The strategic goal of modern education is the formation of a harmoniously developed personality, capable and motivated for continuous education and self-education. For this purpose, the priority in the educational process is the use of a personal-activity approach, which pays special attention to the ideas of developing the educational motivation of students. The main aspects of motivation in biology lessons in the eighth grade are: the applied nature of information, interesting facts, non-standard methods of conducting lessons, integration with other areas of knowledge, project activities. Emotional inclusion, on the basis of which the importance of the material for oneself and others is realized, is used in integrated geography and biology lessons – especially when considering topics about human economic activity, the ecological state of territories, as well as about resorts and nature reserves, about weather and climate patterns and human acclimatization. It is also very important to be aware of certain connections between new material and what has already been studied in integrated lessons, especially since modern pedagogical experience offers the maximum variety of such lessons. Here are just a few examples of intersubject integration from the report of I. V. Panina at the international conference on innovative pedagogical technologies. All these methods somehow form the motivation of students to learn about their own body in the lessons of the natural science cycle, there is also a relationship between the formation of motivation for learning and the effectiveness of students ' activities in classroom and extracurricular classes in the subjects of the natural science cycle.

The article presents the results of an empirical study of social representations about school and learning among the main participants of the modern school educational process: students themselves, their teachers and parents. The study, conducted in the 2018/2019 academic year, involved 480 teenagers, pupils of 5—11 classes of several Moscow secondary schools, 145 of their parents (mostly mothers) and 147 teachers (of which also the majority are women). To identify social representations, respondents were asked to write five consecutive associations for the following words: "school" (for teenagers), "school of my childhood" and "modern school" (for teachers and parents), "learning" and "Unified state exam (USE)" (for all groups of participants). In the logic of the theory of "core and periphery" obtained for each of the groups of participants of the study associations were subjected to prototypical analysis (according to P.Verges).We tested the hypothesis on the difference in social representations about school and learning in different groups of participants of the educational process.Social representations were indeed different in the studied groups when it came to school and learning, but they turned out to be quite close when the associations to the word "Unified state exam (USE)" were analyzed: apart from the frequently occurring ascertaining (and in this sense emotionally neutral) association "test", the rest had a negative emotional, evaluative connotation.

In this paper, science education is considered as a crosscutting approach, which should be implemented at every level of education (playschools, primary and secondary schools, universities, as well as in lifelong learning). This will make it possible to radically modernize outdated forms of education. Modern education should be based primarily on research because it can protect the educational process from becoming an overt or veiled indoctrination. The training of similar characters is easily exposed to various external manipulations. This approach to education is de facto “education for war” because it doesn’t contribute to the development of holistic personalities that will realize their professional and civic potential in their careers and everyday life. Science education should play a leading role in the philosophy of education for peace offering new style of communication between lecturer (teacher) and student (pupil), as well as an atypical attitude to knowledge, encouraging freedom of knowledge and creativity in the educational process.

The problem of preserving the vision of younger generation is one of the most pressing issues not only in the field of health, but also in the field of education. This problem has become especially important in the context of intensification of modern school students' education. Unfortunately, over the past decades, there has been an increase in prevalence of visual impairment of children. Currently there is a special term — «school short-sightedness (Myopia) ". According to many researchers, vision problems begin from the moment the children enter school, and this alarming trend is being detected around the world today. The article presents the results of a survey of Moscow school teachers conducted in January 2020 in order to identify the level and content of their knowledge about visual disorders, awareness of issues of vision protection and methods of work with students, as well as the request for training in activities aimed at preventing and correcting visual disorders of students. 387 teachers from Moscow state schools (31educational complex from different administrative districts of Moscow) took part in the survey. The survey data obtained confirm that today in educational organizations the work on protection of children's vision is episodic, or is not carried out. The reasons for this are insufficient knowledge and lack of special training of teachers in issues of vision protectionof students. All of the above confirms the relevance of development of measures for activities in educational organizations for vision protection, dictates the need to develop both methodological support and educational training programs for teachers aimed at prevention and correction of visual disorders of students.

Р. Миллса, З. Баумана, Х. Ортеги-и-Гассета и др. critical thinking is considered one of the key competencies of modern education, and modern students certainly need to develop it, since the features of modern school education and the development trends of mass society do not allow it to develop adequately to the needs of rapidly changing social reality. This article uses the example of a General sociology course to show the process of developing critical thinking at the University. The works of Ch.R. Mills, Z. Bauman, J. Ortega y Gasset, and others are used to form critical thinking.
