The purpose of this study was to determine the physical properties of probiotic effervescent tablets with two different coatings that are tapioca and maltodextrin to improve water quality in shrimp farming ponds. This study used probiotics to improve the environmental quality of shrimp pond waters. Liquid probiotics from Research Institute for Coastal Aquaculture in Maros, South Sulawesi that contain Brevibacillus laterosporus. Probiotics that have been used are liquid and difficult to transport, therefore microencapsulation is carried out on liquid probiotics aimed at facilitating their distribution. The use of microencapsulating materials is to entrap or immobilize probiotic bacteria within microcapsule and to protect the bacteria during the drying process. Effervescent tablets were prepared in a dosage of 800 mg by wet granulation methods. This experiment was replicated 3 times. Tablets were evaluated for their physical properties there are mean weight, friability, hardness, disintegration time and pH. The results showed that mean weight for effervescent tablets with maltodextrin coatings was 796 mg, had a friability value 0.09%, a hardness value of 13.7 N and disintegration time of 10.68 minutes. Both probiotic effervescent tablets meet the standards pH of 7.07 and 6.67. The maltodextrin coatings was the best treatment of this study.

Abstract RICA (Research Institute for Coastal Aquaculture) Maros in South Sulawesi has developed 5 probiotic preparations, namely RICA-1, RICA-2, Rica-3, RICA-4 and RICA-5 in liquid form to improve shrimp farming in ponds. In practice, the use of liquid probiotics has been very optimal but the distribution is constrained because of its liquid form. For this reason, microencapsulation of liquid probiotics is carried out to protect from the external environment and maintain the viability of probiotic cells in the encapsulated matrix. The purpose of this study was to determine the physical properties of probiotic effervescent tablets using tapioca coating with different concentration variants (10 and 20%) with four effervescent tablet formulas. The results showed that the pH of the probiotic effervescent tablet Formula 3 with a coating concentration of 10% tapioca had a neutral pH compared to all existing formulas. However, the pH for probiotic effervescent tablets produced by all formulas can still be applied to shrimp ponds. Formula 4 with 10% tapioca coating has a mean weight and hardness that is close to the standard as well as a disintegration time that meets the specified standard of tablet physical properties. Meanwhile, the tablet friability value was met by Formula 3 with a concentration of 10% tapioca coating. It can be concluded that the best formula that meets the standard physical properties of tablets is Formula 4 with 10% tapioca coating. The probiotic effervescent tablet with tapioca coating has a weakness in the hardness value which causes the average weight to be not uniform. These results indicate that tapioca coating is not suitable for use as a coating for probiotic effervescent tablets.

The drying process of corn noodles was an effort to increase the shelf life and it was a form of noodles diversification. The objective of this research was to study and analyze the effect of guar gum addition on the physical quality of the extruded dry corn noodle made from a mixture of wet and dry corn flour. Manufacturing dry corn noodles was conducted using wet corn noodles from a mixture of wet and dry corn flour, which was then dried in a tray dryer at a temperature of 60-70 °C for 1 - 1.5 hours. The treatments used were a combination of alum levels of 0.01%; moisture content of 80% (dry base); and guar gum concentration of 0%, 1%, and 2%. Physical properties of dry corn noodles included rehydration time, hardness, adhesiveness, suppleness, elongation, and cooking loss. The results showed that the optimum rehydration time for dry corn noodles was about 9 minutes. The addition of guar gum to the physical qualities of dry corn noodles tended not to be significant statistically, but as a score, an increase in guar gum levels tended to increase the elongation of dry corn noodles. While, increasing levels of guar gum tended to reduce the stickiness and cooking loss levels of them.

Metoclopramide HCl are used to reduce vomiting and nausea. The availability on the market in the form of tablet, syrup and injection. Patient tend to prefer take drugs by oral use because it was easier. Chewable tablet is the new product as the alternative ways to treatment children and adult patient who had difficulity problem of swallowing drugs. Objectives: This research aims to formulate the chewable metoclopramide HCl tablets using diluent variations to get a better physical quality test. Chewable tablets of metoclopramide HCl are made using diluent variations, they are mannitol, sucrose, lactose. Formula I mannitol, formula II sucrose, and formula III lactose. Chewable tablet preparations are made by the wet granulation method. Data collection was performed on physical characteristics including organoleptic, weight uniformity, uniformity of size, tablet hardness, tablet fragility, disintegration time, metoclopramide HCl levels. Physical quality test results were statistically analyzed to determine the effect of variations in the diluent on the characteristics of chewable tablets. The results of this research have an influence on the physical quality and uniformity of contents of various types of diluent variations between each formulation. In this research, fillers have an important role in the preparation of chewable metoclopramide tablets to determine the physical quality of the tablets and the uniformity of their contents. The variation of diluent that gives better results is mannitol. This is because formulas that use mannitol have uniformity in content that meets the requirements, faster disintegration time, and physical quality of tablets that still meet the requirements, when compared to the first and second formulations. The variation of diluent that gives better results is mannitol.

Helminthostachys zeylanica extract has pharmacological activities such as antioxidant, antiinflamatory, and antihyerucemia. This extract is nontoxic substance from the acute and subchronic toxicity tests. This extract has a potency to be formulated into tablet dosage forms. This study aims to optimize a tablet formula from Helminthostachys zeylanica extract. Disintegrant and binder concentrations were independent variables, while physical properties and dissolution time of the tablets were dependent variables. The tablet was prepared by a wet granulation method. Formula was optimized by Simplex Lattice Design. Physicochemical propertiesof granule, physical properties and dissolution of tablet were then analyzed with One Way ANOVA (p = 0.05). Based on granule analysis, specification of physicochemical parameters, such as hausner’s ratio, compressibility index, flowability, repose angle, and water content, met standard British Pharmacopeia. In addition, the starch and PVA concentrations influenced thickness, weight variation, hardness, friability, disintegration time and dissolution of the tablets (p <0.05), except for friability (p> 0.05). Based on this study, the starch and PVA concentrations for the optimum tablet formula were 19.5% and 1.05%, respectively.

Zingiber cassumunar Roxb contains active compounds such as cassumumin AC, cassummarin AC, phenylbutanoid, and (E) -4- (3,4-dimethoxyphenyl) but-3-en-1-ol which has activities as anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anti-allergenic agents so that they are potentially used as anti-allergies. Zingiber cassumunar Roxb is made into tablet because it has several advantages, which are easy to consume, practical, the right amount, cover the bitter taste and the distinctive smell and its stability is maintained in storage. This study aims to produce Zingiber cassumunar Roxb tablets that have good physical properties by using PVP as a binder. Zingiber cassumunar Roxb extract was made by maceration using 70% ethanol solvent, the tablet was formulated using wet granulation method. Zingiber cassumunar Roxb ethanol extract tablet was formulated in 3 formulas with variations in the PVP FI content of 1%, FII 2.75%, and FIII 4.5%. The resulting granules were tested for physical properties including moisture test, particle size distribution, flow time, stationary angle, bulk density, and compressibility, while the tablets produced were tested for physical properties including organoleptic test, uniformity of size, uniformity of weight, friability, and disintegration time. The results showed that the optimum concentration obtained was at FIII with 4.5% PVP concentration that complied the organoleptic test requirements, uniformity of size, weight uniformity, and fragility of tablets.

Microcrystalline cellulose was isolated from rami (Boehmeria Nivea L. Gaud), and applied as disintegrant in tablets of dimenhydrinate, made by direct compression and wet granulation. The aim of this study is to produce dimenhydrinate tablets with Microcrystalline Cellulose Rami (MCC Rami) isolated from Rami (Boehmeria Nivea L. Gaud), as a disintegrant and assess the effect of MCC Rami and Granulation technique on physical properties of drug such as, disintegration time, drug release and dissolution. Formulations of dimenhydrinate 100mg tablets were prepared with a combination of mannitol and lactose as a filler and MCC Rami as disintegrant in a concentration of 10-20%. The formulas were directly compressed or were compressed into tablets after wet granulation. The mechanical properties, drug release, physical properties and effects of process parameters, methods of applying disintegrant in tablet formulas were examined. A significant difference in disintegration time of tablets that were produced by direct compression and wet granulation was seen, that can be attributed to the porous structure of granules that enhanced fast disintegration, which had eventually improved dissolution and drug release. F1 and F2 with MCC Rami and physical mixture of MCC Rami with crosspovidone as a disintegrant that were directly compressed disintegrated in 79 and 72 seconds respectively thats not a significant difference, however when MCC was applied in an intragranular way its disintegration time is 67 seconds. The results showed that the method of disintegrant application and press of tableting has a significant effect on drug release and dissolution.Keywords : Microcrystalline Cellulose, wet granulation, disintegrant, Boehmeria Nivea L. Angkak or better known as Red yeast rice is fermentation rice using a mold Monascus purpureus. Some studies of red yeast rice can lower cholesterol levels in the body because it contains monoakolin K or similliar with lovastatin compound. Generally in community consumption of red yeast rice only with pour in the boilling water so it can causing inconvenience for its customers. This study aims to make a formulation tablet of red yeast rice extract which varied with the levels of croscarmellose sodium 5% -1% (32mg, 26mg, 19,5mg, 13mg, 6,5mg) and lactose (75,75mg, 82.25 mg, 88,75mg , 95,25mg, 101,75mg) in order to get a best physical properties of the tablet including friability and disintegration time. Angkak extract was made by remaseration method using ethanol 75% and the manufacture of tablets using wet granulation method. Stastical test tablet extract angkak using One Way ANOVA with 95% confidence level. Optimum formula obtained by using the Simplex Lattice Design (SLD) using Design Expert version 8.0.7.1 program and statistically tested using one-sample t-test. The results from test showed the proportion of croscarmellose sodium 6.5mg and 101.75mg lactose produces tablets with the best of physical properties of red yeast rice extract.The result is indicate that the combination of croscarmellose sodium and lactose may affect response the physical properties of red yeast rice extract tablets.

Abstrak Temulawak adalah tanaman yang tumbuh berumpun, yang telah dimanfaatkan oleh sebagian masyarakat Indonesia, baik sebagai obat tradisional, sebagai pewarna maupun sebagai bahan pangan. Perlu dibuat sediaan tablet hisap agar dapat digunakan dengan nyaman dan praktis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji pengaruh kombinasi bahan pengisi sorbitol dan laktosa terhadap karakteristik granul ekstrak rimpang temulawak dan terhadap mutu fifik tablet hisap ekstrak temulawak. Tablet hisap esktrak rimpang temulawak dibuat dengan campuran bahan pengisi sorbitol dan laktosa dengan konsentrasi berbeda yaitu F1 (sorbitol 5%: laktosa 95%), F2 (Sorbitol 10% dan laktosa 90%), F3 (Sorbitol 15%: Laktosa 85%), F4 (Sorbitol 20% : laktosa 80%), F5 (Sorbitol 25%: laktosa 75%). Tablet dibuat dengan granulasi basah. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain eksperimental laboratorium dengan melakukan pengamatan dan pencatatan hasil dari formulasi tablet hisap ekstrak rimpang temulawak (Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb) dengan bahan pengisi sorbitol dan laktosa. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan SPSS versi 21 dengan metode ANOVA oneway dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95%. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu konsentrasi sorbitol dan laktosa terbaik untuk menghasilkan tablet hisap ekstrak temulawak adalah konsentrasi sorbitol (5%) dan laktosa (95%) dengan kecepatan alir 16,5±0,304 g/detik, persen kompresibilitas 6,57±0,069%, kadar lembab 1,47±0,06%, kekerasan 10,25±0,79 kP. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan konsentrasi sorbitol dapat menurunkan sifat tabletasi dan memperbaiki sifat fisik dari granul, makin tinggi konsentrasi sorbitol kekerasan tablet semakin menurun, dan meningkatkan kerapuhan dan waktu hancur tablet. Sedangkan semakin banyak konsentrasi laktosa meningkatkan sifat alir sudut diam, persen kompresibilitas dan menurunkan kadar lembab. Kata kunci : Temulawak, Tablet hisap, Sorbitol, Laktosa   Abstrak Temulawak is a plant that grows in clumps, which has been used by some Indonesian people, both as traditional medicine, as a dye and as a food ingredient. It is necessary to make lozenges so that they can be used comfortably and practically. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of the combination of sorbitol and lactose as fillers on the granule characteristics of the temulawak rhizome extract and on the physical quality of the lozenges of the temulawak extract. Temulawak rhizome extract lozenges were made with a mixture of sorbitol and lactose as fillers with different concentrations, namely F1 (sorbitol 5%: lactose 95%), F2 (Sorbitol 10% and lactose 90%), F3 (Sorbitol 15%: Lactose 85%), F4 (Sorbitol 20%: lactose 80%), F5 (Sorbitol 25%: lactose 75%). Tablets are prepared by wet granulation. This study used a laboratory experimental design by observing and recording the results of the formulation of lozenges of temulawak rhizome extract (Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb) with sorbitol and lactose as fillers. The data obtained were analyzed using SPSS version 21 with the one-way ANOVA method with a 95% confidence level. The results of this study are the best concentrations of sorbitol and lactose to produce lozenges of temulawak extract are concentrations of sorbitol (5%) and lactose (95%) with a flow rate of 16.5±0.304 g/second, percent compressibility 6.57±0.069%, moisture content 1.47±0.06%, hardness 10.25±0.79 kP. From this research, it can be concluded that the addition of sorbitol concentration can decrease the tableting properties and improve the physical properties of the granules, the higher the sorbitol concentration, the lower the tablet hardness, and increase the friability and disintegration time of the tablets. ABSTRAK Pembuatan tablet Aminofilin menggunakan metode granulasi basah dikarenakan memiliki sifat alir dan kompaktibilitas yang kurang baik. Granulasi basah memerlukan bahan penghancur agar formula tablet sangat berlawanan dengan fungsi bahan pengikat. semakin kuat daya ikat bahan pengikat maka dipilih bahan penghancur dengan daya hancur yang semakin besar. Konsentrasi dari bahan penghancur akan mempengaruhi kecepatan disintegrasi. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari konsentrasi bahan penghancur yaitu primojel yang digunakan terhadap kualitas tablet aminophilin yang dihasilkan. Pada penelitian akan dibuat sediaan tablet aminofilin dengan variasi bahan penghancur yaitu primojel. Dilakukan evaluasi granul seperti uji sifat alir serta evaluasi tablet seperti keseragaman bobot, ukuran, kandungan, kekerasan, kerapuhan, waktu hancur dan disolusi. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa formula tablet yang mengandung bahan penghancur pada formula I, formula II, Formula III menghasilkan tablet yang memenuhi persyaratan tablet yang baik. Kata Kunci: Aminofilin, Granulasi Basah, Variasi Primojel ABSTRAK Aminophylline tablet manufacturing using wet granulation method due to having flow properties and compactibility unfavorable. Wet granulation requires a shredder material that tablet formula is in contrast with the function of the binder. The stronger the power tie then selected binder material crushers with crushed greater power. The concentration of disintegrant will affect the speed of disintegration. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of the concentration of primojel crushers are used to the quality of the resulting tablet aminophylline. The research will be made with a variety of aminophylline tablet dosage shredder material that is primojel. Test to evaluate the granules as flow properties and evaluation of tablets such as uniformity of weight, size, content, hardness, friability, disintegration time and dissolution. The results obtained from this study can be concluded that the formula tablets containing material crusher of formula I, Formula II, Formula III to produce a tablet that meets the requirements of a good tablet. Candesartan cilexetil is a group of selective AT1 hypertension drugs (angiotensin II receptor antagonist 1). The drawback of candesartan cilexetil in conventional tablets is that it cannot be used for geriatric patients who have difficulty swallowing tablets, patients with developmental disorders of the muscle and nervous system (tremors), and in schizophrenic patients that lead to poor patient compliance, so to overcome this problem alternative dosage forms are made new namely ODT candesartan cilexetil. This study aims to determine the effect of the combination of superdesintegrant croscarmellose sodium and crospovidone on the quality test of the physical properties of tablets. Candesartan cilexetil ODT tablets bolted by direct compression method with variations in levels of superdesintegrant croscarmellose sodium and crospovidone 2: 3,5%, 2,75: 2,75%, 5: 0,5%, 4,25: 1,25 %, 3,5: 2%. Tests conducted to determine the physical quality of candesartan cilexetil ODT, namely organoleptic, weight uniformity, size uniformity, hardness, brittleness, disintegration time, wetting time and water absorption ratio. Showed an increase in the use of crospovidone (5%) and a decrease in croscarmellose sodium (0.5%) had a greater effect on the disintegration time because it could make the tablet porous when in contact with water so that it would accelerate the disintegration time of 29.167 seconds and increase the speed of wetting the tablets 25.33 seconds. The combination of superdisintegrant croscarmellose sodium and crospovidone (0.5: 5%) in formula 3 can provide physical properties that meet the best quality ODT requirements for candesartan cilexetil.
