This study addresses how customers develop loyalty toward focal stores within an online shopping mall, and how this construct affects behavioral mall loyalty in both the short- and long-term. We employ a type II Tobit model to dynamically capture the short- and long-term impacts of store loyalty on purchase incidence and purchase amount. We further embed this model within a model of store loyalty formation to elucidate its driving factors. Applying the models to purchase history data of new customers in an online shopping mall, we observe that store loyalty has an immediate negative effect on purchase incidence; however, given a purchase, this variable increases the purchase amount in the long-term. Additionally, the formation of store loyalty appears to be significantly affected by gender, age, cumulative purchase amount, cumulative purchase frequency, and time trend. We discuss the implications of these findings for mall owners in an effort to increase revenue contribution of their tenants.

Environmental degradation occurs is influenced by economic growth and the means of transportation that support it, besides that, the population size also affects the occurrence of environmental degradation. This study aims to determine the effect of economic growth, population growth and total of transportation on environmental degradation in short and long term. This research uses dynamic time series autoregressive distribution lag method. The results showed that the gross domestic product (GDP) variable had a significant positive effect in increasing CO2 gas emissions both in the short and long term. The variable amount of transportation has a positive and insignificant effect on the increase in CO2 gas emissions in the short term and has a negative effect in the long term. Meanwhile, population growth variable has a positive and significant effect in the short term and negative and significant in the long term.

Despite the fact that currency devaluations are likely to have a negative effect on the economy in the long run, Ethiopia devalued its national currency, the birr (ETB), by 15 percent in 2017. They turned to this option in the hope of attracting more investments from abroad, decreasing import bills, improving the current account deficit and giving a boost to the exports of the coffee sector. A couple of months later, the impact seems to be promising because the export has been revived in some areas. However, it has to be stressed that the imported commodities may experience a price increase, there can be a widening balance of payments deficit and rising inflation. The paper aims to shed more light on the short- and long-term impacts of currency devaluations in the developing countries with a special emphasis on Ethiopia. Also, the recent Ethiopian measure is to be analyzed in greater detail highlighting the impacts on export earnings, import bills, the balance of payments, and on the overall competitiveness of the coffee sector.

This study investigates how unprofitable cross-buying, defined as the tendency to buy different product categories during price promotion, affects consumer decisions of whether and how much to buy in the short- and long-term periods. We utilize a type II Tobit model of purchase incidence and purchase amount and apply the model to purchase history data of an online shopping mall’s customers to capture the dynamic impacts of unprofitable cross-buying. The results reveal that unprofitable cross-buying behavior leads to lower purchase probability and purchase amount in the short-term. On the contrary, in the long-term, unprofitable cross-buying behavior appears to have positive impacts on both behavioral outcomes. Additionally, we also discovered the significant effects of customer characteristics and time variables on the extent to which customers engage in this behavior. Theoretical and managerial implications of these findings are discussed.

AbstractThe prognosis of STEMI patients experiencing the no-reflow phenomenon is unfavorable both in the short- and long-term compared to patients who do not develop this pathology, and it is even worse as other cardiovascular risk factors There is a correlation between the no-reflow phenomenon and diabetes mellitus type II and obesity and this conditions represent stong predictors of mortality.

<p><b>This thesis interrogates Eastgate Mall in Christchurch, to develop a revived architectural design for the neglected shopping mall. Shoppers are becoming increasingly familiar with online shopping, with many now preferring this channel over the physical (Blázquez, 2014, p. 109). While shoppers are offered convenience and often a larger range of goods, malls now appear to be spaces solely for urgent shopping (Rouz, 2014, p. 1881). This has decreased footfall and lowered people’s tendency to appear in these spaces for recreational and non- economical purposes. Shopping malls like Eastgate are declining as the “centreless centrepieces of suburbs” that deny surrounding communities their diversity, and economic and cultural prosperity (Chavan et al., 2007, p. 59).</b></p> <p>This thesis argues that current architecture widely used in shopping malls is detrimental to retailers—particularly small local businesses. It acknowledges that retail spaces will no longer be solely for the sale of goods. Therefore, it proposes to enrich the showing and selling of experiences as a way to revive Eastgate Mall and further differentiate its physical retail spaces from those in the online channel. By enriching shoppers’ experiences, the mall can embody the contemporary culture of transience and immediacy that shift its retail spaces away from the static and one-dimensional to the multi-functional and hybrid.</p> <p>The proposed design aims to sever ties with traditional expectations of shopping malls, thereby conforming to the idea that,“[I]f closed spaces [ . . . ] truly perpetuate its society[, we must] look beyond the strictures of architectural form to understand the many attributes of what these spaces represent and what they can be” ( Jewell, 2016, p. 103).</p> <p>Overall, the research in response to the current stagnation of Eastgate and rising popularity of online shopping proposes an experiential mall design; it seeks to differentiate the physical from online retail spaces and contribute to fostering the sense of community that surrounding suburbs are strengthening.</p>

Service providers can adjust the entrance price to the state of the demand in real life service systems where the customers' decision to receive the service, is based on this price, state of demand and other system parameters. We analyzed service provider's short and long term pricing problems in unobservable M/M/1 queues having the rational customers, where, for customers, the unit cost of waiting in the queue is higher than unit cost of waiting in the service. We showed that waiting in the queue has a clear negative effect on customers’ utilities, hence the service provider's price values. We also showed that, in the short term, monopolistic pricing is optimal for congested systems with high server utilization levels, whereas in the long term, market capturing pricing is more profitable.

Abstract The aim of the present study was to examine the short- and long-term effects of changes in vegetation structure caused by shrub removal and mowing on isopod diversity and composition in Natura 2000 habitats of Mátra Landscape Protection Area. Species richness and isopod diversity increased in the short term as a result of annual changes in vegetation; however, the values of both indices were reduced in the long term. The changes in vegetation structure on a regional scale led to a reduced isopod diversity in the short and long term. The changes in vegetation structure caused alterations in community structure in the long term. We conclude that changes of vegetation structure have a negative effect on species richness and the diversity of isopod communities in the long term.

This study was conducted with the purpose of developing and validating multidimensional reputation criteria for evaluating online shopping malls, which have been growing explosively since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. A Delphi study was conducted with a group of 31 professionals, and the initial items for online shopping mall reputation were derived from that study. Those items were used to devise a questionnaire that was administered to 531 consumers. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis resulted in 17 items based on four factors: reliability, technical skills, customer service, and accessibility. Convergent and discriminant validity were verified between the factors. Finally, structural equation modeling was used to verify the nomological validity of the scale. This online shopping mall reputation scale is expected to provide a standard for companies to effectively manage the reputations of online shopping malls in the future and for consumers to choose online shopping malls they can trust.

Some of the shopping malls, airports, hospitals, etc. have underground parking lots where hundreds of vehicles can be parked. However, first-time visitors find it difficult to determine their current location and need to keep moving the vehicle to find an empty parking space. Moreover, they need to remember the parked location, and find a nearby staircase or elevator to move toward the destination. In such a situation, if the user location can be estimated, a new navigation system can be offered, which can assist users. This study presents an underground parking lot navigation system using long-term evolution (LTE) signals. As the proposed system utilizes LTE network signals for which the infrastructure is already installed, no additional infrastructure is required. To estimate the location of the vehicle, the signal strength of the LTE signal is accumulated, and the location of the vehicle is estimated by comparing it with the previously stored database of the LTE received signal strength (RSS). In addition, the acceleration and gyroscope sensors of a smartphone are used to improve the vehicle position estimation performance. The effectiveness of the proposed system is verified by conducting an experiment in a large shopping-mall underground parking lot where approximately 500 vehicles can be parked. From the results of the experiment, an error of less than an average of 10 m was obtained, which shows that seamless navigation is possible using the proposed system even in an environment where GNSS does not function.
