Purpose: The impact of the educational environment in student learning is well documented. However, there is a scarcity in the literature exploring the educational environment in chiropractic training institutions. This study aimed to identify the perceived educational environment in a chiropractic training institution and the possible perceptual differences among different demographic groups. Methods: The perceived educational environment was surveyed using Dundee Ready Education Environment (DREEM), which is a validated, self-administered, and Likert-type inventory. DREEM items focus on subdomains related to learning, teachers, self-confidence, academic atmosphere, and social environment. The results were analyzed and interpreted in relation to standard norms of DREEM and demographic variables. Results: The survey was completed by 124 chiropractic undergraduate students (response rate 83%). Statistically, the inventory items showed high correlation and the subdomains showed a close relationship. Overall the DREEM score was very high: 156.1/200 (78%). The subdomain scores were also at very high levels. However, the scoring of four items by students was consistently poor: lack of a support system for stressed students, 1.8 (SD 1.1); authoritarian teachers, 1.8 (SD 1.2); inadequate school time-tabling, 2.0 (SD 1.1); and overemphasis on factual learning, 2.0 (SD 1.0). There were no statistically significant differences in DREEM scores between gender, age, minority, and ethnicity groups. Conclusions: In general, students perceived that a sound educational environment is fostered by the institution and its educational program for all students despite their demographic variations. However, certain specific elements of the educational process may need to be addressed to improve the educational experience.

Evolving digital technologies are infiltrating schools wave after wave. The changes taking place are viewed as the schools’ digital renewal process (SDRP). The SDRP is complex (multidimensional). It includes changes in the educational environment (physical and virtual), the educational process, and the way the school operates. The SDRP goes uneven, with individual schools at different stages. One-time observation of the SDRP allows you to fix its current state (statics). The longitudinal observations allows you to see changes in the schools’ digital renewal (kinematics). The connection of the observed changes with the impact on the general education system makes it possible to discuss the development of digital renewal under the influence of individual control actions (dynamics). The stages of penetration of digital technologies into the work of the school: computerization, early and mature informatization, digital transformation (transition to the “Smart School”) can be considered as the stages of maturity of the SDRP. The article discusses a framework for describing the processes of digital renewal of schools in an evolving digital environment and an assessment of the SDRP’s maturity.

One of the ways to solve the problem of preparing competitive graduates of the University is to create an effective information and educational environment. At the present stage, such an environment should include the means of realization of educational, scientific and management activities; support environment for collective and individual communication; objects of educational activity and interaction; training platforms and security tools. Taking into account the requirements for ensuring not only the functioning but also the system development of the university, the general principles of management and the principles of the development of educational systems as the guiding principles of designing the information and education environment we are guided by the principles: system approach; modular structuring of information and data; modifications, addition and permanent updates; adequacy; providing the necessary and sufficient information; sharing data. A prerequisite for the creation of the university's information and educational environment is the availability of electronic content, technologies and the electronic communication of all participants in the educational process. Modeling a qualitative and effective information and educational environment is possible only with the development of all its components - managerial, content, organizational, technological. To the managerial component, we include educational policy, management standards and electronic control that perform planning, organizational, motivational and controlling functions. The semantic component includes scientific, educational, controlling and information and methodological resources that are aimed at providing cognitive, creative and value functions. Organizational component contains, respectively, the organizational structure, normative base, corporate standards and performs the integration, systematization and information functions. In the technological component, we allocate centralized and decentralized services, which are aimed at implementation of modeling, productive and instrumental functions. An example of designing such a model is an effective information and educational environment aimed at training competitive specialists at the Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University.

The interest in pre-service teacher training has become influential in teaching English as a foreign language, and the purpose of this training course is to prepare qualified teachers to teach effectively through the application of this technique by undergraduate students. This research aims to find out the effect of using the seven principles of good practice as a teaching technique on the fourth stage student-teachers’ performance at the College of Education for Women/University of Baghdad, during the academic year 2017-2018. The sample includes (60) students selected according to the stratified sampling method. The observational checklist used by the department to assess the student teachers’ performance during the practicum period is used as a study instrument.  This quantitative study used the quasi-experimental design of two independent samples, experimental control groups and the control group trained traditionally. The former group is designed to verify the hypothesis that states, “there is no statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the experimental group trained by seven principles of good practice and that of the control group trained traditionally in their teaching performance”. The study has concluded that the hypothesis is rejected according to the result of the T-test of two independent samples. Accordingly, the researcher recommends the university administration to use new techniques in learning and overcoming the difficulties that the student teachers face and the shortcoming encountered during the educational process.
