In this paper, a versatile quadrature oscillator using single Differential Difference Second Generation Dual-X Current Conveyor (DD-DXCCII) as an active element, two grounded capacitors and three grounded resistors is presented. The proposed oscillator provides two current outputs and three voltage outputs in quadrature relationship simultaneously so named as versatile quadrature oscillator. The proposed versatile quadrature oscillator exhibits the feature of orthogonal control over the frequency of oscillation and condition of oscillation. Effects of non-idealities along with sensitivity analysis are also analyzed. The proposed circuit has low active and passive sensitivities. Parasitic study is further explored. The simulation results with 0.18μm CMOS process parameters using PSPICE are also given. Possible realization of proposed oscillator using AD-844 and LM13600 along with some simulation results are also given for completeness sake.

Background: This article describes the circuit construction of the sinusoidal quadrature oscillator using two Voltage Differencing Gain Amplifiers (VDGAs) as active devices. Methods: Since the presented oscillator circuit uses only two external grounded capacitors as passive elements, it is quite suitable for monolithic integration point of view. The condition of oscillation and the frequency of oscillation are non-interactive, and can be controlled electronically by tuning two separate biasing currents. Non-ideal analysis and sensitivity performance are also discussed. Results: The feasibility of the designed oscillator is justified by the PSPICE simulation results based on TSMC 0.35-µm CMOS process parameters. Conclusion: The effects of the VDGA non-idealities on the proposed circuit are also provided, and the computer simulations based on TSMC 0.35-mm CMOS model parameters are included to evaluate the performance of the circuit.

In this paper, a current-mode quadrature oscillator using second-generation current conveyors (CCIIs) is presented. The proposed oscillator consists of two CCIIs, two grounded capacitors and two grounded resistors. The circuit is suitable for integrated circuit implementation by using grounded capacitors. In addition, a new current-controlled current-mode quadrature oscillator using two current controlled second generation current conveyors (CCCIIs) and two grounded capacitors can be obtained by replacing CCIIs and resistors series at X terminals with CCCIIs. The condition of oscillation and frequency of oscillation can be orthogonally controlled. The frequency of oscillation can be controlled by grounded resistors and external bias currents. The proposed circuits have been simulated by SPICE simulations. The simulation results are confirmed the proposed theory.

This paper introduces a new electronically tuneable third order quadrature oscillator and biquadratic filter with MOS-C realization using all grounded passive components. Voltage-mode second order low-pass, high-pass, band-pass filters using second generation current conveyor and a current/voltage-mode third order quadrature sinusoidal oscillator using multi-output second generation current conveyor are synthesized from the proposed circuit topology. All synthesized circuits are compatible with integration and the center frequency can be electronically tuned by the gate voltage of the MOS transistors. The proposed circuits do not need any component matching condition. Oscillation condition and frequency of oscillation can be independently controlled. Workability of the proposed circuits is validated by PSPICE software using 0.18 micrometer MOSIS CMOS process parameters at ±0.9 V supply voltage. Tuneability of the oscillator is demonstrated for a tested frequency range both in voltage-mode and current-mode operations.

This paper presents first-order voltage-mode filters using a single current conveyor with an additional X-stage, and passive elements. The new circuits have multifunction capability, and also realize low-shelf, high-shelf and band-shelf functions. The study is carried out on the effects of non-idealities, parasitic elements, and loading on the performance of proposed circuits. Active and passive sensitivities are also analyzed. The active element, extra-X current conveyor used for designing new circuits is simpler than most of the one active element and two passive elements’ based circuits. Detailed comparisons are carried out with relevant available works, and the new circuits are found to be more compact and exhibit higher frequency performances. The simulation results using 0.25[Formula: see text][Formula: see text]m CMOS parameters with [Formula: see text]1.25[Formula: see text]V power-supply are shown to verify the proposed circuits. The proposed circuits are also verified through simulations. Experimental support is given using AD-844 ICs to strengthen the validity of the proposed circuits.

A new mixed-mode biquad circuit is presented. The circuit uses four dual-output second-generation currentcontrolled current-conveyors (DOCCCIIs) and two grounded capacitors and can realize lowpass, highpass, bandpass and notch responses from the same topology. The circuit can be driven by voltage or current and its output can be voltage or current. The parametersωoandωo/Qoenjoy independent electronic tunability. Simulation results are included.

To extend the existing knowledge on first-order voltage-mode all-pass filters, this paper presents two novel first-order voltage-mode all-pass sections, each employing single fully differential second-generation current conveyor (FDCCII) being used as the newly obtained fully differential voltage conveyor (FDVC), a resistor and a grounded capacitor. Both the proposed circuits possess high-input and low-output impedance feature, which makes the proposed circuits ideal for voltage-mode systems. Non-ideal study along with simulation results is given for validation.

A new simple dual-output second generation current conveyor (DO-CCII) circuit is proposed. Designed in a standard 0.5-μm CMOS process, the circuit operates at ±1.5 V supply voltages with a total power consumption of 106 nW. Main characteristics of the proposed DO-CCII are its simplicity, small silicon area consumption, and not suffering from the body effect of MOS transistors. The proposed circuit is employed to implement a first-order low-pass filter with upper -3 dB cut-off frequency of as low as 3.2 Hz.

New RC oscillator circuits are presented. Each circuit uses two second-generation positive current-conveyors, three grounded capacitors and four grounded resistors. The circuits enjoy independent control of the frequency and the condition of oscillation and are very attractive for integration. The circuits can realize high and low frequencies of oscillation. Simulation results are included.
