The cornerstone of any religion is its anthropological concept, which seeks to determine the essential orientations of man, to outline the ideological framework of its existence, to represent the idea of its essence, purpose in earthly life. The main task of the religious system is the act of involving and subordinating man to the spiritual divine realm as the realm of the transcendental existence of God. Belief in the real presence of the latter implies a new understanding of oneself, which ultimately leads the religious individual to the desire to be involved in this transcendental existence, to have intimate relations with him, to have a consciousness inherent in God. Note that in this context, all human being is interpreted as a certain arena for this realization. Therefore, the religious life of the individual acquires the status of religious activity.

The authors have analyzed the dynamics of the growth of number of mosques built by religious associations in post-Soviet Kazakhstan and noted a transition from their unregulated and chaotic construction (proliferation) to their precise association with specific maddhabs, and their construction norms conceptualized by religious institutions represented by the Spiritual Administration of the Muslims of Kazakhstan (DUMK). The types of cultic facilities and the actors are discussed and ranked according to the type of their involvement and partnership. We should note that the participation of various actors adds weight to the status of mosques as important public facilities. The authors have paid particular attention to the religious communities’ revised registration realized under the Law of the RK on Religious Activities and Religious Associations of 2011, which optimized the religious space, consolidated the positions of traditional Islam and, hence, standardized the rules related to mosque construction. Keywords: mosque, public space, post-Soviet realities, re-Islamization, re-appropriation, “mosque diplomacy,” religious communities, traditional Islam, DUMK.

Both the Chinese state and the Vatican have an interest in maintaining more regular control over local Catholic community life. Their interests partially converge in seeking a regularized process for selecting Catholic bishops in the officially recognized part of the Chinese Church. This overlapping of interests is the basis for the “provisional agreement” between the Vatican and China on the selection of bishops signed on September 22, 2018. The agreement fails to address the area where Sino-Vatican interests diverge, i.e., the status of the thirty-six “underground” bishops, recognized by the Vatican but not by the Chinese government. Meanwhile, grassroots Catholic communities in China are deeply embedded in local social structures and their leaders have long exercised a considerable degree of agency in managing local affairs and adapting Catholic practices to local culture. The interaction between local communities and the long-term development of the Chinese Catholic church will depend, on the one hand, on the complex cooperative and competitive arrangements between the Vatican and the Chinese state and, on the other hand, on the interaction between the agency of local communities and the forces of control from above.

Abstract As more individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities are physically included in community life, in schools, neighborhoods, jobs, recreation, and congregations, the challenge of going beyond physical inclusion to true social inclusion becomes more apparent. This article summarizes the status of the research about community participation and social inclusion, summarizes some debates and points of contention, notes emerging research issues, and highlights needed areas of research. It is clear that most research on these topics has been conducted with individuals who are in paid formal services, and there are great needs for understanding the community participation of individuals who live on their own or with their families, as well as researching social inclusion by focusing on the attitudes and experiences of community members themselves, not just individuals with disabilities and paid providers.

Acer platanoides L. A. platanoides Globosum, A. pseudoplatanus L., A. saccharinum L. В качестве солитеров использовать A. platanoides L. и его декоративные формы, A. platanoides Globosum, A. pseudoplatanus L., A. negundo L. (золотистая и пестролистная формы). Для живых изгородей A. ginnala L., A. tataricum L., A. campestre L. Maples are one of the best ornamental trees used in landscaping settlements in Russia and abroad. An urgent task in the arid region is a bioecological rationale for optimizing the biodiversity of the Acer L. genus in public gardening (parks, squares, boulevards, street plantings) and clarifying the recommendations of production on the implementation of gardening works involving Acer L. The article presents an assortment of woody species of the genus Acer L. recommended for optimizing planting of trees in RostovonDon and Novocherkassk. The rating of the decorative qualities of maple trees has been established in comparison with other species used in gardening as well as decorative durability of trees in urban environments. The highest scores on decorativeness are among maple and sycamore maple (202 and 201 points). Decorative durability of maples ranges from 45 to 80 years. The introduction of trees of the genus Acer L. into landscaping contributes to the enrichment of the range of recreational and landscaping plantings of the urban environment. An assortment of resistant ornamental woody plants of the genus Acer L. has been developed for public facilities in Rostov city agglomeration for various types of planting. It is recommended to plant in street plantings: Acer platanoides L . A. platanoides Globosum, A. pseudoplatanus L., A. saccharinum L. As soliter use A. platanoides L. and its decorative forms, A. platanoides Globosum, A. pseudoplatanus L., A. negundo L. (golden and variegated forms). For hedges A. ginnala L., A. tataricum L., A. campestre L. Experiments with the use of growth stimulants showed that the best indicators of changes in linear dimensions and accumulation of phytomass were obtained using Krezacin 0.003 and SAN 0.01. Acer L. achieved the best development on a fertilized background using SAN preparations of 0.01, Humate 0.02 and 0.03. The issues of a comprehensive assessment of the status of tree species of the genus Acer L. and the basic agrotechnical technologies of growing planting material for gardening are substantiated. Developed measures to optimize the species composition of planting trees contribute to the improvement of the decorative functions of parkland.

Since the present world order has been shaped and is being sustained by nation-state actors to preserve their domestic social structures and ensure a high standard of life to their peoples, a structural transformation of this world order will inevitably involve a reordering of these societies and the adoption of a different life-style by their peoples. This paper examines the possibility of such a transition happening in the most important and the most powerful of the actors, the United States of America. It examines the various domestic movements that challenge, both on the plane of thinking and on the plane of action, the myths, the value systems and the meaning systems from which the organizing principles and sanctions of the social institutions are derived. It finds that although the various groups projecting, and also living, alternative life-styles project certain values that resonate well with the American public at large, other vested interests tap these values to buttress the status quo, thereby pushing these groups to the fringes of society. It comes to the conclusion that certain events in the international arena may exert greater influence on the US society than domestic groups which plead for alternative life-styles.
