As a critical task in intelligent traffic systems, traffic prediction has received a large amount of attention in the past few decades. The early efforts mainly model traffic prediction as the time-series mining problem, in which the spatial dependence has been largely ignored. As the rapid development of deep learning, some attempts have been made in modeling traffic prediction as the spatio-temporal data mining problem in a road network, in which deep learning techniques can be adopted for modeling the spatial and temporal dependencies simultaneously. Despite the success, the spatial and temporal dependencies are only modeled in a regionless network without considering the underlying hierarchical regional structure of the spatial nodes, which is an important structure naturally existing in the real-world road network. Apart from the challenge of modeling the spatial and temporal dependencies like the existing studies, the extra challenge caused by considering the hierarchical regional structure of the road network lies in simultaneously modeling the spatial and temporal dependencies between nodes and regions and the spatial and temporal dependencies between regions. To this end, this article proposes a new Temporal Hierarchical Graph Attention Network (TH-GAT). The main idea lies in augmenting the original road network into a region-augmented network, in which the hierarchical regional structure can be modeled. Based on the region-augmented network, the region-aware spatial dependence model and the region-aware temporal dependence model can be constructed, which are two main components of the proposed TH-GAT model. In addition, in the region-aware spatial dependence model, the graph attention network is adopted, in which the importance of a node to another node, of a node to a region, of a region to a node, and of a region to another region, can be captured automatically by means of the attention coefficients. Extensive experiments are conducted on two real-world traffic datasets, and the results have confirmed the superiority of the proposed TH-GAT model.

The article considers the current state of sunflower production in Ukraine. The main indicators of the industry, the dynamics of changes in the area of sunflower crops, yield and profitability are analyzed. The main factors influencing the production of sunflower using index analysis have been studied. The regional structure of sunflower production is considered with the separation of groups of enterprises by organizational form. Ukrainian enterprises are provided with proposals to increase the level of industry development and production.

As a form of urban culture, urban reading plays an important role in the improvement of the citizens’ quality, urban quality, and urban spirit. In the new era, there are imbalances in the supply and demand, content construction, regional structure, and ecological structure of urban reading. It is necessary to analyze and grasp its development trend, optimize the development path of urban reading, and promote the improvement of urban cultural soft power.

The development level of businesses and their competitiveness has a significant effect on the growth of an economic region. The improvement in comparative advantage for regional social and economic development will contribute to the strengthening and expanding possibilities for farm owners as well as to encouraging the authorities of the province to pay a special attention to an accelerated farm transformation in the agriculture of Tay Nguyen region. Farm economy development is considered to be an inevitable trend and its effectiveness does not rely too much on laws and market practice but on the understanding of the regional structure taking into account the demands and peculiarities of this economic agent. Using the methods of descriptive statistics and the analysis of secondary data, this paper is devoted to the analysis of the essence of farm economy of Tay Nguyen region. A special place has analysis of the theoretical basis of economic zones and the identification of comparative advantages of the region in farming development. The results of this empirical research aim to discover the specificity of formation and development of farm economy in the Tay Nguyen region nowadays.

Abstract The article demonstrates that the placer gold content of the Vilyui Syneclise is governed by the regional structure of the crystalline basement of the Siberian Platform—the Baikal–Vilyui Paleoproterozoic belt, the boundaries and tectonics of which are substantiated by analysis of the gravitational field structure. The belt includes a system of basement blocks with a common northeastern strike, which form horsts (of the Suntar type) and grabens (of the Kempendyai type). The gold-bearing placers of the Vilyui Syneclise are mainly confined to the Suntar, Tyukyan, and Chybyda blocks of the belt, the metamorphic and igneous rocks of which were the primary gold sources in the sedimentary cover. The suture zone of the Baikal–Vilyui belt was very permeable to deep fluids responsible for gold migration. The types of possible primary gold sources (gold–platinoid, low-sulfidation gold-quartz, and gold–silver) reflect the peculiarities in the evolution of Early Precambrian gold during sedimentation in the Vilyui Syneclise. The areas controlled by the Suntar, Kempendyai, Tyukyan, Chybyda, and Khapchagai blocks of Early Precambrian rocks, which may contain gold objects, should be considered promising for buried gold placers in the Vilyui Syneclise.

AbstractWhite matter structural connections are likely to support flow of functional activation or functional connectivity. While the relationship between structural and functional connectivity profiles, here called SC-FC coupling, has been studied on a whole-brain, global level, few studies have investigated this relationship at a regional scale. Here we quantify regional SC-FC coupling in healthy young adults using diffusion-weighted MRI and resting-state functional MRI data from the Human Connectome Project and study how SC-FC coupling may be heritable and varies between individuals. We show that regional SC-FC coupling strength varies widely across brain regions, but was strongest in highly structurally connected visual and subcortical areas. We also show interindividual regional differences based on age, sex and composite cognitive scores, and that SC-FC coupling was highly heritable within certain networks. These results suggest regional structure-function coupling is an idiosyncratic feature of brain organisation that may be influenced by genetic factors.

This paper approaches some of the characteristics of the regional development of Serbia, from the perspective of two models of territorial organization: one is governmental (administrative and statistical), and the other is functional. The imbalances in the levels of development of various territorial units of Serbia (regional disproportions) are the consequence of many structural disharmonies, material limitations, and problems with population structure, during many years, all worsened by political and economic events at the end of the twentieth century. Also, in this paper we point out the main characteristics of undeveloped regions, the criteria with which we can define them, and a typology of the municipalities inside each such region.

The present study analyses the sectoral and the regional structure of the wages in Mexico. We exploit a pooled data model with information from the National Occupation and Employment Survey (ENOE) from 2005 to 2018. The results show generalized discrimination against women in all economic activities and regions of the country. The education return on wage differentiates among economic activities, and overall, it is more profitable for women. In professional servi-ces, an additional year of education increases 8.4 per cent the salary; in restaurants and lodging services, this return is 3.9 per cent. This study also shows that education is more profitable in the northeast than in other parts of the country. Wages in agriculture in the north double the wages in agriculture in the south. One of the main implications of this study is that education is a crucial instrument for narrowing the gap between women’s and men’s wages.

The article analyzes the educational policy of Russia regarding the Muslims of the North Caucasus, substantiates the formation of the educational potential of the Muslim mountaineers in the historical aspect associated with the evolution of the educational paradigm of the state in the field of their education, the result of which was the adaptation of the regional structure of education to the all-Russian system. It is concluded that the imperial government, adapting to the situation of capitalism and carrying out modernization in the region, began to pay more attention to the issues of enlightening "infidels". But due to the inconsistent policy of officials, the coverage of Muslims by training was insufficient and required further reform of the national educational system.
