The absence of an evaluation model that can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of educational activities at vocational universities in the view of six domains causes the need to find innovations in an evaluation model. The six domains, included: context, input, socialization process, implementation process, results, and imbalances that occur in the learning implementation. An evaluation model innovation was initiated through this research in the form of a modification of two educational evaluation models. Those models are CSE-UCLA and Discrepancy. Based on those conditions, the main objective of this research was to demonstrate the existence of a new evaluation model design in education which was a modification of the CSE-UCLA evaluation model and the Discrepancy evaluation model. Specifically, this evaluation model design can be used to determine the effectiveness of the one education activity namely the synchronous learning implementation at vocational universities. The research method used to achieve the objectives of this research was the development method by the Borg and Gall model development design. Five stages of development become the focus of this research, included: research and field data collection, research planning, design development, initial trials, and main product revision. The location of this research was conducted in several vocational universities in the North Bali area (Indonesia). Subjects involved in the initial trials toward this evaluation model design were 20 people. The tools used to conduct the initial trials were questionnaires. The technique used to analyze the data of initial trial results was descriptive quantitative by comparing the percentage of the initial trial results with the standard percentage of the effectiveness level of modified model design. This research results indicate that the evaluation model design was categorized as effective by an effectiveness level was 81.93%. The implication of this research results was the existence of a new design of the educational evaluation model. This design combines two evaluation models to produce good functionality integration in determining the effectiveness level of the synchronouslearning implementation in all universities generally and in vocational universities in Bali particularly. Doi: 10.28991/esj-2021-01321 Full Text: PDF

AbstractAs a result of significant recent scientific investment, the range of vaccines available for COVID-19 prevention continues to expand and uptake is increasing globally. Although initial trial safety data have been generally reassuring, a number of adverse events, including vaccine induced thrombosis and thrombocytopenia (VITT), have come to light which have the potential to undermine the success of the vaccination program. However, it can be difficult to interpret available data and put these into context and to communicate this effectively. In this review, we discuss contemporary methodologies employed to investigate possible associations between vaccination and adverse neurological outcomes and why determining causality can be challenging. We demonstrate these issues by discussing relevant historical exemplars and explore the relevance for the current pandemic and vaccination program. We also discuss challenges in understanding and communicating such risks to clinicians and the general population within the context of the ‘infodemic’ facilitated by the Internet and other media.

PURPOSE Tumor next-generation sequencing reports typically generate trial recommendations for patients based on their diagnosis and genomic profile. However, these require additional refinement and prescreening, which can add to physician burden. We wanted to use human prescreening efforts to efficiently refine these trial options and also elucidate the high-value parameters that have a major impact on efficient trial matching. METHODS Clinical trial recommendations were generated based on diagnosis and biomarker criteria using an informatics platform and were further refined by manual prescreening. The refined results were then compared with the initial trial recommendations and the reasons for false-positive matches were evaluated. RESULTS Manual prescreening significantly reduced the number of false positives from the informatics generated trial recommendations, as expected. We found that trial-specific criteria, especially recruiting status for individual trial arms, were a high value parameter and led to the largest number of automated false-positive matches. CONCLUSION Reflex clinical trial matching approaches that refine trial recommendations based on the clinical details as well as trial-specific criteria have the potential to help alleviate physician burden for selecting the most appropriate trial for their patient. Investing in publicly available resources that capture the recruiting status of a trial at the cohort or arm level would, therefore, allow us to make meaningful contributions to increase the clinical trial enrollments by eliminating false positives.

In a physics classroom, kinematics is an essential concept that must be mastered before learning others. The students need ongoing practice and assistance in understanding it. Formative assessment is one of the alternatives to help students reshape their conceptual understanding, but its implementation is often constrained. The implementation of isomorphic multiple choice items as part of computer games is expected to help them overcome the problems. Physics Formative Feedback Game (PF2G) has been developed by utilizing isomorphic multiple choice items. Based on the results of the initial trial, PF2G got a good response, from the physics teacher and also from the students.

As an initial trial and in response to a lack of technological applications in government agencies, we have developed three multifunctional robots in accordance with the work environment and the nature of our tasks. Search site monitoring robot is fitted with a panoramic camera and large wheels for walk-around search site monitoring. Suspect guarding robot follows and guards a suspect by tracking an augmented reality marker worn by the suspect and identifying the human body through an infrared thermal camera. For the evidence identification robot, You Only Look Once (YOLO) is utilized to identify some specific evidence on search site and is equipped with a carrier and a high-torque motor for evidence transportation; it is set to issue warnings and emails to relevant personnel on specific emergencies. We have performed multiple experiments and tests to confirm the robots’ effectiveness, verifying their applicability of technological task support in government agencies.
