The article raises the problem of search for new ways to develop musical pedagogical direction in modern conditions of higher education reformation. Based on his own experience and opinions of respected researchers, the author concludes about its crisis. Subsequent changes in higher education against the background of informatization and globalization can regarded as a series of formal procedures that regulate the relations of participants in the educational process, that is, as a process of formalization. The author considers the concept of “formalization”, shows the options for its use in modern science and practice, special attention is paid to issues of formalization in the field of humanitarian knowledge. Formalization as a way of knowing the surrounding reality and as mechanisms of perception and archiving social information has always existed. A striking example of this is the emergence and development of the art of music. Formalization occupies a special place in the culture of modern society, as it serves as a mechanism for limiting high information pressure. The general computerization observed today in society, as well as the tendency to create algorithms and technologies in all areas of knowledge, inevitably affect the organization system of the learning process in higher education institutions. As a result – the emergence of some formalized pedagogical systems, such as score-rating system of evaluation of the results of training of students. The musical pedagogical direction, which differs from all other areas of higher education primarily its focus on musical art, is most difficult to follow new trends. However, according to the author, it is precisely the understanding of what is happening, as well as a look at formalization from a position of creation that will help to find new opportunities for the development of musical and pedagogical education.

In this work, the problem of the crisis of higher education in the world educational process is actualized. The significance of this problem demanded from the author a comprehensive analysis of the literature, which reveals the essence of the phenomenon under study. The paper speaks of the inappropriateness of the representation of the higher education system as being in deep crisis. The characteristic features of modern society are revealed, which testify to the opposite. The role of higher education is presented as the main source of the development of intelligence, the intellectual potential of a person, outside of which scientific and technological progress would be impossible. It is argued that there is no crisis in the higher education system, there are permanently arising contradictions (the driving forces of the development of nature, society and man) that require their systemic resolution. The need to improve the psychological, pedagogical and methodological culture of a teacher of higher education as significant components in the structure of their personality is noted

Freedom, autonomy and responsibility are the ends of every educational process, especially in the modern society: globalized, rapid, in transformation; society in which each one of us is called to make numerous choices. Therefore, it is urgent to educate to choose and educate to the choice, so that young people can emancipate themselves from possible conditionings. To this end, the Montessori method represents a privileged way: child is free to choose his own activity and learns "to do by himself" soon; the teacher prepares the environment and the materials that allow the student to satisfy the educational needs of each period of inner development. Then, Montessori gives importance to adolescence because it is during this period that grows the social man. Consequently, it is important to reform the secondary school in order to acquire the autonomy that each student will apply to the subsequent school grades and to all areas of life

Violence and aggression has become common phenomena in modern world, they include almost all fields of social life. The reflection of problems the society copes with, is visible in the way of perceiving the educational values by pupils and their behaviour at school. The nature of the educational process organised by school is mainly the interactions among teachers and pupils and pupils themselves. They are not always the best. The anxiety among guidance counsellors and psychologists raises the fact that the cooperation rule and mutual help are replaced by the rule of dominance, extortion and force. The cases of ignoring the teacher's orders are more and more common, lack of respect towards the teaching staff, humiliating adults and vandalism. Pupils battle against teachers and peers too. The school hall is a kind of arena of undesirable behaviours. Therefore, the school as an institution in which children and young people spend 1/3 of their time during the day, should not only deal with teaching but take an active part in the implementation of activities in the field of broadly understood prevention and upbringing. Therefore there are challenges in front of the school aiming at stopping, limiting or even eliminating negative behaviours from children's and teenagers' lives.

RESEARCH INTO BOOKS AND THEIR TYPES IN POLAND AFTER THE SECOND WORLD WARThe paper presents an overview of research into books and their types conducted after the Second World War by Polish bibliologists. The scholars were interested mostly in academic books, popular books as well as books for children and young people. They explored their characteristic features, presented them as elements of the publishing repertoire as well as serial publications, and discussed their development in various periods. Less interesting to them were the structure and typology of books. In recent years there have emerged studies devoted to electronic books as objects of bibliological research. Research into books and their types is also conducted by specialists from other disciplines: historians, historians of literature and education. Their results are also interesting to bibliologists.
