Problem and purpose. To increase the efficiency of the use of feed nutrients, it is advisable to use biologically active substances that contribute to the improvement of physiological processes in the body of animals for the realization of their genetic potential - productivity. The aim of the research was to study the effect of biologically active substances (dihydroquerticin and organic iodine) on rumen metabolism in sheep. Methodology. The experiment was carried out by the method of groups of periods in the conditions of the physiological yard of L.K. The optimal level of mineral nutrition of animals is of great importance in the organization of complete feeding. Micromineral feeding of cattle, pigs and poultry has recently received more and more attention. A significant contribution to the solution of this issue is made by an organic microelement complex based on L-aspartic amino acid produced by JSC “Bioamide” under the trademark OMEC-7M. The purpose of the research was to study the effect of the organic microelement complex based on the L-aspartic amino acid OMEC-7M and organic iodine OMEC-J on the milk productivity and composition of cow milk. In order to conduct scientific and economic experiments, groups of cows have been formed according to the principle of analogous pairs taking into account age, live weight, date of the last calving, productivity and physiological state. Live weight of cows was 500–550 kg with a yield of 5000-6000 kg of milk per lactation. The conditions of feeding and housing the animals were the same, with the exception of the studied factors. Studies have been conducted to determine the effect of organic trace elements Cu, Mn, Zn, Fe, Co and Se in the form of asparaginates and organic J on the milk productivity of cows, the composition of milk and the content of iodine in it, the morphological and biochemical composition of blood, the content of the rumen, the digestibility and use of feed nutrients compared to the inorganic salts of these trace elements. As a result of four scientific and economic experiments the effectiveness of the use of the organic microelement complex based on the L-aspartic amino acid OMEC-7M and organic iodine OMEC-J in the feeding of cows in the production of iodized milk has been proved.

e21580 Background: The thyroid gland is the most important regulator of the body's response to stressful influences, including malignant growth. Iodine is a constituent of thyroid hormones, and it plays an important role in anti-tumor protection. The purpose of the study was to analyze the levels of thyroid hormones in the thyroid gland of male and female mice with B16/F10 melanoma, as well as the effect of an organic iodine-based preparation on the survival of animals with transplanted melanoma. Methods: Levels of total (T3, T4) and free (FT3, FT4) thyroid hormones were measured by RIA in the thyroid of male and female С57ВL/6 mice (n = 80) with transplantable B16/F10 melanoma. The effect of an organic iodine-based preparation on the dynamics of the melanoma growth was studied in the main group of animals (n = 42) receiving per os 1,3-diethylbenzimidazolium triiodide in a single dose of 0.4 mg/kg throughout the experiment; the control group (n = 20) received distilled water. The tumor volume and survival of mice were measured. Results: The lowT3/lowT4 syndrome developed in females with transplantable B16/F10 melanoma starting from week 2 of the experiment, diagnosed by decreasing levels of FТ3 and FТ4 by 3 times and lower and normal levels of T3 and T4. In males, melanoma growth caused the thyroid hypofunction expressed in a decrease in the levels of T3 and T4 by 2 times, and FT3 and FT4 by 1.5 times. The latent period prior to the tumor onset was 10-12 days in females and 5-7 days in males. The survival of females was 5-6 weeks, males – 3-4 weeks. The administration of the organic iodine-based preparation extended the latent period in females up to 14-18 days, in males up to 10-14 days; the survival of females increased by 1.8 times, males by 1.5 times. 9% of females in the main group showed complete tumor resorption without relapses throughout their lives. Conclusions: The growth of transplantable B16/F10 melanoma in male and female С57ВL/6 mice was accompanied by suppression of the thyroid function with the development of uncontrolled hypothyroidism in males and the lowT3/lowT4 syndrome in females, which correlates with the survival of animals.

The structure of endocrine morbidity is characterized by a significant spread of thyroid pathology. The insufficient efficacy of inorganic iodine drugs poses the problem of search for new means for iodine deficiency treatment and prevention. Given the progressive aging of the population in economically developed countries, the purpose of the study was to clarify the effect of organic iodine on the features of absorption and elimination of radioactive iodine from the thyroid glands of variously aged rats in the conditions of iodine deficiency in the diet. The study was performed on nonlinear white male rats in two series of studies that were kept on iodine-deficient isocaloric starch-casein diet for 60 days: the first series included two groups of old rats weighing 0.400-0.450 kg, the second series – two groups of sexually immature rats weighing 0.060-0.090 kg. There were 5 rats in each group. In animals of the experimental groups in each series, 10% of casein in the diet was replaced with organic iodine, which came with iodine-protein preparation from the red Black Sea algae Phyllophora nervosa. The functional state of the thyroid gland was studied using the Sodium Iodide Na 131 I Injection drug. The dosimetry was performed using the STS-6 Geiger-Muller Detector. Radioindication of the thyroid gland was carried out after subcutaneous administration of 0.1 ml of 131I solution at the following time intervals: 0.5, 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 24, 48, 72, and 96 hours after administration of 131I. The study results were presented as a percentage of the radioiodine dose administered, adjusted for natural radioactivity background and the radioactive decay of the drug. It was found that in the iodine deficiency conditions, the thyroid glands of old rats have higher rates of radioiodine absorption and a lower rate of its excretion than the glands of immature rats, which indicates their lower iodine reserve and greater liability to iodine deficiency pathology. Intake of organic iodine regardless of the rats’ age is accompanied by a decrease in radioiodine accumulation and acceleration of its excretion from the thyroid gland, which indicates a decrease in functional stress, but the glands of older rats absorb more iodine and excrete it more slowly, indicating less effective correction of iodine deficiency with age. Reduced functional activity of the thyroid glands in old rats can be used as a sensitive changes marker for the in-depth study of thyrotropic and thyroid disrupting effects.

The process of uptake and translocation of non-organic iodine (I) ions, I– and IO3–, has been relatively well-described in literature. The situation is different for low-molecular-weight organic aromatic I compounds, as data on their uptake or metabolic pathway is only fragmentary. The aim of this study was to determine the process of uptake, transport, and metabolism of I applied to lettuce plants by fertigation as KIO3, KIO3 + salicylic acid (KIO3+SA), and iodosalicylates, 5-iodosalicylic acid (5-ISA) and 3,5-diiodosalicylic acid (3,5-diISA), depending on whether additional fertilization with vanadium (V) was used. Each I compound was applied at a dose of 10 μM, SA at a dose of 10 μM, and V at a dose of 0.1 μM. Three independent 2-year-long experiments were carried out with lettuce; two with pot systems using a peat substrate and mineral soil and one with hydroponic lettuce. The effectiveness of I uptake and translocation from the roots to leaves was as follows: 5-ISA > 3,5-diISA > KIO3. Iodosalicylates, 5-ISA and 3,5-diISA, were naturally synthesized in plants, similarly to other organic iodine metabolites, i.e., iodotyrosine, as well as plant-derived thyroid hormone analogs (PDTHA), triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4). T3 and T4 were synthesized in roots with the participation of endogenous and exogenous 5-ISA and 3,5-diISA and then transported to leaves. The level of plant enrichment in I was safe for consumers. Several genes were shown to perform physiological functions, i.e., per64-like, samdmt, msams5, and cipk6.

The object of research is the components of feed additives, namely dihydroquercetin, blue-green algae spirulina and organic iodine, in various combinations used in feeding piglets from the first days of feeding and before transferring them to fattening, at the age of 90 days. Three groups of piglets, one control and two experimental ones, were formed according to the principle of analogues. Piglets of the first experimental group received to the general diet, a feed additive MKBA-1, consisting of Spirulina – 1 mg, dihydroquercetin – 3 mg, organic iodine – 1,5 mg per 1,5 kg of live weight per day; piglets of the second experimental group to the main diet received a feed supplement ICBA-1, consisting of Spirulina – 2 mg and dihydroquercetin – 2 mg per 3 kg of live weight per day. The use of dihydroquercetin, blue-green algae spirulina and organic iodine in various combinations in feeding piglets contributed to an increase in the adaptive ability of the body, pathogenetic reactivity and correction of metabolic processes, which provided a higher realization of the genetic potential of pigs. The introduction of feed additives into the diet of pigs contributed to an increase in the bactericidal activity of blood serum in the first experimental group by 1%, in the second experimental group by 14,1%, compared with the control group. The number of white blood cells in piglets of the experimental groups was lower and red blood cells is higher compared to piglets in the control group, which was reflected in the hemoglobin content of blood, which was higher than piglets from the control group by 2% and 8,9%, respectively.
