Quantitative approach and the descriptive survey research design were adopted for the study. Simple random sampling technique was used to sample 152 respondents from a population of 357 using Yamane’s formula for determining sample size. Self- administered closed ended questionnaire was used as the data collection instrument and data was analysed with frequencies, percentages, person correlation, standard regression, t-test and analysis of variance.  The study found that training and development techniques used were job rotation and study leave with pay. There was general lack of support from supervisors and colleagues for trainees to transfer skills/knowledge acquired unto their jobs. Training and development significantly relate and affect employees’ performance. It was recommended that management of human resource department of the University of Education, Winneba should adopt some other training and development techniques like mentoring and coaching; and provide the needed resources and encourage work colleagues and supervisors to create the enabling environment and provide the necessary support for trainees to be able to transfer skills acquired through training and development unto their jobs.

The population was stratified into Senior Members (35), Senior Staff (45), and Junior Staff (55). Krejcie and Morgan (1970) table was used to select (32) Senior Members, (40) Senior Staff, and (48) Junior Staff respectively. Simple Random Sampling was used to select the required numbers from their respective populations. The instruments employed for the collection of data were questionnaires validated with the help of experts and pre-tested to ensure reliability. Regression analysis was used to analyse determinants of Job Rotation as assessed by Senior Members, Senior Staff, and Junior Staff computed at p < 0.05. The predictors in the construct were Age, Gender, Socio-cultural relationships, Performance, Training and Motivation of employees, while the ‘Number of Times Rotated’ in the institution formed the dependent variable. The assessment of Senior Members showed that, Performance, Training and Motivation of employees contributed largely to the explanation of the dependent variable ‘Number of Times Rotated’. This was found to be significant at .05, .04, and .03. Equally, Socio-cultural relationships, Performance, Training, and Motivation of employees contributed greatly to the explanation of the dependent variable ‘Number of Times Rotated’ and this was found to be significant at .03, .04, .04, and .03 as assessed by Senior Staff, and .01, .02, .04, and .02 as assessed by Junior Staff. Simple random sampling technique was used to sample 283 respondents across the ten (10) Colleges in the Institution. Data were collected with the aid of questionnaire and analysed using descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentages, and mean. The questionnaire was subjected to a pilot study that revealed psychometric properties of Cronbach's Apha 0.86. Results revealed that 91.1% of the respondents were aware of G&CS and 74.6% of the respondents currently using the services indicated that it was very helpful. The rating of the counselling needs of the respondents revealed that academic issues with a mean of 3.62 is the most important factor, followed by examination pressure management which had a mean of 3.51. The rating of the perception of students on the quality and effectiveness of G&CS indicated that organized orientation services for fresh students ranked first (mean = 2.55), while effective counselling on personal, social, academic and vocational challenges ranked second (mean = 2.49). This study aimed to determine the gender roles on salt farming practices in Western Pangasinan , the benefits from salt farming and some problems encountered by the farmers. The study made use of the descriptive survey research design. Respondents were selected through simple random sampling technique employing questionnaires to collect the needed data. Frequency, percentage, average weighted mean and t-test were used for data analysis. A total of 132 respondents (73 males and 59 females) were interviewed from salt farms situated in Alaminos City, Dasol, Bani and BolinaoPangasinan. Results showed that 34.84% of the respondents are working in the farm for almost 11 to 15 years now, that aside from salt farming 25.75% go for fishing during rainy season.. Findings also revealed that male salt farmers (AWM=3.83) in Western Pangasinan conduct salt bed preparation more frequently than female (AWM=2.69) salt farmers. On the other hand, salt farming practices of the male (AWM=3.74) and female (AWM=2.89) salt farmers are not significantly different. Hence, male and female salt farmers in Western Pangasinan have similar salt farming practices. Most of the male and female salt farmers were benefited because they were able to send their children to their college/vocational education and they were able to deliver salt to other places and that some of them were able to put up a warehouse.
