The methodological basis is centered the representationof scientific and methodological activities of the National Library is bibliometric analysis, which involves thestudy of basic statistical and bibliographic indicators of a particular area of rk with quantitative, qualitativedata, information analysis, and synthesis of semantic features of content and bibliographic data. The scientificnovelty consists in the complex bibliometric analysis of the scientific and methodical activity of the applieddepartment of the National Library and estimation of own potential and definition of prospects of developmentof this direction of activity of division. Conclusions. Solving applied problems of linguistic support of libraryinformation retrieval systems is accompanied by appropriate scientific and methodological activities. Byrepresenting the main object of study in bibliometric research is the dynamics of publishing activity in agiven period, the published works of specialists of the department were grouped by characteristics: authors, thematic sections, types of publications, periodicals, and more. One of the areas of bibliometric research wasthe separation of the total number of publications that are co-authored and created in collaboration withexperts from other institutions. In general, the material presented in the article allows identifying problematicaspects of scientific and methodological activities of the applied department of the library and promisingareas of development in the linguistic support of library information retrieval systems. The use of bibliometricanalysis techniques for certain areas of library work contributes to the improvement of management processesin applied areas of libraries. Keywords: library, information retrieval systems, linguistic support, scientific and methodical activity, bibliometric analysis.

The results of a sociolinguistic analysis of factors that reduce the language competence of Sakha schoolchildren in a broad extralinguistic context based on field data representing the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of the research object is presented in the article. Attention is paid to the functioning of the Yakut language in the field of education, which is undergoing various transformations depending on the course of the state educational policy, the socio-economic state of the region and the processes of globalization, the consequences of which form risks for the ethnocultural component of communities in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation with non-dominant languages. It is argued that the language policy in the field of education, which implements “de jure” bilingual, polylingual models, in the implementation of which the formal approach prevails, actually minimizes the presence of the Yakut language in the education system due to insufficient consideration of linguistic attitudes and the real needs of the Sakha ethnic community. It is noted that the conditions of active contact bilingualism in the regions of the Russian Federation, a variety of ambiguous extralinguistic factors predetermine the strengthening of institutional support, state protectionism in the field of optimal linguistic support of training and educational processes. It is proved that taking into account the experience of research on family, civil language policy can help in obtaining an optimal solution to the problems of language reproduction on regional material.

At present, the formation of authoritative files system is an obligatory condition for organizing and managing electronic catalogues of large scientific libraries. SPSTL SB RAS is managing its own authoritative file of subject headings, the work on which began in 2008, and is actual until today. The paper describes the results of creating and managing an authoritative file of subject headings of SPSTL SB RAS in the period of 2011 – 2020: the history of the file creation is mentioned; the importance of linguistic support of the electronic catalogue for conducting information search is marked; the necessity for analyzing the current state of affairs and evaluating the authoritative file quality is pointed out.The analysis is based on the results of implementing the statement of work for creating the authoritative file; the program of step-by-step works is reproduced and the results of accomplishing each stage, the complexity of the tasks are evaluated. The article indicates the need to edit subject headings in accordance with the requirements of the method of objectification; to pair information search languages: library and bibliographic indices of classification and subject headings. It also indicates the problem of filling the authoritative file with new subject headings, reveals the necessity of checking the vocabulary by alphabetical index. The conclusion forms the notion about the current state of the authoritative file, the terms of work on implementing the statement of work. The main problem of completing the creation of an authoritative file of subject headings of SPSTL SB RAS is indicated; ways to solve this problem are suggested.

Information, computer environments and systems require not only technological, but also psychological, neuro-linguistic support. The evolution of a digital, competency-based society requires the active introduction of information and communication technologies in all key areas (e-government, e-learning, e-business, etc.). There is also a negative impact of such an evolutionary process, for example, the emergence of IT risks and threats to the individual, society and society. It is also possible to strengthen the information confrontation, hybrid war, "Trojan training", etc. It is very important to ensure the security of multilevel distributed information structures of the digital economy. The article discusses the systemic analysis of this problem, explores some specific aspects and tasks, in particular the use of ontologies and formalization. System-synergistic analysis of psychological readiness and its support by ontological approach was carried out. System objectives of network attacks and psychological influences in conditions of evolution of distributed infological system are revealed. A general model of system security ontology in a formal-semantic and infological form is proposed. Everything is implemented based on the semantics of controlled process metadata (Resource Description Framework), metadata prediction languages (Ontology Language), ontology standards, analytics, "parallelization" of knowledge and updating of knowledge bases, Big Data, Data Mining, Social Mining, Data Centers, multi-agent and other systems.

Newcomers to Canada with low proficiency in English or French often face challenges in the workforce (Kustec, 2012). While language classes provide workplace language training, not all newcomers are able to attend face-to-face classes (Shaffir & Satzewich 2010), suggesting a need for outside the classroom, occupation-specific language training. The use of technology has been shown to be advantageous for second language (L2) learning (Stockwell, 2007), especially when used outside the classroom (i.e., mobile-assisted language learning), as mobile technology affords learners greater control and flexibility over their own learning (Yang, 2013). This paper reports on a study investigating the development of a blended curriculum for L2 learners employed in customer service. A technology-mediated module was designed and developed within a task-based language teaching framework to provide workplace-linguistic support on mobile devices, enabling learners to access the language instruction they needed, when they needed it. The module contents and usability were assessed by high-beginner English proficiency newcomers employed in customer service (n=4) and their volunteer teachers (n=4). Results confirm the overall benefits of using language learning technology in providing instruction that meets participant language needs, ensuring opportunities for individualized training. Implications for designing, implementing, and researching technology-mediated modules are discussed.

Covid-19 has surfaced a number of educational issues in New Zealand schools and universities. Many schools and universities were able to move all teaching online within a short time. However, this flexibility was not shared by all educational institutions, or all students. Students from vulnerable communities did not enjoy the same access to learning as those from more affluent schools. The mental and emotional health of many learners, their families and teachers suffered from feelings of isolation. When the national borders closed to international students, departments set up to support their academic language learning have closed. This leaves emergent bilinguals without the linguistic support promised in the New Zealand Curriculum. This in turn endangers the academic success of another vulnerable community.

The studies were accomplished at the Central Scientific Agricultural Library (CSAL) to update the industry-wide linguistic instruments used in the Library’s Information Retrieval System and union catalog of the research institutions’ libraries of the Agroindustrial Complex (AIC) of Russia. The set of linguistic tools is briefly described; the two-level model of the linguistic support structure is introduced. The significance and advantages of using information retrieval languages in the Automated Information-Retrieval System are discussed. The purpose of the study was to improve the information support of research in the AIC in terms of actualization of the database (BD) of the Information Retrieval Thesaurus in Agriculture and Food and the database “Authority File (AF) of Scientific Research Institutions (SRI) in the AIC”. Brief descriptions of these information retrieval languages and their functions are included. The functions of the Information-Search Thesaurus are: to index documents and inquiries; to reflect the paradigmatic relations between lexical units; to control and normalize lexis in agriculture and food; to provide unified and formalized information representation in AGROS database; to expand automatically document search profiles; it also functions as a terminological guide in agriculture and food. As the guide, it retrieves the names of institutions since the foundations date; it can be also used for constructing the bibliographic record element (organization’s name. or corporate author); and retrieves information from information resources. The procedures for adding new lexical items and revising the previously included data are described.
