This paper aims to reveal the relationship between the determinants of financial performance and stock performance measured with reference to the Price-Earnings (P/E) ratio. It examines Panel Data of 10 years covering from 2010 to 2019 of seven Private Commercial Banks (PCBs) of Bangladesh enlisted in the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE). Several hypotheses and econometric models have been estimated with the Pooled Ordinary Least Squares (Pooled OLS), Generalized Least Squares (GLS), Fixed-effect, and Random-effect, followed by various diagnostic tests to examine the validity of the models selected for this study. Finally, the One-step Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) method has been adopted. The empirical investigation shows that among the entire set of the variables, only the Net Profit Margin (NPM) ratio has a significant impact on the P/E ratio under Random-effect, GLS, and Pooled OLS. Finally, the model developed for the One-step GMM method has revealed that the inclusion of the Lagged P/E ratio, Leverage, NPM ratio, Net Interest Margin (NIM) ratio, Asset Utilization Ratio, and Non-Performing Loan (NPL) ratio have a statistically significant dynamic impact on the P/E ratios of the PCBs. However, the Liquidity ratio and the Loans to Asset ratio divulged no statistical significance under any of the estimated models. This paper aims to reveal how determinants of financial performance affect the stock performance measured with Price-earnings ratio of the commercial banks enlisted in Dhaka Stock Exchange considering Panel Data of 10 years covering from 2010 to 2019 of seven private commercial banks of Bangladesh listed with DSE. Several hypotheses along with econometric models estimated with the Pooled OLS, GLS, Fixed-effect, Random-effect, and finally, One-step GMM method have been adopted followed by various diagnostic tests to examine the validity of the models selected for this investigation. The empirical investigation shows that, among the entire set of variables only Net Profit Margin ratio has significant impact on the P/E ratio under Random-effect, GLS and Pooled-OLS. Finally, the model developed for One-step GMM method has revealed that including lagged P/E ratio, the Leverage, NPM ratio, NIM ratio, Asset Utilization Ratio, and NPL ratio have statistically significant dynamic impact on the Price-earnings ratios of the commercial banks. However, liquidity ratio and Loans to Asset ratio divulged no statistical significance under any of the aforesaid models.

In the context of the sharp development of the Vietnamese stock market in recent years, financial performance of listed firms is drawing the attention of investors, particularly in banking industry. Moreover, the harmony of income diversity or reducing the relying on traditional activities of commercial banks is thriving in the world and strongly influence on Vietnam’s banking, especially when the outbreak of COVID-19 worldwide may result in the freeze of real estate market, which leads to devaluate collaterals as well as the risk of non-performing loans, so-called “credit shocks”. This paper, therefore, examines the impacts of income diversity on financial performance of Vietnamese commercial banks in the period from 2007 to 2019. To conduct this study, annual data are collected of 26 commercial banks, listed in Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE), Ha Noi Stock Exchange (HNX), UPCoM and OTC. The research develops an exploratory model reflecting financial performance of the banks in relation to their income diversity and analyzes data using panel regressions. The results show that there is no relationship between financial performance and income diversity due to its low proportion in total operating income. However, the state ownership makes stronger this relationship despite the small impacts. The findings are expected to add the gap in the existing literature, lacking of investigating the impacts of market power on bank income diversity, and the moderating role of state ownership in this relation in Vietnamese banking sector, which is ignored or opposite in most recent studies. Thereby, the paper also gives some useful implications for investors, bank managers as well as policy makers to catch up the market fluctuations.

Information technology has changed the traditional ways of doing business to a digital and electronic way that has led to globalization. The banking industry has been forced by the wave of electronic payment system in the business environment to change from its traditional ways such as: long queues as customers waited to be served, delay in the clearing house as representatives of different banks waited to settle their dues and manual work that resulted to errors. The main purpose of the study was to determine the effect of electronic banking on the financial performance of commercial banks in Kenya. The specific objectives were to determine the extend of internet, mobile, automated teller machine and debit/credit card banking adoption and its effect on financial performance. The study covered a period of five years that is from the year 2011 to the year 2015 and adopted descriptive research design. The data collected was analyzed by the use of both descriptive and inferential statistics procedures. Primary and secondary data was collected from the 34 commercial banks that responded leading to a respond rate of 79.04% out of the 43 commercial banks. The trade analysis showed that internet banking was recognized and accepted by the Kenyan commercial banks and the Kenyans as a way of transacting. Electronic banking was found to be positive and significantly related to the financial performance of the commercial banks in Kenya. This was attributed by an R Square of 0.688 for Return On Assets, 0.63 for Net Profit and 0.277 for Return On Equity indicating that the independent variables in the study were able to give information of up to 68.8%, 63% and 27.7% respectively while the remaining 31.2%, 27% and 72.3% could not be explained in the study but could be explained using other variables outside the study. All the independent variables were (internet banking, Mobile banking, Automated Teller Machine banking and Debit/Credit banking) found to be positively and significantly related to the Return On Assets while only mobile banking and internet banking were found to be positively and significantly related to Net Profit since their p Values were less 0.05. Automated Teller Machine banking showed a positive relation that was insignificant with the Return On Equity. The study recommends that, electronic banking should be employed by commercial banks through proper management policies since it has shown improved efficiency and financial performance. For further studies, areas of crime technology, quality of banking services, electronic fund transfer and performing loans should be looked at. A lot of studies have actually been done by numerous researchers both in developed and developing countries such as Ethiopia to ascertain the empirical relationship existing between capital structure and firm performance with varying samples and period as well as application of several and divergent statistical estimation. This study is based on the identification of the impact that capital structure have on the financial performance of commercial banks in Ethiopia. In this regard, secondary data is collected from varied sources especially annual reports of the private commercial banks in Ethiopia. The literature review is done in the report, and it is identified operating, and the capital structure heavily affects net profit. Apart from this, return on equity, asset and capitals employed also affected by the capital structure of the banks. Regression analysis and descriptive analysis tools are used to analyse the data that is related to the sixteenprivate commercial banks in Ethiopia. On analysis of data, it is identified that operating and net profit is heavily affected by the capital structure. However, in the case of return on asset, return on equity, and return on capital employed, such kind of relationship is not observed. Thus, it is concluded on the basis of entire work that capital structure have the huge impact on the operating and net profit, but it does not put any large impact on the return on asset, return on equity and return on capital employed. The study recommended that banks follow a specific policy, in order to maintain a balance in the capital structure. It is also recommended that managers must keep a keen eye on the changes that are taking place in the capital structure.

Banks play a role in collecting public funds because banks are institutions that are trusted by the community from various parties in placing funds safely. This study aims to analyze the differences in financial performance by using RGEC consisting of risk profile, good corporate governance, earnings, and capitals between syariah commercial banks and conventional commercial banks. The analytical technique uses independent sample t-test. The result of the analysis shows that there is a difference of NPL between syariah bank and conventional bank. This shows that conventional commercial banks are better at covering the risk of default of credit repayment by debtors than syariah commercial banks. There is an LDR difference between syariah commercial banks and conventional commercial banks. This shows that conventional commercial banks have a slightly better liquidity level compared to syariah commercial banks. The LDR ratio is too large to indicate the lower ability of  the bank's liquidity. There is no GCG difference between syariah commercial banks and conventional commercial banks. This shows that both groups of banks have implemented good corporate governance so that internal management goes according to what is planned. There is a difference of ROA between syariah commercial banks and conventional commercial banks. This shows that the ability of conventional commercial banks has better ability in obtaining net profit with the use of all assets owned by the bank compared to syariah commercial banks. There is no CAR difference between syariah commercial banks and conventional commercial banks. This shows that both groups of banks have met Bank Indonesia's requirements as a sound bank.
