Abstract The current scientific findings show a high probability of a recurrence of a suicide attempt with a police officer, who has already tried to commit suicide. They problematize the reliability of psychological examinations for limited firearm access. The article presents good practice of confronting the issue of suicide among members of the Slovenian Armed Forces, which could serve as a model for the police officer protection measures. Since 1991, the number of suicides in the police has been gradually decreasing. However, in the period 2009-2020, the number has been moderately increasing, mainly due to the higher number of suicides in the period 2018-2020. With the statistic method Chi-squared test, we have established that the number of suicides in the period 2018-2020 is not statistically significant in comparison to the period 2009-2017, or its significance is borderline. Key words Suicide, suicidality, police.

Suicide is a huge public health problem, which needs more attention. One doctor commits suicide in the U.S. every day -- the highest suicide rate of any profession. According to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, physicians are at a higher risk than the general population for suicide. Methods: A Brief Communication that focus on the starkest sign of the crisis gripping medicine: the number of physicians who commit suicide every year. Include: discovery or development of new information’s, novelty in modeling  scientific, elucidation of mechanisms editorials and channels of information. Results: The medical profession has proven to have one of the highest risks of death by suicide among professions. About 15-30% of students and residents screen positive for depression. Studies also show that 1 in 16 trainees report suicidal ideation. The researchers also suggest that psychiatry help is still a taboo among doctors. Limitations: As Short Communications are expected to have higher than average impact on the field rather than report on incremental research, they will receive prioritized and rapid publication. Conclusion: Strategies to reduce preventable deaths should include preventive and treatment service. We should all strive to help usher in a new era of medical culture that promotes sustainable medical careers. Excessive pressures and expectations at work, may entail   to a loss of meaning of work and of self for physicians. Key-words: Suicide; Doctors; Medicine; Mental Health

In the article, we analyzed the national strategies for the prevention of suicide that exist in the world. As a result of the analysis, we presented the concept of "Suicidal passport of the territorial community". It is a dynamic accounting system for signifi cant indicators that not only characterize the suicidal situation in the regional community, but also infl uence it. We have identifi ed two preferred categories for recording suicidal activity in the territorial community: "Characteristics of the suicidal situation in the territorial community" and "Resources for suicidal prevention". The authors propose to consider the concept of "Suicidal passport of the territorial community" as a supporting element of the National Strategy for the Prevention of Suicide in Ukraine. Key words: suicide, suicidal accounting, suicide prevention, suicidal passport of the territorial community, territorial community, self-annihilation

Objective: This paper has 3 objectives. First, we review the epidemiologic evidence for the association between suicidal behaviour and suicide in individuals diagnosed with antisocial, borderline, or narcissistic personality disorder. Second, we examine whether any potentially modifiable risk factors are associated with these diagnoses, based on existing empirical evidence. Last, we discuss clinical approaches to assessing youth with antisocial, borderline, or narcissistic personality disorder presenting at risk for suicide. Method: We reviewed the English-language literature for the last 12 years (from January 1, 1991, to December 31, 2002), using as search terms the names of the 3 disorders, as well as the key words suicide, suicidal behaviour, youth, and adolescents. Results: Patients with antisocial or borderline personality disorder are likely to be at increased risk for suicidal behaviour when they demonstrate such comorbid disorders as major depressive episodes or substance abuse disorders, when they experience recent negative life events, or when they have a history of childhood sexual abuse. Conclusions: For patients with antisocial personality disorder, the risk of violence has to be judged in addition to the risk of suicide or self-harm. For patients with borderline personality disorder, interventions are determined by differentiating acute-on-chronic from chronic risk of suicidal behaviour. Finally, patients with narcissistic personality disorder can be at high risk for suicide during periods when they are not suffering from clinical depression. These episodes can seem to be unpredictable.
