Mathematicians and mathematical philosophers have often called attention to the fact that mathematical discoveries sometimes seem to anticipate important discoveries in physics. This is usually interpreted as meaning that the universe is “rational at the core” or that it was “created by a mathematician.” Such speculations are extremely enticing; but I wish to make an entirely different application of this interesting observation at the present time.

Fair punishment for a condemned has been long debated in the universe of discourse of law and global politics. The debate on the philosophical level was no less lively. Many schools of thought philosophy question, investigate, reflect and assess systematically the ideal model for the subject just punishment in violation of the law. One of the interesting and urgent legal thought Jeremy Bentham, a British philosopher renowned trying to provide a solution in the middle of the debate was the doctrine or theory of utilitarianism. The core idea is that the fair punishment should be a concern for happiness of a condemned itself, and not just for revenge. Bentham thought has relevance in several dimensions such as dimensions of humanism, moral and utility.

At 0400 hours on Wednesday, March 28, 1979, an extremely small and initially thought unimportant malfunction occurred at the nuclear power plant at Three Mile Island (TMI). Within a short period of time, that malfunction would turn into an event of momentous impact with repercussions felt over most of the world. The events of that malfunction would cause TMI to be labelled as the worst commercial nuclear incident in history and transform it into the nuclear test tube of the universe. What really happened at Three Mile Island? Thirty-six seconds after 0400 hours, several water pumps stopped functioning in the unit 2 nuclear power plant. In the minutes, hours and days that followed, a series of events—compounded by equipment failure, inappropriate procedures and human errors—escalated into the worst crisis yet experienced by the nation's nuclear power industry. This resulted in the loss of reactor coolant, overheating of the core, damage to the fuel (but probably no melting) and release outside the plant of radioactive gases. Hydrogen has was formed, primarily by the reaction between the zirconium casing that holds the radioactive fuel and steam. There, however, was no danger of the bubble inside the reactor vessel exploding, because of the absence of oxygen within the reactor.

AbstractEuclid is the ESA M2 mission and a milestone in the understanding of the geometry of the Universe. In total Euclid will produce up to 26 PB per year of observations. The Science Archive Systems (SAS) belongs to the Euclid Archive System (EAS) that sits in the core of the Euclid Science Ground Segment (SGS). The SAS is being built at the ESAC Science Data Centre (ESDC), which is responsible for the development and operations of the scientific archives for the Astronomy, Planetary and Heliophysics missions of ESA. The SAS is focused on the needs of the scientific community and is intended to provide access to the most valuable scientific metadata from the Euclid mission. In this paper we describe the architectural design of the system, implementation progress and the main challenges from the data management point of view in the building of the SAS.

<p>This article seeks to analyze Mulla Sadra’s philosophical existentialism. Sadra seeks to provide answers to formulate a concept called the philosophy of wisdom. In outline the teaching philosophy of Sadra include authenticity of the form (<em>asâlat al-wujûd</em>) that the answer to differences in the methods used by the essentialist and existentialist. In this case authenticity of the form (<em>asâlat al-wujûd</em>) spawned several sections related to each other, among other pantheism (<em>wahdat al-wujûd</em>), doubts exist (<em>tashkîk al-wujûd</em>), and movement core (<em>al-harakah al-jawharîyah</em>). Through <em>wahdat al-wujûd</em> (pantheism), Sadra then change the view of the beginning made authenticity essence (<em>asâlat al-mâhîyah</em>) as the core of the reality to an authenticity presence (<em>asâlat al-wujûd</em>). As for <em>tashkîk al-wujûd</em> (doubts exist) is in response to the notion that “form” is God, while the universe is a shadow of it. Sadra gives a different view, he said the absence of the universe (reality) man can not find the “form” the truth, the God who became a grand synthesis of some of the concepts put forward by Islamic thinkers.</p>

From  this perspective,  it  calls  for  the  discussion  the  fragility  of  the  recognition  of differences  and  the  importance  of  the  participation  of  the  philosophy  of education as a catalyst for discussions on inclusive education. Palabras clave: García Márquez, personajes femeninos,Jung, arquetiposÚrsula, Ángela, María del Rosario and Sierva María:García Marquez’s Feminine CreationsAbstract: This paper analyzes four protagonists inGarcía Márquez’ works as representation of the author’sgendered universe. It is concluded that they are womenwho destroy many conventions about women and femininity, and they are analyzed on the basis of Jean ShinodaBolen’s conception of Jungian archetypes as the key tounderstand feminine psychology. In the first place, thefigure of Ursula Iguarán is analyzed as both the greatmother-and-grandmother, the spine of family sanity, and asthe authority in Macondian society, filling the vacuum leftby her male descendants; she is compared to Hestia, Greekgoddess of order in the hearth, the temple and the state. Inthe second place, we find the analysis of Ángela Vicario,a “non-virgin” who later “recovers” her “virginity” bywriting letters to her estranged lover, in the sense thatshe constructs her spiritual autonomy; she is compared tothe virgin goddesses (Athena, Artemisia and Hestia) whorepresent women’s independence. Finally, the characterof María del Rosario Castañeda y Montero, “Big Mama,”hyperbolic incarnation of maternal functions but above allof Colombia as a nation, its politicians, its elite classes. She is analyzed in terms of the Virgin Mary and Demeter, universal mother providing nourishment and protection, and Athena, the goddess of independence and autonomy. Finally Sierva María is the core of the universe the authorregales us with in Of Love and Other Demons.Key Words: García Márquez, feminine characters,Jung, archetypes

This paper wants to position environmental aspects as the main doctrine (ushūl) of Islamic law which is possible to influence and change the mainstream of human beings to behave well towards the existence of the environment. Ontologically, the hifẓ al-bī'ah paradigm is built on the basis of the maṣlaḥah concept which is the core of the concept of maqāṣid ash-sharī'ah formulated in al-kulliyyāt al-khamsa (Five basic benefits), namely guarding religion (hifẓ ad-din) , guarding the soul (hifẓ an-nafs), guarding offspring (hifẓ an-nasl), guarding reason (hifẓ al-'aql) and safeguarding wealth (hif (al-māl). These five things are a necessity to enforce benefit. Specifically the correlation of al-kulliyyāt al-khamsa related to environmental conservation, are: First, Environment is a key word in building a religious society order. Why not, belief in the creator must begin with an introduction to the universe. Second, the environment is the basis of survival. Third, there is an appropriate punishment for perpetrators of environmental damage.

Abstract An international consortium of more than 150 organizations worldwide is studying the feasibility of various future particle colliders to expand our understanding of the inner workings of the Universe. At the core of the Future Circular Collider (FCC) study is the design of a 100 km long circular particle collider infrastructure that could extend CERN’s current accelerator complex with an integral research program that spans 70 years. The first step would be an intensity-frontier electron-positron collider allowing to study with precision the Higgs couplings with many of the Standard Model particles and search with high-precision for new physics while the ultimate goal is to build a proton collider with a c.m.s collision energy seven times larger than the Large Hadron Collider. Hosted in the same tunnel and profiting from the new infrastructure, FCC-hh would allow to explore a new energy regime where new physics may be at play.

Information can be understood as that which reduces uncertainty, no matter what origin it has. In the field of human communication, information is only meaningful if it is part of a finished or intentional action. Meaning should be gathered from the empirical perspective of the use of language. If we study the processing of signification through transmission of the normal use of language, we will see that it takes place communicating a set of prototype categories, the core or central facts, which defines meaning as empirical hypothesis. But if there are central facts showing the use of words, then other facts –more or less peripheral– should also exit, whose knowledge is necessary in order to communicate in contexts far away from the “denotative conceptual norm”. Hence meaning can be represented by a fuzzy subset of the universe of discourse partition set. This concept of meaning may be integrated in a formal model of semantic source and information may be measured by non-probabilistic entropy.
