Compliance with oral hygiene is an important aspect of the prevention of dental diseases. But an uncontrolled choice, the use of improperly selected home hygiene products can lead to a number of complications, for example hyperesthesia of dentin. An important aspect of the choice of home hygiene products is their effect on the hard tissues of the tooth.Aim. To study in the experiment the effect of a hard toothbrush with a high level of abrasiveness of a toothpaste on the change in the enamel surface according to profilometry data.Materials and methods. Using the device for cleaning teeth, a study was carried out on the roughness of the surface if the enamel of the sample. In research were used the first 3 molars removed for periodontal indications, of which 3 samples of 1×1 cm were prepared. The measurements were carried out using a Senso neox profilometer (Sensofar) with a 3D magnification of 150 at the following time intervals: initial condition of the tooth, 1 week, 1 month, 6 months, 1 year.Conclusion. When using a hard toothbrush together in combination with a highly abrasive paste, the optimal combination time is not more than 6 months. Further, there is an increase in roughness of enamel surface.

Taking into account the high demand for professional teeth whitening in patients, as well as a significant high percentage of hyperesthesia after this medical manipulation, the urgency of solving this problem becomes obvious. Our study was carried out in 17 patients aged 20 to 35 years with complaints of hyperesthesia after professional teeth whitening with a diode laser with a wavelength of 810 nm using President Sensitive toothpaste with potassium nitrate and strontium chloride at home. All patients underwent professional oral hygiene before teeth whitening, recommended toothpaste and a brush, and received training in home care and teeth cleaning. According to our research, the toothpaste with potassium nitrate and strontium chloride has a pronounced desensitive effect and corresponds to the declared parameters. Thus, after professional whitening with a diode laser with a wavelength of 810 nm and subsequent application of toothpaste with potassium nitrate and strontium chloride, a decrease in tooth sensitivity, remineralization of hard tissues and suppression of bacterial growth were revealed. However, the selection should be individualized, taking into account all medical indications and properties of hygiene products.

Aim. To study with the help of a microscope the marginal fit of Bulk-Fill group composite materials to the hard tissues of the tooth. Optimize the method of heating the composite in the cavity.Materials and methods. The marginal fit of the composite material of the Bulk-Fill group, sealed in 30 teeth of chewing anatomical and functional accessories extracted according to various indications, was studied. Materials used in the laboratory experiment: 3M ESPE Filtek posterior restorative Bulk Fill, SDR (Dentsply Sirona), Sonic Fill (Kerr). According to the manufacturers, the materials are used with the method of single-portion sealing. The research was conducted at the Department of General Dentistry of the S.M.Kirov Military Medical Academy of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.Results. 30 teeth extracted according to various indications of chewing anatomical and functional accessories were indicators were shown by the Sonic Fill (Kerr) system, due to heating and changing the viscosity of the material.Conclusions. It was proved in the laboratory that the heated composites of the Bulk-Fill group had the best edge fit during sealing than composites at normal room temperature. A nozzle was developed for heating the composite in the tooth cavity (priority application No. 2021120658 dated 12.07.2021).

Crown root cracking is uncommon, accounting for less than 7% of irreversible damage. All the hard tissues of the teeth (crust, dentin, and cementum), as well as the pulp and periodontal ligament, are commonly involved in these complicated fractures. The care of such instances offers major biological hurdles, and success is dependent on considering a variety of regenerative, endodontic, and temporal variables. Numerous clinical investigations demonstrate that adhesive coronal attachment might be an essential therapy for fractured teeth with crown roots. Because it maintains the original tooth, this technique may save the gums and decrease the time and expense of therapy. Before considering adhesive attachments for dental fractures, several factors should be considered-the site and size of the fracture, the fracture pattern, and the position of traumatized teeth. The aim of the article was to review the role of adhesive attachments in a traumatic dental injury.

AbstractBiological hard tissues are a rich source of design concepts for the generation of advanced materials. They represent the most important library of information on the evolution of life and its environmental conditions. Organisms produce soft and hard tissues in a bottom-up process, a construction principle that is intrinsic to biologically secreted materials. This process emerged early on in the geological record, with the onset of biological mineralization. The phylum Brachiopoda is a marine animal group that has an excellent and continuous fossil record from the early Cambrian to the Recent. Throughout this time interval, the Brachiopoda secreted phosphate and carbonate shells and populated many and highly diverse marine habitats. This required great flexibility in the adaptation of soft and hard tissues to the different marine environments and living conditions. This review presents, juxtaposes and discusses the main modes of mineral and biopolymer organization in Recent, carbonate shell-producing, brachiopods. We describe shell tissue characteristics for taxa of the orders Rhynchonellida, Terebratulida, Thecideida and Craniida. We highlight modes of calcite and organic matrix assembly at the macro-, micro-, and nano-scales based on results obtained by Electron Backscatter Diffraction, Atomic Force Microscopy, Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy and Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy. We show variation in composite hard tissue organization for taxa with different lifestyles, visualize nanometer-scale calcite assemblies for rhynchonellide and terebratulide fibers, highlight thecideide shell microstructure, texture and chemistry characteristics, and discuss the feasibility to use thecideide shells as archives of proxies for paleoenvironment and paleoclimate reconstructions.

Anthropogenic load significantly affects the human body. It used to think that children, due to the high metabolism, are most susceptible to the effects of the urban ecosystem. Unfavorable environmental factors affect children's health, including dental health. Heavy metals tend to accumulate in the human body, namely in bones, hair, nails, and teeth. This can serve as an indicator of the technogenic load on the body. The process of maturation of tooth enamel is closely related to the intake of mineral components into the child's body. The aim of the work is a comparative analysis of the dental status and mineral composition of hard dental tissues in children at different levels of anthropogenic load. Material and methods. With the help of basic and additional examination methods, a comparative analysis of the dental status of primary school children was carried out and described. Using atomic emission spectrometry, the mineral composition of the hard tissues of the teeth of the children under study was studied. Results. It was found that in children in an area with a high anthropogenic load, the prevalence of dental caries and the presence of systemic hypoplasia of the enamel of permanent teeth are higher. Also, these children showed a relatively low caries resistance of the enamel and the content of micro-macroelements in the hard tissues of the teeth. Conclusions. To study dental morbidity in children of primary school age at different anthropogenic loads, it is necessary to carry out a complete examination, including basic and additional research methods. Also, laboratory methods of examination are recommended, namely, the determination of the mineral composition of the hard tissues of the teeth.

Abstract Start The experiments in evaluation of hard tissues using the Raman spectroscopy method have been made. Spectral differences between the tooth enamel and dentin before and after the in-office whitening procedure were found as a result of the work. It was shown with the use of the Raman spectroscopy method that the whitening process causes changes of tooth enamel and dentin related to the changes of organic and mineral components.
