Abstract. Introduction. The issue of financial risk management of commercial banks is quite relevant today, because the activity of banks is the most risky of all. The presence of risks in banking can lead to unexpected losses, namely the loss of own resources. That’s why for the stable operation of the bank without loss the priority is to assess the financial risks, which is the basis for their further neutralization. Purpose. The purpose of the article is to develop conceptual provisions for assessment financial risks and justifying the need to neutralize them. Results. The article analyzes the impact of risks on the financial stability of a banking institution. The main methods of bank risk assessment are considered. All these include the statistical method, the analytical method, the expert method, the analogue method and the combined method. The necessity of neutralization of financial risks in order to avoid negative consequences is substantiated. Also the methods of bank risks neutralization are considered. It should be noted that these methods of neutralization can not only be used, but also supplement the list with new methods must be done, which in the future will protect the bank from the influence of undesirable factors. A conceptual approach to the assessment and neutralization of financial risks is proposed. This conceptual approach aims to ensure effective assessment of the level of risk with their subsequent neutralization Conclusions. Use of a conceptual approach will allow an effective risk assessment and decision-making to avoid or accept risk. Thanks to using this approach, the banking institution will be able to react swiftly to the presence of financial risks and to prevent the occurrence of negative consequences, which may lead to a violation of the financial stability of the bank.

The objective of this paper was to create a mathematical model of vacuum drops in a form that enables the testing of the impact of design parameters of a milking cluster on the values of vacuum drops in the claw. Simulation tests of the milking cluster were conducted, with the use of a simplified model of vacuum drops in the form of a fourth-degree polynomial. Sensitivity analysis and a simulation of a model with a simplified structure of vacuum drops in the claw were carried out. As a result, the impact of the milking machine’s design parameters on the milking process could be analysed. The results showed that a change in the local loss and linear drag coefficient in the long milk duct will have a lower impact on vacuum drops if a smaller flux of inlet air, a higher head of the air/liquid mix, and a higher diameter of the long milk tube are used.

This work reports the latest observations on the behavior of two Multigap Resistive Plate Chambers (MRPC) under wide high-luminosity exposures, which motivate the development and in-beam test of the sealed MRPC prototype assembled with low-resistive glass. The operation currently being monitored, together with previous simulation results, shows the impact of gas pollution caused by avalanches in gas gaps, and the necessity to shrink the gas-streaming volume. With the lateral edge of the detector sealed by a 3D-printed frame, a reduced gas-streaming volume of ~170 mL has been achieved for a direct gas flow to the active area. A high-rate test of the sealed MRPC prototype shows that, ensuring a 97% efficiency and 70 ps time resolution, the sealed design results in a stable operation current behavior at a counting rate of 3–5 kHz/cm2. The sealed MRPC will become a potential solution for future high luminosity applications.

Abstract Active tilt control system (ATC) is considered to be a prominent technological advancement in the three wheelers (3Ws), which improves the drive and comfort capabilities of 3W, leading to additional benefits of excellent maneuverability and small track width. An experimental prototype along with its simulation model is developed, to study the impact of the tilt actuation control system (TAS) and active steer (AS) system on the overall drive experience and stability improvement. A steering direct tilt control (SDTC) strategy is implemented on the vehicle, which allows stable operation of the system during the entire drive range. A transfer function (TF) of the TAS is estimated from the measurements on the prototype using the system identification tool. The derived TF is then utilized to investigate the response of the complete vehicle in terms of vehicle trajectory, perceived acceleration and load transfer across the rear wheels during the double lane change (DLC) and constant turn maneuvers. The results of the analysis indicate that the perceived acceleration felt by the driver is up to 45% less than the lateral acceleration along with up to 36% reduction in load transfer across the rear wheels.

Premature failure of mechanical seal components is often a result of the elevated temperatures at the sealing interface that arise due to frictional heating. The Heat Sink Mechanical Seal (HSS) is a new approach to interface cooling in which a micro heat sink is constructed within millimeters of the sealing interface. Coolant circulated through the highly structured pin fin region carries away the generated heat. This work investigates the impact of interface cooling on carbon wear rates for a tungsten carbide (WC) and carbon graphite material pair. Experiments are performed using a thrust washer rotary tribometer to simulate a mechanical seal operating in dry running conditions within and in excess of the PV limit for the material pair (17.5 MPa*m/s or 500,000 psi*ft/min). Results show stable operation of sealing components in harsh operating conditions as well as the potential to reduce the occurrence of thermally induced wear and failure.

Chain SVG device is connected to the power grid via the reactor which is also referred to as connection reactor. Compared with other reactors of reactive compensation devices, It’s not like the serial filtering reactor which simply provides a specific quantity of inductive reactive power, or parallel phase control reactor which provides continuously adjustable inductive reactive power. The connection reactor in SVG is related to the impact of SVG on the power grid, the impact of the power grid system on SVG, and in particular, the compensation capacity and effect of SVG. Therefore, during design, requirements of SVG and electrical property of the compensated system should both be considered. In this paper, the impact of the connection reactor on SVG stable operation is analyzed in detail. The design principle that when choosing the reactor parameters, the impact on power unit DC side voltage should be prioritized is proposed, and simulation verification is conducted by using of PSCAD software. A reasonable reactor is selected for a 10kV SVG based on the conclusion. The actual operation result verifies the rationality of design.

Analysis of national and international databases on the safety of physical factors. Non-regulatory working conditions of computer users are largely due to the lack of national sanitary norms and rules for the safe operation of computer equipment. Current international standards relate to the radiative properties of technical means and do not consider the conditions in the workplace. It is shown that general standards on maximum permissible levels of physical factors are unacceptable for their application in the field of user safety due to high maximum permissible levels of electromagnetic fields, infrasound, electrostatic fields, etc. In addition, there are significant differences in the various current regulations regarding limit levels and methods for determining the integrated electromagnetic load. When developing sanitary norms for the safety of users of computer equipment, the dependence of air quality on the aeroionic composition on the presence of surface electrophysical charges on polymer surfaces and models of technical means and means of air cooling should be taken into account. It is advisable to regulate the use of artificial air ionization devices. Given the relatively low levels of electromagnetic fields in the workplace of users, it is necessary to regulate the ways of controlling the levels of electromagnetic fields with acceptable errors. Given the impact of unstable operation of technical ways on the psychomatic state of users in the process of developing the relevant standard, it is necessary to take into account the stable operation of equipment by increasing the levels of electromagnetic compatibility of equipment.
