Background. Young NEETs (young people who are not employed and do not attend any educational or training program) have become a real concern at EU level. Financial-professional assistance programs have been in place for almost a decade, but their number is constantly growing, and those over the appropriate NEET age group are joining the unemployed and social workers [13; 14, p. 27]. We proposed a behavioral optimization program by developing personality superfactors from the Big Five model, as they were conceptualized and described in the ABCD-M Questionnaire [12]. Method. The longitudinal study involved 24 young people, aged between 23 and 26, belonging to theNEET category. Results. Following the participation in the psychological intervention program for optimizing the behavior, the young people registered significant increases of the personality factors.

Premise. According to research, Self-actualization, as conceptualized by Maslow and taken over by the creators of the Big Five Personality model, has strong links with psychological well-being and life satisfaction. Facet descriptors are also a valuable guide for developing a personal development program for young people in the NEET category. In the doctoral research we proposed a behavioral optimization program by developing personality suppressors from the Big Five model, as they were conceptualized and described in the ABCD-M Questionnaire [5]. In this article we present the results obtained for the Selfactualization and its facets. Method. The longitudinal study involved 24 young people, aged between 23 and 26, belonging to the NEET category. Results. Following the participation in the psychological intervention program for the optimization of the behavior, the young people registered significant increases of the Self-actualization Surface and its facets, except for the Deepening.

The burnout syndrome, which affects many healthcare workers, has recently attracted wide interest due to the severe repercussions related to its effects. Although job factors determine its development, not all individuals exposed to the same work conditions show burnout, which demonstrates the importance of individual variables, such as personality. The purpose of this study was to determine the personality characteristics of a sample of nursing professionals based on the Big Five model. After having determined the personality profiles, we aimed to analyze the differences in burnout and engagement based on those profiles. The sample was made up of 1236 nurses. An ad hoc questionnaire was prepared to collect the sociodemographic data and the Brief Burnout Questionnaire, the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale and the Big Five Inventory-10 were used. The results showed that the existence of burnout in this group of workers is associated negatively with extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness and openness to experience, and it is associated positively with the neuroticism personality trait. These personality factors showed the opposite patterns with regard to engagement. Three different personality profiles were also found in nursing personnel, in which professionals who had a profile marked by strong neuroticism and low scores on the rest of the personality traits were the most affected by burnout.

The purpose of this study was to find out whether songs (with lyrics) of various genres had any effect on the thoughts (cognitive), feelings (affective) and actions (conative) of young adults with varied personality traits. This study further examined which personality factor was more associated with thoughts, feelings and action tendencies generated through songs of various genres. A sample of 60 young adults (30 boys and 30 girls) of age group 18-27 years, pursuing graduation and post-graduation degrees from Amity University, Lucknow campus were selected. Tools used were Big Five Inventory (by John & Srivastava) and a 4-point Cognitive, Affective and Conative (CAC) scale (developed by Authors). Findings provide insights about the significance of music as media in day-to-day lives of young adults, particularly on their cognition and the amount of affect based on their personality factors. The time phrase i.e. young adulthood, what has been called the most crucial age, needs to be exposed to such music which does not only prove to be a source for chills and enjoyment but also which fosters its well-being.

The theory of the five great factors of personality (Big Five theory) is currently considered to be the best at explaining the most individual variability in terms of personality factors between subjects. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the Big Five personality traits and the recent social context, and to determine whether social support can act as a moderating factor in the process. While previous research has established that personality traits are significant predictors of well-being, the extent to which the big five personality traits influence social well-being remains unknown. This research paper employs a qualitative method based on a deductive research approach, as the author used deductive logic to predict the big five model personality traits in a recent social context. Five personality traits were found to be significantly related to the overall social context and social support functions as a determinant in the relationships between extraversion/agreeableness/conscientiousness/neuroticism/openness and social context. Numerous studies now concur, and there is a high degree of consensus in the literature regarding the Big Five theory as a useful theory for identifying and describing the major general factors of personality.

In this paper we present key statistics on the labor market of Greece and the Eurozone over the crisis period 2009-2014, with particular emphasis given to youth and longterm unemployment and its consequences. Statistics on the previous occupations of the unemployed, methods used for seeking work and type of employment sought are also presented. Used data reveal that the change of the working-age population in Greece during the crisis follows a U-shape over age with a greater decline occurring in the 25 to 29 years age group as a result of high emigration of the young age group attributable to the decline in economic activity. Greece suffers from unprecedented and socially unacceptable rates of unemployment with the youth and long-term unemployment rates being even more alarming and worrying as they may have such devastating and long-term debilitating effects on young people that have been called ‘scarring effects’. Those scarring effects on young people are interpreted in the literature’ in terms of two factors, the first factor relating to the depreciation of their human capital and readiness to work and the second relating to the so-called ‘unemployment stigma’.

Egoism is a personality trait that is associated with self‐enriching and self‐centred behaviours. Research has suggested that egoism lies beyond the Big Five personality factors. Recently, the HEXACO model of personality has been proposed as an alternative to the Big Five model. In three studies, the relation between the HEXACO Personality Inventory and egoism, conceptualized using three different questionnaires (DPQ Egoism, SPI Egotism and the Egoism Scale), is investigated. In all three studies, the HEXACO Honesty–Humility factor scale was the most important predictor of egoism. Additionally, in two studies in which FFM measures were used, the HEXACO Personality Inventory explained more variance in egoism than did the FFPI (Study 2) and the NEO‐PI‐R (Study 3). The aim of the present study was designing a local standardized questionnaire for evaluating traits of personality, following the Big Five model. The questionnaire was built for applying in organizations and to resist social desirability. The theoretical background used in the construction of the questionnaire were part of the Big Five model for personality evaluation. The methods used in this study were specific to the construction and primary validation of a questionnaire: defining the factors, designing the items, verifying the content validity (expert testing). The constructed questionnaire was completed by 524 subjects from the general population. The results confirm the existence of five personality factors, as defined by the authors: sociability, incertitude, persistance, altruism and openness. These factors correspond to the 5 factors described in speciality literature. The study also analyzed the relations the five factors have with significant traits of personality measured by other psychological questionnaires which were applied along with our questionnaire (introversion - extraversion, emotional stability - neuroticism, originality, efficiency, conformism). We also described the differences between the scores for the five factors depending on age, gender, studies and income.
