Aims: Scientometrics is a field concerned with the qualitative and quantitative analysis of scientific publications, which are frequently used in the field of library and information sciences. The aim of this study to present a general overview of the journal Acta Biologica Szegediensis (ABS) from 1997 to 2019 (a 23-year period) using bibliometric indicators. Methodology: The data analysed in this study was extracted from the Scopus database. The information was exported in RIS file format to the Harzing’s Publish or Perish 7.22 and VOSviewer 1.6.15 for data analysis. Clusters and co-occurrence networks of the authors and keywords of the published documents were generated. Results: The number of documents published in ABS during the study period was n=795, the most frequently published document type was „original article” (n=534, 67.2%). Articles published between 1997 and 2019 were cited 4289 times overall, averaging in 5.39 citations per paper and 186.5 cites/year. The average number of authors per paper increased consistently throughout the years (from 2.82 to 4.23). Conclusion: ABS is in a unique position; while it is primarily a journal of the University of Szeged, it has received increasing attention from an international scientific audience, both from molecular and supra-individual biologists, pharmacists and other medical scientists. The submission of additional articles from a wider audience would definetly strengthen the international reach and scientific impact of the journal.

Aims: The aim of this study is present a general overview of the journal from 1965 to 2018 using bibliometric indicators. Methods: The data analyzed in this study, was extracted from the Scopus database. The information was exported in RIS file format to the Harzing’s Publish or Perish and VOSviewer software for data analysis. Results: The number of documents published in APH during the study period was 1868, the most frequently published document type was „original article”. Articles published APH were cited 2555 times overall, averaging 1.37 citations per each paper. The highest number of articles published in collaboration was in 2007 and 2018 (16.7%). Overall, the period between 1981-2000 was the most fruitful, while the following years saw a decline in the number of articles. Clusters and co-occurrence networks of the authors keyowrds of the published documents were generated. Conclusion: APH manages to reach a very wide audience of the Hungarian scientific community of researchers. Additionally, an evolution on the research topics covered by the journal could be observed, providing a contemporary overview of the pharmaceutical sciences. The submission of additional articles to the journal is highly encouraged to widen the reach of this journal towards international audiences.

This paper aims to analyze research trends of Digital Innovation in Banking scientifically through bibliometric studies. Initial data were collected using Publish or Perish from 2011 to 2021 by searching for published papers indexed by Crossref, Google Scholar, Microsoft Academic, and Scopus database. The results show that scientific publications of Digital Innovation in Banking have increased gradually since 2016. The Scopus database is used because it contains journals and conference proceedings deemed more relevant by the academic community with detailed DOIs. VOSviewer and Microsoft excel were used as the tools to analyze co-authorship, co-occurrence, and citation obtained from the Scopus database. The visualization of the research trends of Digital Innovation in Banking resulted in three co-occurrence clusters leading to some of the topic areas mentioned in the results; 1) Digital Innovation in Banking related to the technology implementation and environmental innovations, 2) Digital Innovation in Banking business management in the world, and 3) Digital Innovation in Banking in relating to its effect and benefit to society. Technology is rapidly changing the financial services industry, especially banks. Digital innovation resulting from the use of digital technology will help banking improve customer experience and maintain banking performance. These study findings will help researchers recognize the research trends of Digital Innovation in Banking globally and suggest future research directions.

The topic of the research is the phenomenon of ecosystems created by banks, as well as related technological innovations introduced by credit institutions in order to increase their efficiency and obtain new opportunities for cooperation with non-financial organizations. One of the strategically important management decisions which affect the bank's business model is to determine the specifics of ecosystem growth. The study's goal is to figure the optimal balance between traditional activities and non-banking services of credit institutions. This suppose to strengthen their position in the face of penetration of digital competitors into banking operations (Internet banks, financial and large technology companies, telecoms). The theoretical and methodological basis of the research was formed by the scientific works of foreign scientists and experts on improving the efficiency of banking institutions. There were used methods of qualitative and quantitative analysis of scientific publications, analytical materials of well-known consulting companies, statistical data. As a result, the author found a technological transformation is required using such approaches to customer service (retail and corporate) that reflect their needs in banking with the intensive use of relevant competencies in cash management, means and risks. That will cause to protect the banking business from digital competitors and increase its market capitalization. All these measures will be able to induce clients to use more extensively the banks opportunities and help them to increase investments in their core business, thereby contributing to its growth. The author concludes that being developed ecosystems, it is advisable for banks to focus on services close to their core work, as well as on increasing the efficiency of their own activities and providing new services. Meanwhile, the marketplaces development within the banking ecosystems does not give the latter advantages in the competition in the banking services market.

Aim: The aim of this study was to analyse current scientific impact of published papers about architecture from South East Europe in the Scopus database (1962-2015).Material and Methods: Document search of the Scopus database was performed on October 13, 2015 about architecture in the Scopus Database (1962-2015). A total number of 572,489 documents worldwide were identified with “architecture” in the title, abstract or keywords. By limitation to South East European countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Kosovo, Moldova, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey, and Italy) only 42,356 documents were separated (7.4% of all documents). Selected documents were analyzed by year, source, author, country/territory, document type, and subject area.Results: From the total number of 572,489 documents worldwide, only 42,356 documents or 7.4% of all documents were defined as regional from the South East Europe. The biggest number of published papers was published in Proceedings of SPIE the International Society of Optical Engineering. Top three authors were: Benini L, Sciuto D, and Soudris D. Authors affiliated to Politecnico di Milano published the biggest number of papers about architecture. The waist of papers in the period of 1962 to 2015 from architecture in the Scopus Database was published by the authors from Italy, Greece, United States, and Turkey. Half of the published papers were conference paper. Computer Science was the most often subject with 45.9% of all papers, engineering was on the second place with 43.7%, and mathematics with 11.6%.Conclusion: Authors and officials of the academic institutions in South East European countries, dealing with architecture, should prepare more scientific papers in academic journals which are indexed in Scopus database.

Objective. The study is aimed at increasing the publishing activity and better presentation of scientific results of Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding by expanding scientific publications in open access logs. Chronological frameworks of the studied scientific articles – 2017–2021. Methods. In order to obtain relevant empirical data, the authors of the research analyzed publications of the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding scientists in open access logs using products and services of scientometric database Scopus. The algorithm of "step-by-step" actions in the Scopus database was considered in relation to: the determination of the most relevant topics; formation of the circles for the most cited publications; determining the representation level of publications made by the University scientists in the Scopus database on the topic of the study. Results. During the study, the authors showed that complete and objective evaluation in the effectiveness of scientific activity of the institution is possible only with the analysis of open resources of scientific information; the percentage of publications in the open access of Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding authors-scientists is growing: in five years, the number of scientific articles of open access has increased twice; the most popular publication model is GoldAPC; there are the most cited publications in foreign editions that relate to the first and second quartile. Conclusions. The authors firstly conducted a bibliometric study of scientists’ publications in open access journals as a tool for raising the publishing activity of the university on the basis of products and services of the Scopus scientometric database. The research materials can be used to further increase of publishing activity both for individual scientists and institutions as a whole.

Academic activity is intrinsically composed of two aspects: teaching and research. Since the 20th century, the aphorism “publish or perish” has overwhelmingly established itself in the academic field. Research activity has absorbed more attention from the professors who have neglected teaching activity. In anatomical sciences, research has focused mainly on ultrastructural anatomy and biochemical aspects, far removed from the topics addressed to medical students. Will today’s anatomists be rewarded by their choice? To generate a forecast, we should entrust what history has already taught us. For this analysis, an example was taken, concerning the fate that history reserved for the anatomy teachers of the University of Bologna in the second half of the 16th century. Thanks to Vesalius (1514–1564), experimentation on the human body replaced the old dogmatic knowledge, and didactic innovation was one with research. Some figures were highly praised despite their poor scientific production. The present article focuses on the figure of Flaminio Rota, who was highly esteemed by his colleagues in spite of no significant scientific activity. Reasons for this paradox are examined. Then, history also whispers to us: publish, but without perishing in the oblivion of students.
