This research is about "Growth Rate and Survival Rate of Baronang Siganus canaliculatus Fish Given Different Types of Feed and Frequency in the Floating Net Cages. The research lasted as long as for 6 (six) months from May to October 2018.The design of this study used a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) using 2 factors as treatment, namely: (1) 50% of the trash fish, 50% papaya leaves, and 25% trash fish & 75% papaya leaves. (2) the frequency of feeding once, the frequency of feeding 2 times and the frequency of feeding 3 times. This treatment is to see whether there is a significant difference between the treatment of growth rate and survival rate of baronang fish (Siganus canaliculatus) as the research sample. From the research data analyzed using ANOVA, it was found that the type of feed and the frequency of distribution had a significant effect on the growth rate. Based on statistics, the results of this study showed no significant effect between treatments on growth, survival and FCR. Feeding with a composition of 50% trash fish and 50% papaya leaves with a frequency of 3 times gave the highest growth rate, survival and FCR values for rabbit fish (Siganus canaliculatus) rearing for 120 days in Floating Net Cages

Muh. Aryan R Suci. Growth of Baronang Fish (Siganus canaliculatus) in Basic Net Cages in Different Seagrass Conditions on Lantang Peo Island, Takalar Regency. Lantang Peo Island which is one of the islands which is covered by several types of seagrass. Data collection was carried out from September to October 2016 at the Lantang Peo estuary. The first treatment is observation of density, cover and identification of seagrass. The second treatment is measuring water quality and the last one is measuring the weight and length of the baronang fish. Observation of seagrass species obtained Enhalus accoroides and Thalassia hempichii species. The total density of seagrass at Station I was 47 (teg / m2) 10.03% cover of seagrass, 70 (teg / m2) density of seagrass at Station II was 17.12% and the total density of seagrass at Station III was 90 (teg / m2) 18.13%. Observation of the absolute growth of baronang fish weight at station I of 1 gr. At station II the absolute weight growth of fish is 3 gr and at station III the absolute weight growth of fish is 5 gr. Observations of the absolute length increase of fish at Station I were 1 cm, the absolute length increase of fish at Station II was 2 cm and the absolute length increase of fish at Station III was 3 cm. This difference occurs due to the different density structure of the seagrass at each station.

White-Spotted Rabbitfish (Siganus canaliculatus Park, 1797) are herbivorous fish that are associated with seagrass habitat and are widely distributed in mangrove and coral reef habitats. The waters of the Buntal  Island – Kotania Bau have an ecosystem of seagrass medows, mangroves and coral reefs, with the association of S. canaliculatus as one of the target catch of fishermen. The purpose was study to analyze the biological aspects of S. canaliculatus, including: sex ratio, size of first maturity, and fecundity. The research was conducted from October 2015 until January 2016 in the waters of Buntal Island, Kotania Bay. Fish samples were collected from fishermen's catch using bottom gill nets and Set net. Each fish sample was dissected for sex determination and gonad maturity level. The analysis is used to see the relationship between body length and weight and fecundity. The results showed that 167 fish and 149 female fish. The ratio of male and female was balanced, namely 52.85%: 47.15% or 1.1: 1 (X2count 4.13 <X2table 11.34). The size of first maturity of female is 14.98 cm (14.5 - 15.5 cm) smaller than the male 18.9 cm (18.8 - 19.1 cm). The high potential of S. canaliclulatus based on the Fecundity obtained was in the range of 524,000 - 1,286,359 eggs. There is a positive relationship between body length and fecundity, indicating that the value of Fecundity increases with body size. To support its sustainable use in the wild, it is necessary to regulate the size of S. canaliculatus that can be harvest at a body length of > 15 cm TL, to provide opportunities for spawning and support population growth before exploitation, thus supporting responsible and sustainable fisheries.

The white spotted rabbitfish (Siganus canaliculatus Park, 1797) is a commercially important commodity occurring in the northern coast and southern coast of Panguil Bay. This fish was reported to be caught by fishing gears like filter net, fish corral, bottom set gill net, stationary lift net, motorized scissors net, and spear. To understand the population dynamics and associated status of white spotted rabbitfish in Panguil Bay, the growth, mortality, exploitation and recruitment pattern were determined from June 2002 to May 2003. A total of 1,513 samples of white spotted rabbitfish were collected from the four sampling stations established in Panguil Bay. Growth was estimated using the FiSAT II and the estimated parameters were L∞ = 33.20 cm and K = 0.54 yr-1. Total, natural and fishing instantaneous rate of mortality values were Z = 3.80 yr-1 , M = 1.18 yr-1 , F = 2.62 yr-1 and the exploitation rate value was E = 0.69 yr1 . Projected recruitment pattern of S. canaliculatus suggests that this species spawns all year round. Based on the results, S. canaliculatus caught by fish corral in Panguil Bay from June 2002 to May 2003 was overexploited and that management strategies of this resource must be promulgated and implemented to address the depleting fishery.
