This study investigated training and supervision as predictors of Business Teachers' Job Performance in Nigerian Public Secondary Schools. A Descriptive research design of correlation types was adopted for the study. The population consisted of the entire 1,500 Business related subject teachers from four states in the North Central Geo-Political Zone of Nigeria. 550 samples were purposely selected as the respondents from 20 schools using proportional sampling techniques. A Structured questionnaire was purposely used to collect relevant data from the respondents. However, the checklist was used to collect WAEC/SSCE results of the sampled schools. The validity of the instrument was done by three experts from the Department of Business Education, Kwara State University. The reliability coefficient of 0.71 was obtained through a split-half method. The two research questions stated were answered using percentages and cumulative frequency statistical method, while the three hypotheses generated were tested using multiple regression analysis. The finding of the study revealed the poor performance of a student in Business-related subjects. However, there was a moderate level of Business Teacher job performance. Also, both training and supervision were discovered to be the predictors of Business Teacher Job Performance in Nigeria Public Secondary Schools. Regular capacity building such as workshops and conferences were recommended for the Teachers in addition to the regular external and internal supervision. The Government should also supply the necessary teaching facilities to help the teachers improve on teaching and learning.

Health is everyone’s business. Teachers are essential channels for transmitting societal values to the younger generation. To achieve this, attention must be paid to proper curriculum in teachers’ training. This study was designed to ascertain empirically the level of knowledge of teachers on the basics of medical sciences and to propose the introduction of Basic Medical Sciences in the curriculum for teachers training in Nigeria. The research design is a descriptive non-experimental survey. The research population was students of post-graduate diploma in Education (PGDE) and the sampling method was the random sampling method. The total study population is 1031 and the sample size is 165 determined by the method of Krejcie and Morgan. The control group was drawn from 80 students in 2nd semester 200 level of Anatomy, Physiology and Medicine & Surgery departments. The research instrument is a questionnaire. A total of 250 questionnaires were distributed, 234 returned but 12 were disqualified due to improper filling. Therefore 222 (88.8%) was used for the study. Our results showed that male respondents scored an average of 47.66% as against 88.91% from the control group. Female respondents scored an average of 43.70% asagainst 74.91% by the female control group. Respondents on the average scored 43.28% in Anatomy related questions and 49.49% in physiology related questions. It was concluded that knowledge of basic medical sciences among teacher-trainees in Nigeria is deficient. On this basis we propose the incorporation of Basic Medical Science in teachers’ training curriculum in Nigeria.

As online classrooms have recently become integral to the teaching of Business Education in the United Kingdom (UK) and as a key challenge here is to use available resources effectively, all business teachers must be proficient in deploying virtual learning. Most international students entering Business Education do not know how to use a virtual learning environment (VLE); many are grappling with the transition to adult life, living alone and away from families. All business teachers are therefore responsible for engaging and involving each of them; by adopting a socio-cultural model in virtual learning classrooms, they can work with students on the gradual development of key business skills and characteristics with potentially broad application. This article discusses: a socio-cultural approach to the online teaching and learning of Business Education, together with implications for practice; the socio-cultural model proposed by Brenton (2014), with its key elements – people (who), shared purpose (why), locating framework and social conditions (where), method (how) and activity (what). This particular model clearly incorporates the social and cultural characteristics of the student in business; it explains to students and develops in them such key business skills as problem-solving, creative thinking, communication, planning and organisation; it encourages in them self-management, self-efficacy, self-monitoring and a sense of responsibility. All of these skills and characteristics enhance employability and pave the way to future success in business enterprise. Understanding what Business Education students each bring to the virtual classroom is therefore essential to the creation of independent learners. The article focuses on the cultivation of collaboration in online classrooms and on developing communities of learning, with ideas for practice; it outlines the role of the lecturer in the virtual classroom, especially in sustaining inclusivity; it concludes by affirming the importance of lecturers’ development of a social collaborative process in virtual classrooms, of their establishment of an inclusive online ethos and of their encouragement of skills that enhance employability and lead to success in business too. Many learners with anxiety, shyness and personal barriers to integration with other business students can benefit from the application of a socio-cultural model in VLEs. There are clear implications for all key stakeholders – students, lecturers, policy makers and developers of online classroom technology.

This research examined the relative influence of pedagogical content knowledge and school climate on instructional effectiveness of secondary schools business teachers in Ijebu Division, Ogun State, Nigeria. Descriptive survey design was adopted for the study. Pedagogical Content Knowledge Scale (PCKS), Organizational Climate Index (OCI) and Teacher Effectiveness Questionnaire (TEQ) were used as the instrument for data collection. The statistical method of analysis used for testing the raised questions were Simple percentage, Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC) and Regression Analysis at 0.05 level of significance. The findings revealed that there was a positive relationship between pedagogical content knowledge, school climate and instructional effectiveness of secondary schools business teachers in Ijebu Division, Ogun State. Furthermore, pedagogical content knowledge, school climate significantly influenced the business teachers’ instructional effectiveness in secondary schools. It was recommended among others that principals should ensure that cooperative school climate that can inspire teachers to effectively fulfil their duties is created. The government should persuade and support business teachers to focus on conferences, workshops and seminars that will boost their pedagogical content knowledge in the fulfilment of their duties efficiently.

This study aims to analyze the relationship between teacher performance and the quality of student learning outcomes. The research method used survey method. Technique of collecting data using questioner of likert model. Respondents are 20 Management Business Teachers at Private Vocational High School in Bandung City. Data analysis technique using Rank Spearman. The results showed that teacher performance and quality of learning outcomes have a positive and significant relationship. Thus the performance of teachers relates to the quality of learning outcomes.ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan kinerja guru dan mutu hasil belajar siswa. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode survey. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket model likert . Responden adalah 20 Guru Bisnis Manajemen di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Swasta di Kota Bandung. Teknik analisis data menggunakan Rank Spearman.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kinerja guru dan mutu hasil belajar memiliki hubungan yang positif dan signifikan. Dengan demikian kinerja guru berhubungan terhadap mutu hasil belajar.

This research is quantitative and carried out using the research design of one group Pre test posttest. The research sample was 4th grade students who became small doctors in 7 elementary schools in Surau Gadang Village. Implementation of research November - December 2018. Primary data obtained directly from filling out the research questionnaire by sample. Based on these results it can be concluded that there are differences in knowledge, attitudes and skills before and after the formation of larvae soldiers in Public Elementary Schools in the Prevention of DHF Cases in Surau Gadang Sub-District, Nanggalo District, Padang City in 2018. It is expected that the school will complete facilities such as flashlights. School Health Business Teachers supervise larva soldiers once a week. For DHF program holders the Health center can continue the DHF counseling activities to schools once a month and provide leaflets and posters about DHF

Purpose Determining the attributes of effective business teachers is critical to schools as they strive to attract and retain students, assure learning, obtain and maintain reputation and accreditations, and place their alumni in the competitive job market. The purpose of this paper is to examine students and faculty perceptions of teaching effectiveness in five culturally disparate countries: Colombia, France, Lebanon, Sweden, and the USA. Design/methodology/approach A survey was designed based on previous research complemented by an extensive literature review as well as personal communications with faculty in different international business schools. The survey considered 39 teaching attributes related to three specific dimensions: class delivery, class preparation and design, and instructional traits and personal characteristics. The survey targeted students and faculty from seven business schools located in five countries. Findings This study offers new conceptual and analytical analyses from a cross-country comparative perspective. Rankings of the importance of perceived teaching attributes for both major groups involved in the teaching of business, faculty and students, are reported. The attributes are also ranked by teaching taxonomy and examined across countries. Practical implications This study provides practical results that can be useful to instructors wishing to increase their teaching effectiveness and to universities considering revising their student evaluation forms. Originality/value This study includes data collected from faculty and students from several schools located in culturally disparate countries and, thus, increases the applicability of the results in a cross-cultural manner and provides implications for practice internationally.

This study aims to explain the knowledge sharing behavior of business teachers of Pakistani Universities using the theory of planned behavior. For this purpose, data was collected from 157 business teachers serving in the Pakistani Universities. Smart-PLS has been used to analyze the collected data. Factor analysis and Cronbach’s alpha confirmed the validity and reliability of the measurement scales. Similarly, Structural model were applied to find out the relationship among independent variables (attitude towards knowledge sharing, subjective norms of knowledge sharing, perceived behavioral control of knowledge sharing) and dependent variable (knowledge sharing intention and knowledge sharing behavior). The findings show positive and significant relationship among all the study variables.
