, the development of a rating model designed to grade the problems which are important for the students and which are determined by the transition to the distance learning format, and the development of directions for solving the established problems. The aim of the study is to identify the problems that have arisen from the transition to a distance learning format among the students and to develop an organizational and managerial tool to fix these problems. The study relies on the information taken from a secondary data analysis performed by the Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) and the results of their own research by the students specializing in Economics at the Institute of Economics and Management in Penza State University. The research methods included SPSS based comparative and frequency analysis. The scientific novelty of the work is as follows: 1) a rating evaluation of the problems arising from the transfer of the educational process of the university to a distance learning format in the context of a "shock" transition associated with force majeure caused by coronavirus infection has been developed; 2) University students’ satisfaction with distance learning and students’ readiness to apply the technological distance learning tools and possibilities of Moodle based electronic educational resources in the distance learning format have been identified. Statistical processing of the research results with nonparametric criteria contributes into the reliability of the findings and the recommendation. The practical significance of the research lies in the developed concept of the organizational and managerial mechanism for overcoming the problems arising from the transition to the university’s distance learning environment. This mechanism refers to the social and informational areas, reduces the time of transition to the distance learning format, and accounts for the interests and readiness of the teaching staff and students. Further research is seen to be connected with monitoring the validity of the revealed problems in their dynamics with a one semester lag.

The article deals with the research of axiological nature of the theory and practice of modern education. The problem is relevant in that education can be the key to solving the global problems of the modern world. The more popular the knowledge of people, their experience, abilities, skills, their professional and personal qualities in social development, the more important education is. Improvement and modernization of national education systems is becoming the leading direction of the sustainable development strategy of many states of the modern world. Consequently, the philosophical understanding of the educational process, in particular the definition of the values of education is relevant. The authors substantiate that, given the diversity of educational values, they can be divided into two main groups: the values of maintaining the existing order of things and the values of its transformation. In various worldview systems, the problem of the values of education is resolved in different ways. The article gives the basic ideas of representatives of such systems: classical realism, essentialism, perinalism, analytical philosophy, experimentalism, existentialism, neo-Freudianism.Analyzing the views of researchers, the authors of the article attribute free ideological self-determination to the cardinal values of education as the main mission, which provides the conditions for the free self-determination of each person in the worldview world to accept their own values in the form of life goals, main motives and interests, aspirations, needs, principles, etc.It is substantiated that the axiological guidelines of education should be associated primarily with the orientation of education towards the interests of the individual – a free, creative person, capable of self-realization. The mission of education is to find an individual approach to a person, to contribute to the realization of his personal potential, internal, unconscious, even irrational needs (otherwise this culturally unrealized potential can become destructive for both the individual and society). Thus, education should be aimed at the formation of fundamental foundations that will allow a person to solve worldview problems, make a moral, legal or ideological choice, navigate in the modern sociocultural situation. The authors emphasize that in a modern dynamic society, value-semantic variability and the influence of the accelerated development of education on the formation of social innovations are necessary. The dynamically changing conceptual field of modern educational practices, the desire and attempts to humanize education are favorable factors for the creation and implementation of the concept of modern education. The humanization of education is aimed at creating a sustainable and flexible value attitude to the world. The universal value horizon, the idea of universal values are not reflected in modern cultural practices. On the one hand, culture becomes value-oriented, its phenomena become subject to assessment, its values are structured and organized, on the other hand, obvious value pluralism, poly-paradigmalism, relativism and simplification of values as such. Thus, the analysis of theoretical studies on the value aspects of education, and the study of the possibilities that arise as a result of the humanization of education, allow us to state: only as a result of changes in the content of education in the context of its humanization it is possible to talk about the transition to understanding a specialist as a harmoniously developed personality, which is the ultimate purpose of education. The primary task is to eliminate the discrepancy between the generally accepted and declared values, on the one hand, and their implementation, primarily in the minds of participants in the educational process, on the other.
