This work aimed to identify the impact of investments in permanent assets on the number of employees by sector and its impact on employee salaries. We draw the data from the Financial Statements Annual Bulletin published by the Serbian Business Registers Agency, representing aggregated data of all enterprises in Serbia and their analysis by sectors. The data set spans the period from 2013 to 2020. The results show a high positive correlation between investment in permanent assets and the number of employees in the manufacturing sector and information and communication sector, and a negative one in the agricultural industry. We did not find a significant correlation between investments in permanent assets and the number of employees with their salaries.

This study analysed the behaviour of a sample of manufacturing firms in Pakistan in order to understand what determines innovative activity employing a panel data set for the years 2002 and 2006-07. Probit estimation results reveal that size of the firm and human resource quality are important internal factors that increase the likelihood of a firm innovating. Interestingly, whether a firm is exporting or not has no bearing. However, post innovating there is a large increase in number of firms who export. Externally, presence in a geographic cluster is important though further analysis reveals that the impact varies according to firm size. Size per se does not increase likelihood of innovating for medium sized firm who only have an advantage over small sized firms when present in a cluster. Large firms on the other hand continue to have an advantage and the advantage further increases with presence in a cluster. Finally, analysis by product and process innovators reveals that the characteristics of firms undertaking the two types of innovative activity are similar. The only noteworthy difference being that process innovation does not benefit from presence of a firm in a cluster which might be attributable to the more visible nature of product innovation which benefits from technological spillovers that are a characteristic of presence in a cluster. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has taken the center stage in almost every aspect of human endeavor. ICT help companies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of services offered to customers, and thus enhances business processes, managerial decision making, and workgroup collaborations, thus strengthening their competitive positions in rapidly changing and emerging economies. This paper considers the impacts and trends of ICTs on core sectors of the Nigerian economy. Three core industry sectors of the Nigerian economy were examined namely: Banking Industry, Oil and Gas Industry, and Agricultural Industry in order to examine the level of impact ICTs have on the overall Nigerian economy.

Abstract. Satellite observations reveal that China has been leading the global greening trend in the past two decades. We assessed the impact of land cover change on total BVOC emission in China during 2001–2016 and found a significant increasing trend of 1.09 % yr−1 with increases of 1.35, 1.25 and 1.43 % yr−1 for isoprene, monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes, respectively. Comparison of different scenarios showed that vegetation change is the main driver of BVOC emission change in China. Considerable heterogeneity was observed on regional scales, with the highest increasing trends of BVOC emission found in the Qinling Mountains and in the south of China. The BVOC emission for the year 2016 in these two regions was enhanced by 61.89 and 67.64 % compared to that of 2001, respectively. We compared the long-term HCHO vertical columns (VC) from the satellite-based Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI) with the estimation of isoprene emission in summer. The results showed statistically significant positive correlation coefficients over the regions with high vegetation cover fractions. In addition, the isoprene emission and HCHO VC both showed statistically significant increasing trends in the south of China where these two variables have high positive correlation coefficients. This result supports our estimation of the variability and trends of BVOC emission in China. Although anthropogenic sources comprise ∼63 % NMVOC emissions in China, the continued increase of BVOC will enhance the importance of considering BVOC when making policies for controlling ozone pollution in China along with ongoing efforts to reduce anthropogenic emissions.

The aim of paper was to examine the impact of the milk quality on yield of semi-hard naturally dried cheese, produced in cheese plant factory ZZ 'Cijevna' in Podgorica. Tests were conducted on 6 samples of bulk milk of cows and 6 productive batch of cheese. Chemical tests of the bulk milk have been done on the device MilcoScan 4000, and the determination content dry matter of whey and dry matter of cheese on the device MilcoScan FT 120. Theoretical yield of cheese was determined in two ways: 1) based on the content of fat and protein content in milk and 2) based on dry matter content of milk, dry matter of whey and dry matter of cheese. Actual yield of cheese is determined on the base of the total amount of cheese obtained after pressing and the amount of wasted milk. The average value for the fat content in the examined milk amounted to 3.79%, protein 3.24%, 4.26% lactose and dry matter content without fat 8.24%. The average value for the theoretical cheese yield by first method was 10.65% and by second method 9,30%. The average of actual cheese yield amounted to 11.26%. We found a very high positive correlation between content of fat in milk and actual cheese yield (0.929032) and mean positive correlation between content of protein in milk and actual cheese yield (0.613141), content of lactose in milk and actual cheese yield (0.651317) and between dry matter content in milk and actual cheese yield (0.651956).

Resumen: en este artículo se analizó el comportamiento de la adopción de las tecnologías de la información y comunicación en los subsectores manufactureros de Baja California, para determinar sus efectos en los resultados económicos y los cambios que generan en las empresas. Para ello se utilizaron seis dimensiones del modelo desarrollado por Karmarkar y Mangal (2004), y con la tau-b de Kendall se calculó la correlación entre el grado de adopción de dichas tecnologías y los resultados económicos. Aunque éstos no se compararon con los de otros estudios, puesto que aquí sólo se seleccionó cierto tipo de empresas, se logró exponer la situación del sector manufacturero estatal, en relación con el uso de las tecnologías. Por lo que se puede concluir que la adopción de éstas influye positivamente en los resultados de las empresas.Palabras clave: correlación; industrias manufactureras; industria-innovaciones tecnológicas; sector industrial; pequeña y mediana empresa; investigación cualitativa.  The impact of information and communication technologies on the manufacturing industry of Baja CaliforniaAbstract: this paper analyzes the performance of the adoption of information and communication technologies in manufacturing sub-sectors of Baja California in order to determine their effects on the economic results and the changes generated in the companies. For this purpose, six dimensions of the model developed by Karmarkar and Mangal (2004) were utilized, and using the Kendall’s tau-b the correlation between the level of adoption of such technologies and the economic results was calculated. Although these were not compared to those of other studies, since only certain types of companies were selected, the situation of state manufacturing sector was set out in relation to the use of these technologies. Резиме: Рад је истраживање и емпиријска верификација закона Ницхолас Калдора о утицају индустријске производње на раст бруто друштвеног производа. Калдор је формулисао принципе економског раста у облику три закона који настоје утврдити кључне узроке економског раста. Први његов закон тврди да је стопа раста привреде позитивно корелирана са стопом раста њезина производног сектора. Индустрија као најважнија снага развоја привреде се поодавно анализира у литератури о привредном развоју: Hirschman (1961), Rosenstein-Rodan (1943), Th irnjall (2013), Cornnjall (1977). Циљ рада је емпиријски провјерити Калдоров приступ расту и развоју у Федерацији Босне и Херцеговине. Стога је обликован посебан скуп података кога чине дводимензионалне табеле и временске серије. Регресијском анализом је квантификована повезаност између стопа раста бруто друштвеног производа и стопе раста индустријске производње.Summary: The paper the industrialization and the growth of gross domestic product is a research and empirical verification of Nicholas Kaldor laws on the impact of industrial production to GDP growth. Kaldor has formulated the principles of economic growth in the form of three laws that tend to identify key causes of economic growth. His first law asserts that the rate of economic growth is positively correlated with the rate of growth of its manufacturing sector. Industry as the most important force of economic development is widely analyzed in the literature on economic development (Hirschman (1961), Rosenstein-Rodan (1943), Thirwall (2013), Cornwall (1977)). The aim is to empirically test the Kaldor’s approach to growth and development in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is therefore designed a special data set consisting of two-dimensional tables and time series. Using regression analysis was quantified the relationship between the growth rate of gross domestic product and the growth of industrial production.

AbstractSince the Reform and Opening-up in 1978, China has experienced a huge sustainable growth of gross domestic product (GDP) and an incredible development in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). This study aims to utilize an input-output (I-O) approach to explore the role of ICT in Chinese national economy. Specifically, we employ a static I-O framework, and analyze three topics in its application: the inter-industry linkage effect, the production inducing effect, and the supply shortage effect. We pay particular attention to the ICT manufacturing sector and ICT service-providing sector by taking the sectors as exogenous and investigating their economic impacts, respectively. The results suggest that (1) the ICT manufacturing sector has a high backward linkage effect, an intermediate forward linkage effect, a relatively low production inducing effect, and a low supply shortage effect, it suggests that ICT manufacturing sector has a powerful capacity for pulling the production activities of the whole economy. (2) The inter-industry linkage effect and supply shortage effect of ICT service-providing is low, but the production inducing effect of ICT service-providing is high, which suggests that the impact of an increase in ICT service-providing investment on the total output of all other sectors is large.

Purpose: This study specifically aims to identify the impact of Audit Quality on Audit Delay. Audit Quality is measured by the proxy log natural fee audit (LNFE). Methods: This is a causal research with quantitative analysis. This study involves six companies listed in the sub-sectors of Cable under the manufacturing sector in the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period of 2013-2019. It applied panel data set in a regression model using STATA MP - Parallel Edition Ver14.00 application. Results: The findings show that the Audit quality has a significant negative impact on the Audit Delay with an average delay of 83.62 days. Implications: This study could be extended further by considering all manufacturing firms of IDX which may provide more insight into the audit quality with other proxies.

This chapter tests the impact of ICT on economic growth for underdeveloped and developing countries by using a panel dataset for the period of 1995-2006. The authors first develop the theory of the relationship between ICT and economic growth. They show that ICT-capital has a positive effect both on long-run and transitional income per capita, if it is considered as a factor of production. Next, the authors estimate a panel data set with 131 underdeveloped and developing countries under the assumption that ICT is one of the determining factors of economic growth. They find that ICT has positive and significant effect on economic growth even after the use of some control variables.
