Candesartan cilexetil is a group of selective AT1 hypertension drugs (angiotensin II receptor antagonist 1). The drawback of candesartan cilexetil in conventional tablets is that it cannot be used for geriatric patients who have difficulty swallowing tablets, patients with developmental disorders of the muscle and nervous system (tremors), and in schizophrenic patients that lead to poor patient compliance, so to overcome this problem alternative dosage forms are made new namely ODT candesartan cilexetil. This study aims to determine the effect of the combination of superdesintegrant croscarmellose sodium and crospovidone on the quality test of the physical properties of tablets. Candesartan cilexetil ODT tablets bolted by direct compression method with variations in levels of superdesintegrant croscarmellose sodium and crospovidone 2: 3,5%, 2,75: 2,75%, 5: 0,5%, 4,25: 1,25 %, 3,5: 2%. Tests conducted to determine the physical quality of candesartan cilexetil ODT, namely organoleptic, weight uniformity, size uniformity, hardness, brittleness, disintegration time, wetting time and water absorption ratio. Showed an increase in the use of crospovidone (5%) and a decrease in croscarmellose sodium (0.5%) had a greater effect on the disintegration time because it could make the tablet porous when in contact with water so that it would accelerate the disintegration time of 29.167 seconds and increase the speed of wetting the tablets 25.33 seconds. The combination of superdisintegrant croscarmellose sodium and crospovidone (0.5: 5%) in formula 3 can provide physical properties that meet the best quality ODT requirements for candesartan cilexetil.

Averrhoa bilimbi L. leaves can be used as an antidiabetic in the presence of flavonoid. Antidiabetic drugs were widely consumed by elderly patients who often had difficulty in consuming conventional tablets. Research in developing formulations of an antidiabetic drug that is capable of rapid disintegration and quickly dissolves when placed on the tounge is necessary, therefore it is formulated in fast disintegrating tablet dosage forms. The research aimed to formulate FDT of ethanol extract of Averrhoa bilimbi L. leaves with variation of superdisintegrant crospovidone and croscarmellose sodium. Fast disintegrating tablet of Averrhoa bilimbi L. leaves extract was manufactured by direct compression. Furthermore, the tablet was evaluated with physical properties and the results were analyzed using Design expert 10.1.3 program to bring in simplex lattice design (SLD) equation to get the optimum formula. Data which had been obtained was then analyzed byone sample test with confidence interval 95%. Based on the research results, the combinations of crospovidone and croscarmellose sodium was able to reduce the response of physical properties such as weight variation, hardness, friability, disintegration time, and wetting time. The optimum formula consist of 6.8 mg crospovidone and 12.2 mg croscarmellose sodium which resulted in 4.41 kg of hardness response, 0.59% of friability, 11.21 seconds of wetting time, and 3,85 seconds of disintegration time. Analysis of one sample t-test showed that there was no significant difference between the parameter values predicted results with the results of the research, so it can be concluded that SLD equation can be used to develop a formula that gives optimum parameters of FDT.

Abstract Purpose of Review (1) To give an overview of what is currently known about health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in three common and co-occurring developmental disorders: attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorders (ASD), and developmental coordination disorder (DCD), and (2) to provide directions for future research. Recent Findings HRQoL is compromised in all three developmental disorders, affecting various domains of HRQoL. However, some domains are more affected than others depending on the nature of the core deficits of the disorder. Overall, parents’ rate HRQoL of their children lower than the children themselves. Children with ASD and ADHD with co-occurring disorders have lower HRQoL compared to those with singular disorders. Future studies in DCD are needed to investigate the effect of co-occurring disorder in this population. Summary Children with developmental disorders have lower HRQoL than typically developing children. Future research should focus on the effects of co-occurring disorders on HRQoL and on protective factors that may increase HRQoL. HRQoL should be a part of clinical assessment, as it reveals the areas in life children are struggling with that could be targeted during intervention.
