The current research aims to analyze the content of the economics book for the second grade commercial according to the habits of the mind, the researcher adopted the descriptive approach as an approach to his research, and to achieve the goal of the research, the researcher prepared a questionnaire for the habits of the mind consisting of sixteen main habits and (49) indicators, presented to a group of referees to clarify Their opinions and observations about the tool, honesty and consistency were extracted for it, and appropriate statistical means were used, and after applying the tool, the following results were reached: 1- The content of the economics book includes habits of the mind. 2- The imbalance of percentages of the habits of the mind in the content of the book, economics, which was analyzed Key words: (Content analysis, economics textbook, Habits of Mind).

  The research aims to identify:                     1-The level of habits of mind of the Department of  Mathematics students in the college of Basic Education of Mustansiriyah University and Diyala University. 2- Level of cognitive preference of the Department of Mathematics students in the college of Basic Education of Mustansiriyah University and Diyala University. 3- The relation between the habits of mind and the cognitive preference of the Department of Mathematics students in the college of Basic Education of Mustansiriyah University and Diyala University. The researchers constructing scale a measure of the habits of the mind, we have produced the scale of the validity and the reliability, The scale becomes  final form is composed of (55) items, and adopted (Zafar,2008) scale of cognitive preference after confirming its validity and the reliability, The scale composed of  final form is (30) items, Then the two scales were applied on the research sample consists of(120)students from the fourth stage of basic education colleges of Mustansiriyah University and Diyala University.                                                                                                                                                            To achieve the aims of the research, use the following statistical means :(t-test) for one sample,  (t-test) for tow sample, and a Pearson correlation coefficient, Research results showed to:-             1- The Department of  Mathematics students in the college of Basic Education from both universities Mustansiriya and Diyala have good habits of mind. 2- The Department of  Mathematics students in the college of Basic Education from both universities Mustansiriya and Diyala enjoy all the cognitive styles of cognitive preference but in a few degrees, even if the style differs the other .The principles style was slightly more than the application style, then the critical style, followed by recall style.                                                        3-The result of the relation of the habits of the mind with the cognitive preference was an inverse relation between the habits of the mind with the recall style and vice versa with the critical and the principle and application was a direct relationship.                                                                                    In the light of the results of the research, the researcher presented some recommendations and suggestions for further and future works.

The study aimed to know the extent of applying science teachers the habits of mind to develop learning of secondary school students in Holy Makkah, for this purpose a survey descriptive approach was applied that relies on data collection and tabulation and then analyzing and extracting results from it, to determine the extent of application, prepare a questionnaire, and submit the proposed recommendations. The sample of the study was (31) female science teachers for the secondary stage. In order to answer the study questions, a questionnaire was applied (prepared by the researcher) that consists of four axes of mind habits, aiming to know the extent of applying the parameters to mind habits to develop the learning of high school students. (T-test - correlation coefficient). The results confirmed that secondary school teachers apply some mind habits to develop their students ’learning at an average rate of 50.76%. The study recommended the importance of holding training courses for female teachers in various stages of education on habits of the mind, and focusing on the use of learning based on habits of the mind, to move from teaching information to teaching effective skills and strategies for the learning process.

This research is entitled as "Anecdotal Text in the Oral Story of Yong Dollah Inheritance of Malays as Alternative Choice for Indonesian Language Teaching Materials". It is inspired by the collection of Yong Dollah stories as the inheritance of Malays in Bengkalis Regency which contain of humor elements. In addition, the stories have the same characteristics with anecdotal text, so that it can be applied as teaching material for Indonesia Language subject in the school. This research method was content analysis of descriptive approach. This research was conducted during six months. The technique used to collect data were documentation and interview. The data of this study were the entire generic structure and language features of anecdotal texts contained in a collection of Yong Dollah stories which consisted of 11 stories. The result showed that as following. First, there are five texts contain of complete generic structures and six texts contain of incomplete generic structure which is coda part for data 2, 3, 5, 8, and 1. Second, about language features, there are four data contains of all language features of Anecdote text, but on the other side, there are seven incomplete language features in the texts. Third, the consideration of choosing Yong Dollah as alternative material for Indonesia Language subject refers to eight indicators that are conveyed based on teachers’ perception toward Anecdote text Yong Dolla. 55 % of number of teachers claim that these texts suitable to be implemented as teaching material, but 44% of them claim neutral, and 1% claim disagree on it.

Аннотация. Изменения в системе современной литературной коммуникации обусловливают необходимость изучения ее структуры в условиях глобализации. В этой связи перспективным представляется выход за пределы собственно художественного текста и исследование его в аспекте гипертекстуальности. Данная статья посвящена истории, характеристике и изучению персуазивности, составляющей одну из модусных категорий как форм осмысления мира в языке. Установлено, что основные лексико-грамматические средства экспликации персуазивности в русском и кыргызском языках традиционно рассматриваются в составе модальных слов, конструкций. Также целью статьи стало изучение результатов исследования лингвистов по данной теме и выявление особенностей экпликации категории персуазивности в художественном тексте. В данной статье на основе анализа художественных текстов русского писателя В. Шукшина и кыргызского прозаика А. Саспаева выявлен прагмалингвистический потенциал категории персуазивности в русском и кыргызском языках. Ключевые слова: персуазивность, модус, модальность, экспликация, метакатегории, актуализационные категории, квалификативные категории, социальные категории, прагмалингвистический потенциал. Аннотация. Азыркы адабий байланыш өзгөрүүлөр глобалдаштыруу шарттарында, анын структурасын изилдөө талап болууда. Consequently, the structure of literary communication has been changed as the number of supplementary texts originated from a basic fiction text has increased. In this connection, it seems rational and fruitful to study the fiction text considering its hypertextual dimension. The aim of the work is to analyze the recurrent text formation components of russion and kyrgyz hypertext performing the advertising function. The study was based on the texts of praise for fiction books by russion and kyrgyz authors: V. Shukshin and A. Saspaev. The content analysis was applied to study their qualitative characteristics. This research examined the use of gesture on Mind Your Language movie season 1-5 perspective George Yule perspective. Mind Your Language movie is about condition of school or class that students from different country such as Italy, Germany, Greece, Spain, France, China, Japan, India and Pakistan. The objectives are to know the gesture used and how the gesture used on Mind Your Language movie based on George Yule perspective. The researcher used documentation to collect the data. During the process of research process, researchers here should see and hear repeatedly from “The Mind Your Language Movie”, then researchers showing the picture which one is showing the gesture, make every effort to collect and copy data which is related to the research. After that, the researchers finally processed it by using content analysis in a gesture based on George Yule perspective that are three Iconic, Deictic, and Beats. The result of this study is the researcher finds thirty eight gestures based on George Yule perspective that are iconic are twenty, deictic seven, and beats eleven. Each of the three gestures has different language functions ad meaning. Gestures on this movie used by teacher and students both in the classroom or outside the classroom.

This paper discusses improving students’ achievement in reading comprehension through the application of language experience approach. This paper will answer the question “Does the application of Language Experience Approach improve the students’ achievement in reading comprehension?” The objective of the study is aimed at finding out whether the application of Language Experience Approach improves the students’ achievement in reading comprehension. The sample of the research was the second grade students of SMA Panca Budi Medan, class XI – 2 science which consisted of 39 students, 19 boys and 20 girls. The technique of collecting data was by using three tests with two cycles in action research. The result showed that the application of language experience approach improved the students’ achievement in reading comprehension.   Key Words: Reading Comprehension, Language Experience Approach

Some of the problems faced by students in learning English are speech acts. This research focused on finding the speech acts. This study aims to get an overview of humor speech acts of the big bang theory. The qualitative descriptive approach will be used along with the content analysis technique. The result shows that: (1) there are three parts of speech acts used, including locutionary, illocutionary, and perlocutionary acts, (2) there is a violation of quantity, quality, relevance, and manner maxim. However, the most violation maxim was at the quantity maxim, (3) the screenwriters intentionally create a dialogue with several principles’ violations of speech acts, team-works, and humor categories. It can be concluded that the speech acts humor of the big bang theory screenwriters intentionally made some mistakes to create humor to raise up the jocularity atmosphere that can be enjoyed by the viewers. It is expected that this research can enrich the knowledge as regard the linguistic phenomena especially those which are related to speech acts.

Abstract Peirce’s treatment of index as seme, pheme, and delome supplies convincing explanatory support for gestural performatives. His semiotics evidences how non-symbolic signs can present, urge, and submit propositions, absent more conventional signs. Peirce uses index as a powerful agent to establish and highlight the implicit intentions pregnant within communicative acts, especially obviated in the interpretants which unfold in intra- and intersubjective exchanges. This inquiry explores the ontogeny of children’s prelinguistic gestures and posits, as does Austin, that these acts alone qualify as performatives given their communicative purpose. These indexical gestures are so foundational to proposition-making that they imply predicates and ultimately scaffold the construction of arguments. In fact, the propositions and arguments that index (shapes implicitly or explicitly) facilitate social ends as articulated in Peirce’s endoporeutic principle. This endoporeutic principle materializes when sign producers influence interpreters, urging them to adopt or recommending that they adopt proposed propositions/arguments housed in gestural sequences (performatives). What these early performative gestures ultimately exemplify is a social, subjunctive effect. This incorporates the Peircean principle of “submitting,” not compelling (to the mind of another for adoption), potential habits of mind.

لغة القرآن الكريم نظام متماسِك تترابط فيه المكوّنات اللّفظية والدلالية جميعا لِخدمة العقد الدلالي النّاظم فيه وهو التوحيد؛ فالغاية التي يجري إليها النصّ القرآني اتّساقا وانسجاما هي تقرير دلالة (لا إله إلا الله). وإذا جئنا إلى أسلوبه نجده يجمع بين ما هو إبلاغي، وبين ما هو جمالي ذو غاية إفحامية؛ أي إنّه ذو بُعد حجاجي، والخروج عن القياس اللغوي فيه لأجل غايات دلاليّة، تجعل منه خطابا تداوليّا صالحا لكلّ زمان ومكان. ومن ثَمّ تُطرح الإشكالية الآتية: كيف يتشكّل نظام الأسلوب داخل نظام اللغة؟ وهل يمكن الحديث عن وظائف أخرى للأسلوب غير الوظيفة الجماليّة؟ وكيف يتجلّى دور الأسلوب في دعم القصد الحجاجي؟ وللإجابة عن هذه الأسئلة انتُهِج المنهج الوصفي، مع اعتماد التّحليل تحقيقا لِهدف هذا البحث: وهو بيان أنّ ما ينضوي عليه الخطاب القرآني من أساليب إعجازية ليس لتحقيق الجمال فحَسب بل لِغرض الحجاج والإقناع. • الكلمات المفتاحية: الأسلوب، الحجاج، الوظيفة الحجاجية، الانزياح. The language of the holy Quran is a cohesive system where all verbal and semantics components are linked to service his regulatory contract which is (Al-Tawhid). The purpose that the quranic text being to coherently and harmoniously is to determine the meaning of (LA ILLAHA ILA ELLAH). And if we come to his style we fnd it combine between which is informative and aesthetic with a confutable goal; it means that it’s with argumentative dimensions, and exiting the measurement of language in it serve semantics purposes, this made him a pragmatic discourse applicable in every time and place. Hence the following problematic arose: How the system style is structured in the one of language? And if we can speak about other functions of style non-aesthetic one? And how the role of the style is explicit in supporting the argumentative intention? I adopted the descriptive approach to answer these questions, with the help of analysis to achieve the goal of this research which is: to indicate that what consist the quranic discourse of miraculous methods isn’t for just an aesthetic purpose, but for the argumentative one.
