Even though composing and musical form are one of the most controversial issues of the era, the composer or the instrumentalist has to grasp and examine the structural elements of the musical form correctly in order to grasp the spirit of the music to give what is desired during the performance. The stylistic parts of the music and their relations with each other have been researched on the basis of the motifs, which are the smallest building blocks of the musical form. When the musical form is expressed as "time made sound" (Langer, 1953: 135), it becomes necessary to write the formal unity in a way that appeals to the eye by taking the help of letters and numbers to explain the distribution of temporal elements in the form. Explaining the formal elements in the article with literary language and making them visible will help us to understand the perceptual form of music by helping to explain the temporal setup of Bartok's compositional logic with Gestalt theory. Thus, examining the structures that make up the whole with the principles of Gestalt theory, such as proximity and sameness, and making them visible with shapes will enable the music to be depicted and understood from a holistic perspective, regardless of the structure of the form. The act of schematizing what is heard, based on loudness and lengths, will enable us to see music as an element of perception, not theoretically. The aim of the study is to show the perceived time with the help of Gestalt theory, to make a holistic inference about how the individual perceives music, and to provide a perceptual analysis method to music independent of music theory. Keywords: Composer, Bartok, Music, Form, Form, violin, duet, string, Gestalt

AbstractA topological analysis of the crystal structures of Li, Li–Sn compounds, Li8Sn3−xSbx and metastable c-Li3Sb showed that these structures can be described by a hierarchical scheme of building blocks based on atom blocks and polyhedra blocks, respectively. These blocks are linked in distinct ways to form the individual 3D atom arrangement. A common model was established for the construction of the mentioned structures from bespoke building blocks, for which bcc-Li is the aristotype. This latter structure can be described on the basis of hexa-capped cubes from which variants are derived through substitution of Li by Sn (or Sb). These are then combined into polyhedra blocks that are in turn assembled into polyhedra sequences. These latter are repeated and linked in three dimensions to form the whole crystal structure. At xSn ≥ 0.5, this mechanism changes and structural elements from bcc-Li and β-Sn can be observed in LiSn and Li2Sn5. In this work, we present the similarities and differences between the various crystal structures, the topological model with its construction rules and its limitations.

Universities have a crucial role in the modern world. In England, entrance to universities is by nation-wide competition which means English universities have an exceptional influence on schools--a striking theme of the book. This important book first investigates the university as an institution and then tracks the individual on their journey to and through university. In A University Education, David Willetts presents a compelling case for the ongoing importance of the university, both as one of the great institutions of modern society and as a transformational experience for the individual. The book also makes illuminating comparisons with higher education in other countries, especially the US and Germany. Drawing on his experience as UK Minister for Universities and Science from 2010 to 2014, the author offers a powerful account of the value of higher education and the case for more expansion. He covers controversial issues in which he was involved from access for disadvantaged students to the introduction of L9,000 fees. The final section addresses some of the big questions for the future, such as the the relationship between universities and business, especially in promoting innovation.. He argues that the two great contemporary trends of globalisation and technological innovation will both change the university significantly. This is an authoritative account of English universities setting them for the first time in their new legal and regulatory framework.

This active learning exercise is designed to deconstruct the impact of social determinants through the assumption of randomly selected personas. As an active learning exercise, it provides opportunities for discussion, problem solving, writing, and synthesis, while incorporating multiple learning style preferences. Part 1 involves assessing the individual social determinants at work. Part 2 involves exploring ways said determinants can enhance community health through collaboration. Assumption of personas unlike one’s own facilitates an open discussion of social position and ranges of factors influential to health without potentially evoking a sense of defensiveness associated with personal privilege (or the lack thereof).

Design and construction of automated synthesizers using the tilted plate centrifugation technology is described. Wash solutions and reagents common to all synthesized species are delivered automatically through a 96-channel distributor connected to a gear pump through two four-port selector valves. Building blocks and other specific reagents are delivered automatically through banks of solenoid valves, positioned over the individual wells of the microtiterplate. These instruments have the following capabilities: Parallel solid-phase oligonucleotide synthesis in the wells of polypropylene microtiter plates, which are slightly tilted down towards the center of rotation, thus generating a pocket in each well, in which the solid support is collected during centrifugation, while the liquid is expelled from the wells. Eight microtiterplates are processed simultaneously, providing thus a synthesizer with a capacity of 768 parallel syntheses. The instruments are capable of unattended continuous operation, providing thus a capacity of over two millions 20-mer oligonucleotides in a year.

The interaction of multi-LacNAc (Galβ1-4GlcNAc)-containing N-(2-hydroxypropyl) methacrylamide (HPMA) copolymers with human galectin-1 (Gal-1) and the carbohydrate recognition domain (CRD) of human galectin-3 (Gal-3) was analyzed using NMR methods in addition to cryo-electron-microscopy and dynamic light scattering (DLS) experiments. The interaction with individual LacNAc-containing components of the polymer was studied for comparison purposes. For Gal-3 CRD, the NMR data suggest a canonical interaction of the individual small-molecule bi- and trivalent ligands with the lectin binding site and better affinity for the trivalent arrangement due to statistical effects. For the glycopolymers, the interaction was stronger, although no evidence for forming a large supramolecule was obtained. In contrast, for Gal-1, the results indicate the formation of large cross-linked supramolecules in the presence of multivalent LacNAc entities for both the individual building blocks and the polymers. Interestingly, the bivalent and trivalent presentation of LacNAc in the polymer did not produce such an increase, indicating that the multivalency provided by the polymer is sufficient for triggering an efficient binding between the glycopolymer and Gal-1. This hypothesis was further demonstrated by electron microscopy and DLS methods.

The fine structure of the tapetum of the cat eye has been investigated by electron microscopy. The tapetum is made up of modified choroidal cells, seen as polygonal plates grouped around penetrating blood vessels which terminate in the anastomosing capillary network of the choriocapillaris. The tapetal cells are rectangular in cross-section, set in regular brick-like rows, and attain a depth of some thirty-five cell layers in the central region. This number is gradually reduced peripherally, and is replaced at the margin of the tapetum by normal choroidal tissue. The individual cells are packed with long slender rods 0.1 µ by 4 to 5 µ. The rods are packed in groups and with their long axes oriented roughly parallel to the plane of the retinal surface. Each cell contains several such groups. Cells at the periphery or in the outer layers of the tapetum are frequently seen to contain both tapetal rods and melanin granules, the latter typical of the choroidal melanocytes. Also melanocyte granules may have intermediate shapes. These observations plus the similar density of the two inclusions lead to the belief that the tapetal rods may be melanin derivatives. A fibrous connective tissue layer lies between the tapetum and the retina. The subretinal capillary network, the choriocapillaris, rests on this layer and is covered by the basement membrane of the retinal epithelium. The cytoplasm of the retinal epithelium exhibits marked absorptive modifications where it comes in contact with the vessels of the choriocapillaris. This fibrous layer and the basement membrane of the retinal epithelium apparently comprise the structural elements of Bruch's membrane.

The power blackout on 4th August 2019 in Banten, Jakarta, West Java, few areas of Central Java caused lots of impacts to citizens. This case is directly related to the public interest, so that the majority of mass media including cyber media reported related information. The purpose of this study is to describe how Okezone.com constructs controversial facts or issues to frame a story into news and to discuss how to apply the Journalistic Code of Ethics (KEJ) in framing the news. The theory used is news as media content as well as online media and journalism. This research is approaching qualitative descriptive with Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki framing model analysis method, the author then examines the application of KEJ clause 1 to 4 in the framing data of the related news. The results showed that Okezone.com framed the coverage of the August 4th, 2019 power blackout using the principle of covering both sides. Okezone.com packed controversial issues related to the point of view that cornered and lended negative public opinion to PLN. Then, Okezone.com was still quite good in applying KEJ clause 1 to 4, because only the rules of clause 2 are indicated to be ignored in the reporting of electricity blackout on August 4th, 2019.

Abstract Contemporary society is plagued by a number of issues and inconsistencies on both an environmental and a socio-economic level. Reliance on bank loans forces debtors to seek means to repay their debts, thus facilitating the current boundless economic growth in which long-term, environmental considerations typically come second. On the individual level, since virtually nothing is free, everyone has to ensure his or her own livelihood, mostly in the form of wage labour. For fear of poverty, the unemployed must adjust to the needs of the job market and risk not being able to fully explore their potential. Other socio-economic groups also face stigmatisation, and inequality is rampant as a result of the pervasive market-based pricing mechanisms. In view of these issues, it seems unjustified to accept these terms and conditions in the future, especially since the West has to cater to its ageing population and the ensuing pressure this will exert on welfare systems. Therefore, as a transdisciplinary team assisted by various experts and armed with insights from a wide <target target-type="page-num" id="p-2"/>variety of sources, we propose an alternative model of society based on the values of fairness, inclusion and transparency, with the goal of developing a representative systems map for a future, resilient and equitable society. The exact workings of this society are captured by several building blocks, which together endeavour to cover the full range of functions and responsibilities associated with society today, and jointly promote democratisation while guaranteeing equal political representation for all members of society.

In the paper we discuss how to support the process of creating tools which transform natural language (NL) queries into SPARQL queries (hereinafter referred to as a transformation tool). In the introduction, we describe the relevance of the task of understanding natural language queries by information systems, as well as the advantages of using ontologies as a means of representing knowledge for solving this problem. This ontology-based data access approach can be also used in systems which provide natural language interface to databases. Based on the analysis of problems related to the integration and testing of existing transformation tools, as well as to support the creation and testing own transformation modules, the concept of a software platform that simplifies these tasks is proposed. The platform architecture satisfies the requirements for ease of connecting third party transformation tools, reusing individual modules, as well as integrating the resulting transformation tools into other systems, including testing systems. The building blocks of the created transformation systems are the individual transformation modules packaged in Docker containers. Program access to each module is carried out using gRPC. Modules loaded into the platform can be built into the transformation pipeline automatically or manually using the built-in third party SciVi data flow diagram editor. Compatibility of individual modules is controlled by automatic analysis of application programming interfaces. The resulting pipeline is combined according to specified data flow into a single multi-container application that can be integrated into other systems, as well as tested on extendable test suites. The expected and actual results of the query transformation are available for viewing in graphical form in the visualization tool developed earlier.
