The little cashew from the Cerrado (Anacardium humile) is a kind of family anacardiáceaceas, a shrubby plant of great incidence in the Brazilian Cerrado. It is a small pseudofruit, of acidic and juicy flavor, which is known to have colors ranging from yellow to red. It can be consumed naturally or in juices, drinks, sweets. However, its true fruit is the chestnut. Seed germination is influenced by factors such as the substrate, which can be improved in order to improve germination, resulting in the acquisition of more vigorous seedlings. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Tocantins, city of Gurupi/TO, from 26 October 2017 to 15 February 2018. Seeds were collected directly from the pseudofruits. The highest root length value was obtained for seedlings of the following substrates: bs + ws + pb (7.1 cm and 12.5 cm) and ws (6.7 cm and 10.7 cm), intermediate values: or + rs + vl (6.3 cm and 10.0 cm) and hw + vl + sawdust + cp + ws (5.5 cm and 9.5 cm), and lower values on substrates: bs (5.7 cm and 8.0 cm) and bs + rs + sawdust (6,6 cm e 9,0 cm). It was also observed that the highest value referring to the first emergency count and seedling emergence once again stood out the substrates bs + ws + pb (61.0 % and 87.5 %) and ws (56.2% and 86.2 %). Intermediate results were obtained from hw substrates + vl + sawdust + cp + ws(44.0 % and 81.0 %) and or + rs + vl (48.4 % and 81.2 %) and lower for bs substrates (37.5% and 72.0 %) and bs + rs + sawdust (45.3% and 77.0 %). The substrates: bs + ws + pb and washed sand provided the highest values of viability and vigor in cashew seeds.

This work aims to discuss the insertion of the Practice as a Curricular Component (PCC) in a Mathematics Undergraduate course of one Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology, addressing some works developed and planned more specifically for the discipline of Differential and Integral Calculus. Nowadays, the legislation for initial teacher training at undergraduate courses is established by Resolution no. 2/2015 of the CNE / CP of July 1, 2015, which in article 13, among others, establishes that these courses must have at least 3,200 hours of effective academic work, these being at least 400 hours of PCC. In this way, studies focused on the training practices that are being offered are essential for understanding and improving these PCC applied to undergraduate courses developed at the Federal Institutes. Among the perspectives reached are the possibility of applying these activities in basic education and the training of reflective teachers, concerned with properly aligning practice and theory.

The use of photovoltaic solar technology is increasingly widespread and consolidated worldwide, gaining significant interest in Brazil. Thanks to records of gradual photovoltaic system price decreases and the construction of legal frameworks favorable to their diffusion, urban and rural residential consumers, service companies, industries, and the government are progressively adhering to the use of this technology. In this context, it is important that institutions and companies with multiheadquarters discern whether it is more advantageous, from both a technical and economic point of view, to disperse photovoltaic systems throughout all of their headquarters or to centralize them in the offices presenting the best energy efficiency. The present study aims at answering this question. To this end, indicators recorded in the Institute of Education Science and Technology (IFRN)-Solar Project implemented by the Rio Grande do Norte Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology, in Brazil, where 2 MWp of photovoltaic solar energy are installed in 19 of its 22 headquarters, were evaluated. The PVWatts Software, energy measurements at the different plant installation locations and technical performance parameters recurrent in the literature, as well as the Discounted Payback Method were used herein. The results indicate that system centralization in the best-evaluated sites (7 campi) will, in 25 years, provide a 9.07% energy supply gain, a 112.96% financial gain, and a payback reduction of 8.9 years when compared to the alternative comprising generation unit dispersion throughout the 19 campi.

Vocational and Technological Education - EPT, in Brazil, is mainly allocated to the Federal Institutes of Education, Science and Technology. However, some teachers who work in this type of teaching do not have pedagogical training to teach classes in technical education integrated to high school, despite having consistent training in their areas of knowledge. Given this reality, the need for initial and continuing teacher education of teachers working in EFA has been increasing in the host of these institutions and raising academic debates on the subject. As a way to contribute to this theme, this research aimed to investigate the pedagogical formation of teachers from the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Paraíba - IFPB and to understand their social representations about teacher education. The theoretical-methodological path that underpinned this research was the precepts about the Theory of Social Representations of Moscovici (1978; 2015) and other authors, and the use of the theoretical-methodological support of the Central Core Theory (ABRIC, 2001; 2003). The research participants consisted of 100 teachers, ten from each of the ten IFPB campuses selected. Data were collected through the application of the Free Word Association Technique - with the inductive term “teacher training is ...”, as well as a questionnaire and on-site observation, recorded in a field diary. Data treatment was performed through Excel, with systematization of the words evoked in a Spiral of Directions. The combination of theoretical and technical concepts related to the research theme and proposition as well as the results presented shows, in their quantitative and qualitative aspects, that the most shared elements which belonged to the central nucleus of social representations, were fundamental as well as knowledge of intermediate element I. This work not only sought to understand the level of the pedagogical formation of the investigated ones, but also apprehended the process of construction of their social representations. It also pointed alternatives to (re) think a teacher formation concatenated with the yearnings and interests of IFPB teachers.

The case study was based on the collection of data by applying focus group technique and the information obtained was interpreted qualitatively by a multidisciplinary working group. Through the construction and participatory proposition of an alternative BSC in a public organization, it contributes to the reduction of gaps related to i) resistance and absence of insertion of the academic community in the SM process and ii) use of BSC in IFs. It was evidenced i) the more active participation of the community in the process of organizational diagnosis and structuring of the model, seeking its effective legitimation; ii) the definition of organizational strategies for the systematization of Strategic Planning and iii) the structuring of an SM model that is appropriate to the singularities of the institution, consolidated by the BSC. The new architecture of the BSC can be replicated to other similar educational institutions in order to provide comparative studies and verify it external validity. The study also reduces omissions from the SM literature in FIs, detailing the process of devising strategic practices for improving organizational performance. Keywords: Strategic Management.
