As a form of increasing public understanding of immigration law and awareness to report on foreign nationals in their territory, the Directorate General of Immigration especially the Immigration Office has the obligation to conduct legal counseling to the people in their area, to assist in the oversight and implementation of article 72 of the law. number 6 in 2011. Especially after the issuance of presidential regulation number 21 of 2016 concerning visa-free visitation, where the addition of non-visa user countries automatically increases the number of foreign nationals entering Indonesia. Community understanding is highly expected regarding immigration functions and how they play a role in carrying out these functions. Collaboration on the role of immigration and related institutions especially the community is needed in carrying out supervision and reporting in order to uphold the country's sovereignty.

Land given to and owned by people with rights provided by the UUPA is to be used and utilized. The granting and possession of land with these rights will not be meaningful if its use is limited to land as the surface of the earth. The land also has a significant role in the dynamics of development. According to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia NRI,  "earth and water are natural resources contained therein controlled by the state and used for the greatest prosperity of the people." This research uses a normative juridical approach that is research based on the rules / according to the law because this research focused on the use of document studies and literature or secondary data. The research specification used is descriptive-analytic, which describes the law of the land in the era of globalization based on local wisdom. The results of the study illustrate that the role of the land ruling state, which used for the prosperity of the people, is regulated under Law No. 5 of 1960 concerning Basic Regulations on Agrarian Principles (UUPA).On the other hand, the globalization of law is nothing more than a legal intervention from developed countries towards developing countries in order to adjust their laws globally. One way to address the problem of globalization of land law is to reaffirm local wisdom. In other words, they are upholding the customary provisions related to land. Example: provisions of customary land. Customary land is communal land that is jointly owned and thus does not need to be certified.

Fatwas of the National Sharia Council-Indonesian Ulama Council (DSN-MUI), in the field of sharia economics, has filled the legal vacuum related to the economic activities of the people. The increased of activity in the Mu'amalah area which is so fast requires a responsive fatwa. It can be seen from the rapid development of financial products for sharia financial institutions today. The legal strength of a fatwa is non-binding because it is not included in the constitution hierarchy in Indonesia which has caused debate for some people. But, several DSN-MUI fatwa have been transformed into part of national law, such as constitution No. 21 of 2008 concerning Banking, and some of which have also been absorbed into Bank Indonesia regulations, Syari'ah Financial Services Authority Regulation (OJK). This paper tries to analyze the role of fatwas in filling the legal vacuum in the development of the shari'ah economy in Indonesia and how the fatwas of the DSN-MUI can be transformed into national law. The author concludes that the role of DSN-MUI as the only institution that issued a fatwa related to the activities of shari'ah financial institutions in Indonesia is very important in the area of national legal politics.

Course-focused and comprehensive, the Textbook on series provides an accessible overview of the key areas on the law curriculum. This chapter focuses on the issue of immigration detention. The deprivation of liberty is one of the most serious infringements of fundamental human rights. In immigration law, individuals lose their liberty through the exercise of a statutory discretion by the Home Office or immigration officers. The chapter considers the statutory powers and executive guidelines, together with human rights and common law rules. The use of detention is an increasingly common phenomenon in the asylum process, and the key role of immigration bail is examined. The former use of indefinite detention for foreign terrorist suspects is discussed at the end of the chapter.

The institution of Hobbes’ Leviathan is marked by the transformation of cunning, equally shared by all in the state of nature, into a rational, sovereign politics. The question I take up here by way of Machiavelli and two of his contemporary readers, Derrida and Lefort, what if cunning was politicized rather than replaced by sovereign reason? In other words, what if cunning, a complex political deception, was not abandoned or given over to the sovereign? I argue that Lefort’s reading of Machiavelli, embracing as it does the central role of a shared cunning or ruse between the people and the prince, offers valuable resources for thinking the foundation of political authority for a secular democratic politics, while in contrast, Derrida’s critique of Machiavelli’s cunning illuminates why he is not able to escape a sovereign, theological foundation for political authority and the law.

Abstract As a concept, knowledge covers vast ground and has multiple meanings. In the present day, it is frequently encountered through the term ‘knowledge economy,’ which is usually used to refer to the importance of knowledge as a contemporary commodity. Public awareness of the importance of intellectual property in the information age is essential to the successful implementation and growth of the knowledge economy. Most people do not have a very clear idea about the role of intellectual property in encouraging creativity and the importance to our economic well-being. While it is necessary to increase public awareness in this area, it will not be easy. Intellectual property is typically perceived as being incomprehensible because just a little part of the people has education in this field. IP education means the skills and competences that young people can be expected to acquire in the classroom that enable them to become familiar with intellectual property, understand its potential to generate income and economic growth and lead them to respect IP rights. This paper will present the role that universities play in the development of the knowledge based economy and the need to have more educational programs in this field.
