Skin being the largest organ of the body is the reason behind the beauty and cause for confidence. Chronic skin conditions adversely affect one’s physical, functional and emotional wellbeing, thereby causing negative impact on one’s own quality of life. Due to altered lifestyle, lack of physical exercise, unhygienic, mental stress, overeating, nutrition deficiency, skin diseases are commonly observed. WHO has classified skin diseases as a Psycho-cutaneous disease. Materials & Methods 29 year old male was diagnosed with a KitibhaKushta with a clinical feature of flaky reddish white elevated skin lesions over a B/L lower limb associated with severe itching sensation and peeling of the skin since 4 years, has been treated with classical Virechanakarma (Purgation) along with Shamanaushadhis (Oral medicines). Results: After the course of treatment the patient noticed significant relief in signs and symptoms and worth documenting. Conclusion: Kitibha Kushta though it is difficult to manage, but if proper diagnosis is made at proper time many complication can be avoided. In this case study, we found significant results in signs and symptoms with Virechana followed by Shamanoushadhi and Rasayana karma. By this we conclude that various Panchakarma procedures especially Virechana Karma and internal medicines can be the best option in its management. Introduction: Skin conditions adversely affect one’s physical and emotional well-being, thereby causing negative impact on one’s own quality of life. In Ayurveda Kushta is the term used to denote different varieties of skin diseases, which includes all major skin manifestations such as Psoriasis. Kitibha kushta is one among Kshudra kushta with predominance of vitiated Vata-Kapha dosha. The clinical features are: Shyava, Kina-Kara sparsha and Parushata, which can be co-related to Psoriasis. Psoriasis is a commonly encountered chronic skin disease, regularly encountered in day-to- day clinical practice with prevalence of 2% worldwide. Methodology: The present case report is of 26 years old female, came with complaints of Scaly Patchy discoloration all over the body predominantly over Extensor surface of both limbs and face with dry crusty flakes over scalp margins associated with Itching and Blood discharge on scratching and was effectively treated with Shodhana. Result: Patient showed encouraging result after repeated Shodhana followed by Shamana aushadis. Discussion: Patient was Initially treated with Virechana, were the flare up of the condition was observed, later treated with repeated course of Vamana followed by Virechana in regular intervals, where she was observed with 75% of relief with no further episodes of recurrence. Hence, the present case study highlights the importance of repeated Shodhana (Vamana, Virechana) as mentioned in classics for the management of Kitibha Kushta.

Skin is the largest and important organ of the body .A number of skin conditions last a long time. some may start in childhood and continue into adulthood. In ayurveda the word Kushta is broad term which cover almost all skin disorder. Skin is the Largest Organ of Human Body. all the skin diseases in Ayurveda have been Classified under the broad heading of” Kushta’ which are furthur Classified in to Mahakushta and Kshudra kushta.                   Vicharchika is defined under kshudra kushta. Vicharchika is kaphapradhan vyadhi it can be correlate with eczema in modern medicine. Eczema is a condition where in patches of skin become inflamed,itchy,cracked,and rough.some types can also cause blisters. . In adults, Eczema appear anywhere, mostly Hand and foot . the affected skin may be blakish ,eruptive .In Ayurvedic terminology symptom of विचर्चिका- १)सकण्डु पिडका श्यावा बहुस्त्रावा   विचर्चिका|| “च.चि.७/२६,यो.र/भा.प्र.५४/२७ vicharchika are  1) Kandu(itching), 2) Shyavata (blackish discolouration), 3)Pidaka (erruption),  4)Bahustrava (disharge), 5)Ruja(pain), 6)Rajyo(marked lining due to thickness of lesion), 7) Rukshata (dryness). Chronic skin conditions typically aren’t curable  but  they can managed using drugs. In spite of presence of antibiotic, antihistamines, steroids etc, the skin disorder remains refractory to treatment But Ayurveda is the repository of skin remedies which are therapeutically safe and effectiveness. In ayurveda there are various drugs formulation mentioned in samhita which show significant effect on vicharchika.

Abstract:-                         Skin diseases commonly known as Dermatitis, are occurs all over the world at significant levels. The skin is most important part of the body which protects the body from various external factors.                                     In the ayurvedic literature all skin diseases were included under the “Kushtharog” which is classified in two divisions i.e. Mahakushtha and kshudrakushtha. In ayurveda vicharchika is described under kshudrakushtha. All the clinical features of vicharchika are similar to eczema in modern dermatology.                                        Eczema which is also known as Atopic dermatitis , is refers to a group of inflammatory conditions, it affects the outer layer of the skin the epidermis.characterized by dry  itchy skin, which is classified in two phase i.e. acute phase and chronic phase. Dermatitis results from a variety of different causes and has various patterns.                        In ayurveda there are many formulations for internal and topical application mentioned by the different Acharays in samhitas, which can shows significant effect on vicharchika. Methodology:-  In this case Arogyavardhini vati and Gandhak rasayan administer orally and Karanj tailam topically   given to the patient. Result:- There is significant effect on clinical signs and symptoms of patient and size of affected area. Conclusion:- In this case study combine use of  Arogyavardhini vati and gandhak rasayan orally and Karanj tailam topically was very effective in reducing signs, symptoms, and size of affected area of vicharchika. .

Skin diseases are commonly observed day by day due to altered life style, improper hygiene, mental stress, over eating and nutrition deficiency. All the skin diseases in Ayurveda have been discussed under the broad heading of Kushtha, which are further divided into Mahakushtha and Kshudra Kushtha. Kapala kushtha is a type of Mahakushtha with symptoms like blackish red skin patches, which resembles pot sherds, dry, rough, thin, wide, of uneven edges with severe pain and less itching. It can be compared to scleroderma; the first specific clinical symptoms to suggest a diagnosis of scleroderma is skin thickening. Later the skin becomes hard, shiny, leathery and hardens like a stone. This article highlights a case study of Kapala Kushtha treated with the Ayurvedic principles in particular Shodhana Chikitsa; the therapy which expels out the morbid Doshas from the body. Kushtha is difficult to cure, so it is called ‘Dushchikitsya’ but by the application of Shodhana therapy, cure of the diseases becomes easier due to removal of the root cause. Here is a case study of 67yrs/female having signs and symptoms of Kapala kushtha. The patient was admitted and managed with Shodhana Chikitsa (purification) which included Raktashodhak Ksheer Basti (medicated enema) and Virechan (purgation) followed by Shaman Chikitsa (pacification) and the results with rationality have been depicted in this article.

In recent years; there has been a considerable increase in the incidence of skin problems in the developing countries like India and tropical countries due to less immunity, unhygienic, living conditions, and nutrition. The most exposed part of the body is skin. In cosmetic point of view patient who suffers with any skin diseases leads to experience physical, emotional and socio-economic embarrassment in his/her society because mirror that reflects internal & external pathology in such diseases is skin which helps in diagnosis. In among the various skin infections tinea/ringworm is one which is spreading rapidly and affecting all the age group of population. Skin infection is termed as Twak Vikara or Kushta roga in Ayurveda. In among the Kushta Roga, Dadru termed as a Dadru Kushta. In contemporary medicine, tinea/ringworm which is skin fungal infection is correlated to Dadru Kushta due to similarities in their signs and symptoms. Large community prevalence studies have demonstrated that between 20-30% of the population have various skin problems requiring attention. Present study was conducted on diagnosed patients of Dadru Kushta in patients Moolakabeejadi Lepa was applied. The drugs used in the formulations having Kandughana, Kushtahara, Krimighna, Shodhana and Tridoshahara in their properties. The results revealed highly significant effect of Moolakabeejadi Lepa in various subjective and objective parameters like Raga, Kandu and number of Pidika, number of Mandala after treatment. During follow up period of 15 days the drug effect suggested the sustained effect on the disease.

A family doctor, as well as a sexologist, gynecologist, in his medical practice encounters problems related to skin diseases significantly affecting the sense of femininity or masculinity. An example of such an issue, especially in gynecology of developmental age, is the problem of skin changes associated with androgenization syndromes. Typical dermatological diseases are sometimes associated with enormous pain, not only physical, but also mental, resulting from the fact that skin disease processes significantly disfigure the body, lower self-esteem and significantly affect the sexual sphere. Selected aspects related to the holistic approach to the issue of pain and suffering, also related to skin lesions, are presented. This issue, like all medical fields, is a source of philosophical reflection. It is inseparable from psychodermatology. The experience of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic, taking into account skin lesions, also prompts a similar search.

In Ayurveda most of the skin diseases are explained under the term Kushtha. Shwitra is considered as one of the varieties of Kushtha in the Ayurvedic Classics, caused vitiation of Tridoshas and Dhatus like Rakta, Mamsa and Meda. The references of Shwitra are found in almost all the Samhitas like Bruhatrayees and Laghutrayees. Partial or complete loss of skin pigmentation giving rise to white patch on any part of the body is called as leucoderma or vitiligo and in Ayurveda it is called as Shwitra. This depigmentation results due to destruction of melanocytes, which may be unknown in origin or due to autoimmune endocrinopathies selective IgA deficiency. A female patient, aged 20 year suffering from white patches in neck region since 4 year was treated with both Shaman Chikitsa and Sodhan Chikitsa for a period to 4 months with follow up at every 30 days in between, Relief from the complaints was assessed by noting the changes in the size of patch. After 4 months of treatment the size of patch was reduced. The present case study revealed the efficacy of Ayurveda therapy both internal and external for duration of 4 months in the management of Shwitra.

Hemiplegia, or paralysis of one side of the body, is caused by injury or illness (for example, a stroke), and leads to other disabilities. People with hemiplegia are limited physically in their daily activities. This limitation affects their social well-being and thus can lead to depression. This paper provides a comprehensive literature review on hemiplegia in men. A single case study of a man with hemiplegia living in Hong Kong is also presented here. A critical discussion of the signs and symptoms of “male-type” depression and humanising attitudes towards men with hemiplegia follows. Critical areas in rehabilitation, social support, and developing partnerships are also highlighted. This paper intends to facilitate better understanding by health and social care providers of the needs of men with hemiplegia. Implications for clinical practice and research are likewise addressed. Further studies using multiple case studies are recommended to ensure a comprehensive understanding of hemiplegia in men.

AbstrakDesa Siruar Parmaksian Tobasa di salah satu desa yang berada di daerah Toba mengalami perubahan sosial akibat dampak negatif berdirinya PT TPL. Dampak yang diberikan mengarah kepada kaum perempuan/ibu sehingga mengakibatkan aktivitas sehari-hari perempuan/ibu menjadi terkendala. Dampak ini terjadi di setiap harinya, sehingga akan sangat berdampak buruk bagi hubungan antara perempuan dan alam. Melihat kasus tersebut peneliti ingin melakukan penelitian terhadap kondisi  yang dialami kaum perempuan/ibu tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisa dampak sosial akibat pabrik kertas di Desa Siruar Parmaksian Tobasa kepada para perempuan dengan menggunakan paradigma Ekofeminis yang di tawarkan oleh McFague dan Warren, dan dikaji dalam bentuk studi kasus. Metode penelitian yang peneliti pakai adalah Metode Studi Kasus dari Teori E.P Gintings. Ada beberapa isu yang muncul dari kasus atau masalah ini, diantaranya : dampak sosial, dampak kerusakan alam terhadap kehidupan para perempuan, dan paradigma baru relasi perempuan dan alam atau rekonstruksi paradigma. Hal ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui Bagaimana dampak sosial akibat pabrik kertas terhadap masyarakat yang berada di lingkungan  Industri Kertas di Desa Siruar Parmaksian Tobasa yang mengarah kepada perempuan yang terdampak dan Bagaimana upaya-upaya yang dilakukan kaum perempuan/ibu di desa siruar untuk mempertahankan tanah/wilayahnya yang telah di rusak oleh perusahaan tersebut?. Hasil Analisis menunjukkan bahwa  paradigma Ekofeminis sudah menerapkan paradigma dengan istilah “Konstruksionisme”, yang disebut dengan istilah metafora dunia sebagai tubuh Allah, artinya dunia harus dipahami sebagai satu kesatuan organik, tubuh Tuhan dan bisa menanamkan sikap yang menghargai dunia.Kata Kunci: dampak sosial, paradigma ekofeminis AbstractThe village of Siruar Parm testimony Tobasa in a village in the Toba area experienced social changes due to the negative impact of the establishment of PT TPL. The purpose of this study is to analyze the social impacts of the paper mill in Siruar Parm testimony Tobasa on women using the Ecofemist paradigm offered by McFague and Warren, and study it in the form of a case study. The research method that researchers use is the Case Study Method of E.P Gintings Theory. There are several issues that arise from this case or problem, including: social impacts, the impact of natural destruction on women's lives, and a new paradigm of relations between women and nature or paradigm reconstruction. This is done to find out how the social impact of the paper mill on the community living in the Paper Industry in Siruar Parm testimony Tobasa Village which leads to affected women and how the efforts made by women / mothers in Siruar Village to defend their has been damaged by the company ?. The results of the analysis show that the Ecofemist paradigm has applied a paradigm with the term "Constructionism", which is called the metaphor of the world as the body of God, meaning that the world must be understood as an organic unit, the body of God and can instill an attitude of respect for the world. Skin is the largest organ which reflects the both healthy and diseased condition of the body. According to ancient Ayurved samhitas, all the skin diseases are categorized under Kushtha roga. In modern world, skin has greater cosmetic importance leading to boost the confidence and personality of an individual as well as to attain the healthy mindset. The morbid condition of the skin should be treated earlier as it may attain Krichrasadhya or even Asadhya avastha also. Ancient Acharyas have been explained in detail the Panchakarma accompanying with variety of Shamana aushadhis and Sthanika chikitsa to treat the Kushtha rogas. In the present case study, a 37 years old female patient having symptoms resembling to Eka kushtha was treated with combine use of ancient Ayurvedic treatment protocols viz., Nidana parivarjana, Shodhana chikitsa, Shamana aushadhis and Sthanika chikitsa together with Pathyapathya. The assessment of Lakshanas was done by using WHO guidelines for Kushtha. This comprehensive approach of Ayurveda to treat the Eka kushtha helps to achieve the significant relief in symptoms of the patient.
