Purpose: The purpose of the study was to establish the influence of home to school communication on academic achievement of pupils in public primary schools. Methodology: The research design used was sequential explanatory research design, which combined both qualitative and quantitative models of research so that evidence may be mixed and knowledge increased in a more meaningful manner. The study population consisted of 1210 standard eight pupils, 300 standard eight teachers, 1210 standard eight parents and 75 Head teachers drawn from 75 public primary schools in Kisumu West Sub-County, Kisumu, Kenya. Stratified random sampling technique was employed for selecting 23 public primary schools and simple random sampling used in each stratum to select the pupils. Purposive sampling technique was done to select standard eight parents, and head teachers. The researcher would collect data using questionnaires and interview schedule, focus group discussions guide and document analysis. Quantitative data was analyzed through descriptive and results presented in the form of tables, frequencies, Percentages, and accumulative percentages and on the other hand qualitative data generated from open ended questions were organized, categorized and presented in narratives. Findings: The study established that home to school communication affected pupils’ academic achievement. Unique contribution to theory, practice and policy: The recommendations of the study were that there should be regular academic clinics and pupils progress follows up to help enhance achievement amongst the learners. The ecological system theory of development by (Bronfenbrenner 1969) outlined the influence of parent involvement at schools and the other surrounding influences on a child’s development and academic achievement which the ministry could borrow to enhance academic achievement

This study determined the prevalence of se1f regulatory skills (behavioural, emotional,verbal) and assessed the level of social competence of primary school pupils in Osun State. The study further examined the influence of self-regulatory skills and social competence on primary school pupils’ academic achievement. These were with a view to providing information on the association between Self-regulation and Social Competence in relation to lower Primary School Pupils’ academic achievement in Osun State Nigeria. The study adopted the correlational survey research design. The population for the study comprised primary III pupils in Osun State. Sample size consisted of 418 Primary III pupils selected using the multistage sampling procedure. Firstly, from the three Senatorial districts in Osun State, nine Local Government Areas (LGAs) were selected using simple random sampling technique (three from each senatorial district). Secondly, in each LGA, two primary schools were selected using simple random sampling technique. Thirdly, eighteen intact classes of primary Ill pupils were selected from each of the selected schools using the simple random sampling technique.The three instruments used for this study were: Sell-Regulation Observation Scale (SROS) Teachers Rating Scale (TRS); and Pupils’ Achievement Test (PAT). Data was analyzed using percentage and chi-square. The results showed that the level of primary school pupils’ behavioural self-regulatory skill was low (30%), emotional self-regulatory skill was at average (43%) while the verbal self-regulatory skill was low (27%). Overall, the level of self-regulatory skills of primary school pupils’ was low (39%). The results also indicated that the level of’ manifestation of social competence was high (64%). Results further showed that there was a statistically significant influence of self-regulatory skills and social competence on primary school pupils’ academic achievement (x2= 873.532, p<0.05). The study concluded that whilst Self-regulatory skill contributed little to pupils‘ academic achievement, Social Competence greatly influenced primary school pupils’ academic achievement in Osun State.

The aim of this research is; 1) investigating the level of online learning satisfaction among students during COVID 19; 2) analyzing the influence of differences in gender, years of study, major in determining online learning satisfaction among students during COVID 19; 3) to analyze the relationship between online learning satisfaction and student academic achievement during COVID 19. The population was 656 students at STKIP Singkawang, and then a sample of 357 students (87 males and 270 females) was taken using a simple random sampling technique. The instrument in this study was adapted from Aman's Satisfaction instrument, which was then used to collect research data. Data analysis using SPSS with descriptive statistical techniques, MANOVA, and correlation. The results showed that online learning satisfaction was at a high level, meaning that students were satisfied with the online learning that had been implemented. The major differences have a significant effect on determining online learning satisfaction. Intercorrelation shows that there is a significant relationship on each indicator of online learning satisfaction with academic achievement, meaning that the higher the satisfaction felt by students in online learning, the student's academic achievement will increase.

<div><p>Teachers often find themselves frustrated at work because of conflicting expectations concerning their professional and social roles within the community. This paper looks at the effect of teachers’ perception of their profession on their satisfaction at job and performance. The authors employ a survey design in private schools in Yei Town, South Sudan to establish the impact of these perceptions. Simple random sampling technique was used to select the respondents from ten private schools. The respondents’ therefore included 10 head teachers, 100 teachers giving a total of 110 respondents. Questionnaires were used for data collection. Data collected was analysed by the use of Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 12.0 was and presented in frequencies and percentages and a regression analysis performed to establish the relationships among the variables. The study findings indicated that a considerable number of the teachers (38.9%) indicated that teacher’s own perception of their own profession does not affect the teachers’ job satisfaction and performance.</p></div>

The rehabilitation centers BNN Tanah Merah incerease in rehabilitated drug users since 2013 from 5 people to 68 people in 2016. This study is intend to research is to determine correlation between a family situation with drugs relapse behavior to resident in Rehabilitation centers BNN Tanah Merah Samarinda. This research using Cross Sectional research design and the sampling technique used probability sampling with simple random sampling type.This research using a Chi Square statistic test. Based on the result, a good family situation respondents but still experience the relapse are 18.9% and a bad family situation respondents and still experience the relapse are 19,0%. Statistically obtained p-value 1.00 (p<0.05). it can be concluded that there is no correlation between a Family Situation with drugs relapse behavior to resident at Rehabilitation centers BNN Tanah Merah Samarinda.Keywords : Family situation, Relapse, Drugs, Resident.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between parental involvement and academic achievement of children in some selected full cycle government primary schools of Bahirdar city. To achieve this objective, 180 sample students were selected by using simple random sampling technique. The collected data was analyzed through, spearman correlation, analysis of variance and independent-test. The finding of the study revealed that the statistical analysis on independent t-test showed that there was a statistically significant difference between male and female students with regard to their academic achievement (t=6.25, df = 178, p<0.05). The finding of spearman correlation indicates that there was significant relationship between parental involvement and academic achievement of students (r=.56, p <.05). The result on one way ANOVA displayed that there was statistical significant difference among respondents academic achievement with regard to their parental level of education (F 2, 176) = 17.084, P<0.05. In conclusion, parental involvement is positively correlated with academic achievement of students and males have better academic performance than their female counter parts.

This study investigated job satisfaction and qualification as a determinant of teachers’ job mobility in primary schools in Oyo State. The study employed the descriptive research design of the survey type. The population consisted of all teachers from the public primary schools in the state. The sample for this study was 300 teachers which were selected from 20 public primary schools using multi-stage sampling procedure. The first stage involved the use of simple random sampling technique to select 10 Local Government Areas from the thirty- three Local Government Areas of the State. The second stage involved the selection of 20 public primary schools using purposive random sampling technique. Also, 15 teachers were selected from each of the public primary schools using simple random sampling technique at the third stage to make the total of 300 teachers as a sample for the study. A self-structured questionnaire tagged Teachers’ Questionnaire on Job Mobility, Satisfaction and Qualification (TQJMSQ) was used to elicit relevant data for the study. The face and content validity of the instrument was ensured. A reliability co-efficient of 0.69 was obtained for TQJMSQ using Pearson Product Moment correlation analysis. Data collected were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Research questions were answered using simple percentage, mean score and standard deviation while the hypothesis was analysed using t-test, ANOVA and Scheffe posthoc test at 0.05 level of significant. The study shows that job satisfaction and teachers’ qualifications determines job mobility in primary schools in Oyo State. The researchers recommended that government and other school owners should encourage teachers on the job by giving them necessary remuneration and teachers should be encouraged to update themselves to acquire higher qualifications so that they can be fixed to relevant position. Rules have been formulated on how adverbials are used. Such rules as stated by Quirk and Greenbaum (1973), Hornby (1975) and Swan (1995) are silent on how a few adverbials that have no restrictions regarding their position and order in sentences should be used. This paper, relying on language variation in the second language setting as a theoretical framework, explored how undergraduate students used these kinds of mobile adverbials. The quantitative research design and a simple random sampling were applied to select a total of 100 essays and exercises from fresh undergraduates of the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. Analysing these essays and exercises, we concluded that although the adverbial is an optional clausal element, the undergraduate students used it in providing further information on the other clausal elements. In addition, the undergraduate students often placed the adverbials in the mid position of their sentences. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between leadership style of head teachers and pupils’ performance in Webuye West Sub County. The study adopted descriptive research design to establish the relationship between study variables. It covered 65 primary schools with a total population of 1000 teachers. In order to consider the three educational zones in the area, Krejcie and Morgan table was used to select a sample of 56 out of 65 primary schools. All the head teachers in the selected schools were part of the study sample. Further, simple random sampling technique was used to select 5 teachers from each school for the study sample, giving a total of 280 teachers. Therefore, the study sample was 336 respondents. Tools used in data collection were questionnaires for head teachers and teachers. To test reliability, test-retest method was used where a Pearson’s correlation coefficient (r) value of 0.876 was found. Chi-square was used to determine the relationship between each independent variable and the dependent variable. Data was analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 20. The findings revealed that there is a significant relationship between performance of pupils and head teacher’s leadership skills.

The study aimed at exploring the different types of punctuation errors made by students in their writings, the reasons behind these errors, and the reasons behind the differences in the frequency of punctuation errors made by students from two different sets of universities, with one set belonging to backward areas and the other set to well-developed areas. The universities selected from the backward areas were Kohat University of Science and Technology (KUST) Kohat, University of Malakand (UoM), Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University (SBBU), Sheringal University (SU) and Khushal Khan Khattak University (KKKU), Karak and the universities selected from developed areas were National University of Modern Languages, (NUML) Islamabad, International Islamic University (IIU), Islamabad, University of Sargodha (UoS) and Gomal University(GU), Dera Ismail Khan. The study used Corder (1975)’s Error Analysis approach for analysing the errors. The study used mixed-method research design. The sample included a total of 200 students, out of which 25 students were selected from each university through simple random sampling technique. Test and interviews were used as instruments for data collection. For the identification of punctuation errors, the students were made to take a punctuation test. A probe was made into the possible reasons behind the punctuation errors by interviewing the students. The data collected was analysed by using content analysis technique. The study revealed that the most frequent errors were errors related to comma, apostrophe, and capitalization. The analysis of the interviews showed that the lack of practice on punctuation marks, lack of teaching punctuation within context, lack of checking of punctuation errors and lack of error corrective feedback on the punctuation errors were the major reasons behind the differences in the frequency of punctuation errors.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between perceived effects of the implementation of strategic planning process and head teachers’ performance in public day primary school in Kericho County of Kenya. The study used an ex-post-facto research design. The research approach used was quantitative and qualitative. The target population comprised of 524 head teachers of public primary schools in Kericho County. The research instruments used to collect the data were questionnaires and interview schedules. A sample of 227 headteachers and Six (6) Sub County Directors was obtained using Stratified Random Sampling and Purposive sampling technique respectively. Data was collected using a questionnaire that was developed by the researcher. Simple random sampling technique was used to select schools in each sub County. A pilot study was done on 23 headteachers who were not included in the final study to determine reliability of the research instruments. Cronbach alpha formula was used to determine reliability coefficient. A score of 0.7 and above was deemed acceptable. Data was analysed for descriptive statistics (frequencies and percentages) and inferential statics (Pearson correlation and Regression analysis). The results were presented in form of tables and figures. The results show that implementation of strategic planning process did not have a statistically significant relationship with head teachers’ performance in primary day schools in Kericho County. There was a positive correlation between results of strategic planning process and head teachers’ performance at (r = 135; p = 0.056).
