Dapsone is an anticatalysis for Alzheimer’s disease exacerbation

This study investigated leprosy patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) treated with dapsone (4,4’-diaminodiphenyl sulfone, DDS) as a cytosolic DNA sensor cyclic-GMP-AMP synthase (cGAS)/stimulator of interferon genes (STING) signaling pathway and neuroinflammasome competitor. We searched the Sorokdo National Hospital medical records and the National Health Insurance Service in South Korea with the International Classification of Diseases (ICD)-10 code and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) from January 2005 to June 2020. Four groups were defined: Treatment (T) 1: DDS prescription (+) AD prevalence (+), T 2: DDS (+) AD nondiagnosed (-), T 3: DDS nonprescription (-) AD (+), T 4: DDS (-) AD (-). The T1:T3 tests demonstrate that the incidence of AD is significantly reduced in the presence of dapsone among AD patients. The T1:T3 tests demonstrate that the incidence of AD is significantly reduced in the presence of dapsone among AD patients. T1 (M = 0.18, SD = 0.074):T2 (M = 0.55, SD = 0.14) and T3 (M = 0.18, SD = 0.074):T4 (M = 0.55, SD = 0.14) explain that dapsone effects on AD can be clearly distinguished according to its presence or absence.The T1:T4 and the T2:T3 test demonstrate a causal relationship in which the presence or absence of dapsone determines the onset of AD. The T1:T3 test proved that the incidence of AD was significantly reduced by dapsone. (The t-value is -23.1, p-value is < .00001, significant at p < .05) The T2:T3 test proved that the prevalence of AD was significantly high without dapsone, and without AD was increased with dapsone. (The t-value is -6.38, p-value is < .00001, significant at p < .05) AD is increased in the absence of dapsone. Our study has demonstrated that dapsone has the potential for the prevention of AD. Digitalization and Automation in Intermodal Freight Transport and Their Potential Application for Low-Income Countries

This paper presents an assessment of enabling technologies in intermodal freight transport. It first identifies the technologies used in intermodal freight transport globally using a systematic literature review. Then, it characterizes intermodal freight transport in the context of low-income countries to assess the potential application of digitalization and automation for the countries. Countries with a per capita gross national income (GNI) lower than $1025 are categorized as low-income countries. To achieve the objectives, a review was undertaken of 147 published articles from Scopus, Web of Science, and Transport Research International Documentation (TRID). Furthermore, distinctions of intermodal transport in low-income countries were also characterized using gray literature. A number of enabling technologies applied at components of intermodal transport were identified. The results demonstrated that several enabling technologies such as wireless communication technology, sensors, positioning technology, and web-based platforms are highly utilized in intermodal freight transport globally. In contrast, electronic data interchange (EDI), wireless communication technologies, and web-based platforms also have potential applications in low-income countries, and their adoption should be studied further.

Blockchain in the Biopharmaceutical Industry

Biopharmaceutical companies and health authorities continuously exchange information to provide safe and effective therapeutics. The interactions between the two require transparency and extensive documentation exchange concerning the processes which extend from the development through the manufacturing phase. The current processes rely on paper documentation, notebooks, and point-to-point electronic data interchange (EDI) for the storage of data. Thereby, generating challenges of data integrity within the internal siloed structures and the traceability of the medicinal products in the pursuit to avoid counterfeiting. With Industry 4.0 and blockchain, the authors envisioned a reinvented workflow that helps to 1) manage data integrity with decentralized trust and 2) improve the track and trace capabilities. Hence, biopharmaceutical companies can manage data in a more trustable manner while maintaining security and privacy, further enabling the external ecosystem with track and trace to ensure complete transparency until the therapeutics reach patients.

INDUSTRIES PIONEERING BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY FOR ELECTRONIC DATA INTERCHANGE

Rapid development of blockchain technologies promote involvement of methods using categorize research topics, identify the most topical trends, and ascertain the main publishing sources related to electronic data interchange. The study is based on an analysis of scientific publications (2015-2019 years) and investigation on the theory of supply chain and logistic the research is based on theoretical research methods that include a literature review and content analysis. The authors have reviewed 9,780 primary papers published between the years 2015-2019 from major academic databases (EBSCO, Elsevier ScienceDirect, Emerald Insight, Scopus, SSRN; Springer SpringerLink, Web of Science). The results of the research are presented, which at the logistics position describing the usage of blockchain technology for electronic data interchange in multiple industries. In concluding the research, the authors present the research gaps discovered, major trends, most discussed industries and suggestions for future research.

Preliminary feasibility assessment of CDM-based active surveillance using current status of medical device data in medical records and OMOP-CDM

In recent years, there has been an emerging interest in the use of claims and electronic health record (EHR) data for evaluation of medical device safety and effectiveness. In Korea, national insurance electronic data interchange (EDI) code has been used as a medical device data source for common data model (CDM). This study performed a preliminary feasibility assessment of CDM-based vigilance. A cross-sectional study of target medical device data in EHR and CDM was conducted. A total of 155 medical devices were finally enrolled, with 58.7% of them having EDI codes. Femoral head prosthesis was selected as a focus group. It was registered in our institute with 11 EDI codes. However, only three EDI codes were converted to systematized nomenclature of medicine clinical terms concept. EDI code was matched in one-to-many (up to 104) with unique device identifier (UDI), including devices classified as different global medical device nomenclature. The use of UDI rather than EDI code as a medical device data source is recommended. We hope that this study will share the current state of medical device data recorded in the EHR and contribute to the introduction of CDM-based medical device vigilance by selecting appropriate medical device data sources.

Online Based Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Data Exchange System Design with EDI Method

During the Covid 19 pandemic, every individual is required to be more creative in carrying out every activity and not make a distance as the reason an activity cannot be carried out. Documentation data, which is usually sent manually by post, will experience difficulties at this time. This research will discuss other ways that can be done to ensure the data exchange process of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between PT. Bank XYZ with partners. The solution that can be implemented is to use the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) method. EDI is an online-based data exchange method. In other words, the method of exchanging data via postal service is not necessary. Based on this research, the EDI method can meet users' needs in terms of exchanging or sending documentary data on the MOU between PT. Bank XYZ with partners. The method used in building this system design is analyzing the running system and designing the system with UML tools. The final result of the validation test of the system design through the FGD method states that the e-approval system application design of the MOU is by the specifications of the functional requirements required by the user.

Use of Intuitionistic Fuzzy Numbers in Survey Sampling Analysis with Application in Electronic Data Interchange

The validity of survey sampling depends on how precise the data is. The validity reduces when questionnaire contains linguistic variables and respondent has to answer in zero or one. The ambiguity in the respondent’s mind can be minimized by getting a response in an intuitionistic fuzzy sense. In this study, we proposed intuitionistic fuzzy aggregative investment benefit rate to select the best manufacturing facility location, where respondents expressed both membership function and nonmembership function for linguistic variables, with some hesitancy level, and give significant improvement over the fuzzy assessment method. The proposed methodology is also verified at different hesitancy levels and recommended to use a small hesitancy level. Real-life example of the use of electronic data interchange (EDI) in Pakistan’s different fields, such as business, commerce, transport, airlines, warehousing, and logistic and delivery industry, is used to support the proposed methodology. Thus, an intuitionistic fuzzy rate reduces the cost, time, and effort of survey sampling instead of taking and analyzing responses from large samples.

Digitalization as a Vector of Information Systems Development and Accounting System Modernization

Digitalization causes structural changes in the economic sectors and influences business activity and processes, leading to the companies’ increased productivity, competitive advantages and effective development creation and consolidation. This article is purposed to substantiate that the economy digitalization entails the need for companies’ system and mechanisms modernization to ensure their competitiveness and to improve management systems. The research is conducted using methods of theoretical generalization, analysis, synthesis, comparison and grouping. This study resulted in defining both global and Ukrainian economies’ trends for digitalization with a description of its impact on the business activity and business processes, assessing the economy digitalization effects to the requirements for the company’s information system that therefore serves to establishing directions for its modernization through the introduction of digital technologies, such as Electronic Data Interchange, Extensible Business Reporting Language, BigData, Internet of Things, Robotic Process Automation, Artificial intelligence, Real-time Adherence, cloud technologies, blockchain. The directions of companies’ accounting digitalization implementation and development are as flows: changes in the accounting system in terms of its method elements; application of Assets, Liabilities and Capital new digital forms; advanced training in compliance with the requirements for the accounting personnel digital competencies.

The Prevention and Reduction of the Bullwhip Effect by Electronic Data Interchange and Collaborative Forecasting

The bullwhip effect is a phenomenon of curious amplification of variations in demand as one moves away from the final customer. Popularized by Lee and al., (1997), the bullwhip effect has negative consequences on all actors in the supply chain because it generates considerable loss of profits: Too much stock, loss of sales, poor customer service, insufficient quality and multiple disruptions of flow and organization. To prevent and reduce the bullwhip effect, various tools are recommended. The Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is among the most important given its impact on accelerating information sharing throughout the supply chain. This paper aims to shed light on the role of EDI, VMI (Vendor-managed inventory) and CPFR (collaborative planning forecasting and replenishment) in the prevention and reduction of the bullwhip effect in the supply chain.
