This study replicated and expanded social comparison theory predictions in regard to how exposure to online models and explicit comparison goals affected planned behaviors and self-efficacy to lose weight in men and women. A 2 (models’ attractiveness: more attractive vs less attractive) × 2 (models’ weight status: lower vs higher) × 2 (explicit social comparison instructions: present vs absent) × 2 (gender: female vs male) factorial design was adopted ( N = 418). Women and men exposed to online photos of more attractive models reported higher planned behaviors to lose weight relative to those who were exposed to photos of less attractive models, thus replicating previous research. Participants exposed to more attractive and higher weight models reported higher self-efficacy to lose weight relative to those exposed to more attractive and lower weight models. Contrary to the prediction, women who did not receive social comparison instructions showed higher planned behaviors to lose weight relative to women who were instructed to explicitly compare themselves against the models. The study discusses implications for social comparison research and avenues for future inquiry.

Despite the potential governmental agenda towards cash waqf, this area has been givessn limited attention in academic literature with special regards to the supply side. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the factors influencing the public intention in endowing cash waqf by utilizing an extended theory of planned behaviors (TPB); in which religiosity, knowledge, and trust variables are added. Primary data from 685 respondents in Indonesia are analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). The result showed that the intention to endow cash waqf is positively affected by all of the TPB variables (attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control) and other extended variables. The findings suggest an optimization in waqf fund collection and waqf fund management.  For waqf collection, it is important to improve public literacy and the quality and quantity of supporting facilities and systems. Meanwhile, institutional management should be strengthened for waqf management.

The business digitalization wave has changed the entrepreneurship landscape globally. The existing digital enabler practices and thinks differently through making an item or arrangement that utilizes the ability of innovation to change the way was customarily done, especially in UAE. The power of technology completely changed the economics of an industry, where entrepreneurial venture aims to meet a marketplace or a platform that require them to transform into digital enablers as a successful technopreneur. This research aims to develop a new leadership model for successful technopreneur in the UAE. Adapting the theory of planned behaviors to predict a person's goal to participate in technology behavior and the transformational leadership theory that focuses on a leader towards identifying technology needs for better performance. A survey approach as a primary data collection was applied to test concepts and reflect the attitude of 323 respondents among technopreneur from the Innovation and Entrepreneur Centre located in Abu Dhabi. The data were analyzed through SmartPLS software for Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) path modeling method that indicates that leadership factors of authenticity, devolved decision making, agility, collaborative achievement, and purpose and direction have a positive relationship towards successful technopreneur in UAE. The mediation outcomes of digital enablers indicate a positive relationship between leadership factors and successful technopreneur in UAE.

The method used is a quantitative method using a pre-experimental design with the type of one group pre-post test, the application of instructional leadership is carried out by the Head of Study Program for one semester with the GPA assessment using observations through the GPA transcript value. The sampling design used a total sampling technique, namely 63 students in semester 1. The results of the study through the paired t-test obtained a significant value of p = 0.000 on the student's GPA. The conclusion of this study is that the application of Instructional Leadership with the TPB approach can increase student GPA. This research can be applied by the Head of Study Program in carrying out its duties and functions so that it can improve student academic achievement

The built environment in today's hybrid cities is changing radically. The pervasiveness of networked mobile and embedded devices has transformed a predominantly stable background for human activity into spaces that have a more fluid behavior. Based on their capability to sense, compute, and act in real time, urban spaces have the potential to go beyond planned behaviors and, instead, change and adapt dynamically. These interactions resemble improvisation in the performing arts, and this book offers a new improvisation-based framework for thinking about future cities. The book moves beyond the smart city concept by unlocking performativity, and specifically improvisation, as a new design approach and explores how city lights, buses, plazas, and other urban environments are capable of behavior beyond scripts. Drawing on research of digital cities and design theory, the book makes improvisation useful and applicable to the condition of today's technology-imbued cities and proposes a new future for responsive urban design.

Product piracy inhibits creative talents, innovation and significantly affects the economic benefits for original creators of entertainment ideas and products. Based on Theory of Planned Behaviors, the purpose of this qualitative multiple-case study was to explore some consumer behaviors which influence purchases of pirate entertainment products in New York City. Data were collected from 50 participants who have purchased pirated entertainment products for atleast 2 years. Data analysis involved thematic analysis. The 3 emergent themes in final report related to Personal, Cultural, and Social Influences on entertainment consumers purchases of pirated products. The findings could result in strategies for managers to inhibit piracy and alleviate damaging effects to sales and profitability of entertainment products. This study is beneficial to the entertainment practitioners, academics, managers and policy makers.
