Background: Evidence indicates that the processing of facial stimuli may be influenced by incidental factors, and these influences are particularly powerful when facial expressions are ambiguous, such as neutral faces. However, limited research investigated whether emotional contextual information presented in a preceding and unrelated experiment could be pervasively carried over to another experiment to modulate neutral face processing. Objective: The present study aims to investigate whether an emotional text presented in a first experiment could generate negative emotion toward neutral faces in a second experiment unrelated to the previous experiment. Methods: Ninety-nine students (all women) were randomly assigned to read and evaluate a negative text (negative context) or a neutral text (neutral text) in the first experiment. In the subsequent second experiment, the participants performed the following two tasks: (1) an attentional task in which neutral faces were presented as distractors and (2) a task involving the emotional judgment of neutral faces. Results: The results show that compared to the neutral context, in the negative context, the participants rated more faces as negative. No significant result was found in the attentional task. Conclusion: Our study demonstrates that incidental emotional information available in a previous experiment can increase participants’ propensity to interpret neutral faces as more negative when emotional information is directly evaluated. Therefore, the present study adds important evidence to the literature suggesting that our behavior and actions are modulated by previous information in an incidental or low perceived way similar to what occurs in everyday life, thereby modulating our judgments and emotions.

Cognitive theories of depression posit that after a negative event or mood state, those vulnerable to the disorder automatically impose negative interpretations on ambiguous information. However, empirical research on depression-linked interpretive biases has yielded mixed results, likely due to flawed experimental paradigms and statistical techniques that do not adequately control for anxiety. Cognitive Bias Modification for Interpretation (CBM-I) is an innovative research paradigm that involves inducing interpretive biases in an experimentally controlled manner. The current study is the first to assess whether cognitive bias modification influences interpretation differently according to vulnerability to depression. Individuals scoring lower and higher on a depression inventory judged the relatedness of either neutrally valenced (e.g. book-read) or negatively valenced (e.g. sick-vomit) word-pairs. They then made judgements about homophone word-pairs, in which the first word could be interpreted as either neutral in meaning (e.g. dye-ink) or negative in meaning (e.g. die-death). At the later stages of processing all individuals, regardless of depression scores, resolved ambiguous word-pairs in a training-congruent manner, consistent with previous CBM-I studies. However, in the early stages of processing, those scoring higher, but not lower in the depression inventory, were uniquely receptive to negative context training, such that they were more likely to interpret ambiguous word-pairs in a negative as opposed to neutral manner. This finding is crucially important, as it helps to clarify theoretical debate in the literature.

The COVID-19 vaccination aims to reduce the transmission of COVID-19, reduce morbidity and mortality due to COVID-19, achieve herd immunity, and protect the community from COVID-19 to remain socially and economically productive. The role of social media in the era of digital technology can bring positive things as well as negative things, in a positive context there are invitations in the form of motivation to participate in vaccination programs. Meanwhile, in a negative context, the COVID-19 vaccination has become a cornering or scary hoax. However, this news cannot be verified. However, this news greatly influences a person's decision to participate or not in the vaccination program in addition to doubts about the safety of vaccines, doubts about the effectiveness of vaccines, distrust of vaccines, fears of side effects such as fever and pain, and religious reasons. This study will explain the level of participation of workers who work in Hospital X in receiving a prioritized vaccination program for health workers. The research method used is descriptive, where data is collected in the period from January 29, 2021, to May 10, 2021. The vaccination program which is an alternative to breaking the chain of the spread of COVID-19 is welcomed by its implementation in Hospital X with the participation rate of the results. reached 92%. The remaining 8% were not vaccinated because they did not receive a recommendation from a doctor or refused the vaccine because they were worried about the side effects.

AbstractDistal-less homeobox-1 (DLX1) is a well-established non-invasive biomarker for prostate cancer (PCa) diagnosis, however, its mechanistic underpinnings in disease pathobiology are not known. Here, we reveal the oncogenic role of DLX1 and show that abrogating its function leads to reduced tumorigenesis and metastases. We observed that ~60% of advanced-stage and metastatic patients display higher DLX1 levels. Moreover, ~96% of TMPRSS2-ERG fusion-positive and ~70% of androgen receptor (AR)-positive patients show elevated DLX1, associated with aggressive disease and poor survival. Mechanistically, ERG coordinates with enhancer-bound AR and FOXA1 to drive transcriptional upregulation of DLX1 in ERG-positive background. However, in ERG-negative context, AR/AR-V7 and FOXA1 suffice to upregulate DLX1. Notably, inhibiting ERG/AR-mediated DLX1 transcription using BET inhibitor (BETi) or/and anti-androgen drugs reduce its expression and downstream oncogenic effects. Conclusively, this study establishes DLX1 as a direct-target of ERG/AR with an oncogenic role and demonstrates the clinical significance of BETi and anti-androgens for DLX1-positive patients.

Within the framework of this study, the problem of identifying shortcomings in the current model of positioning the events of the Great Patriotic War at the state level is being solved in terms of assessing the prospects for its development The methodology of this work is formed through a combination of descriptive analysis and secondary processing of data from mass surveys of leading sociological agencies in Russia The theoretical foundation of the research is built by integrating the concepts of social memory by Durkheim, M Halbwachs, P Riker and J Assmann The authors concluded that the current model of the memorial positioning of the events of the Great Patriotic War by the state is built without considering some fundamental laws of the formation of social memory in the context of reproduction and preservation of national-state identity The basic symbols that determine the space of the memorial narrative can be positioned fundamentally, depending on the context of the narrative and the specifcs of the political situation The most important contradiction is manifested in the declaration of mass heroism, and outstanding achievements against the background of the negative positioning of the socio-political are levelled through the negative context within which the previous and subsequent events are described There is a lack of reflection on the expected change in the broadcast formats of the memorial narrative in the medium term at the strategic level.

Communicating one's mindset means transmitting complex relationships between concepts and emotions. Using cognitive network science, we reconstruct the mindset around suicide as communicated in 139 genuine suicide notes. Despite their negative context, suicide notes are surprisingly positively valenced and their ending statements are markedly more emotional, i.e. elicit deeper fear/sadness but also stronger joy/trust and anticipation, than their main body. By using emotional states from the Emotional Recall Task, we "open the lid" of suicidal narratives and compare their emotional backbone against emotion recall in mentally healthy individuals. Supported by psychological literature, we introduce emotional complexity as an affective analogue of structural balance theory, measuring how elementary cycles (closed triads) of emotion co-occurrences mix positive, negative and neutral states in narratives and recollections. Both authors of suicide notes and healthy individuals exhibit less complexity and more emotional coherence than expected by chance. However, suicide narratives display higher complexity, i.e. a lower level of coherently valenced triads, than healthy individuals recalling the same states. Entropy measures identified a similar tendency for suicide letters to shift more frequently between contrasting emotional states. Our results demonstrate that suicide notes possess highly contrastive narratives of emotions, more complex than expected by null models and healthy populations.

Purpose – the implementation of eco-innovation practices is observed in the micro-level of the company and the integration of these practices with the overall firm’s strategy is inevitable. We set forth to investigate at what level the field of eco-innovation strategies has been studied at the firm-level. Research methodology – a review of the most influential articles in the field of eco-innovation strategies was conducted. A total of 929 scientific publications included in Web of Science (WoS) (Clarivate Analytics) database between 1990 and 2020 were taken into consideration. Findings – the results of this study reveal the following: (1) the increasing trend of publications in the field of eco-in- novation strategies; (2) the most influential articles related to the topic; (3) the gaps of extant research and future research directions. Research limitations – this study uses citations as a measure of influence which might be deceptive due to the fact that some authors might be citing themselves and / or citing publications in a negative context. Practical implications – findings provide relevant insights about the input and the output of eco-innovation strategies and serves as a guide for researchers and practitioners exploring eco-innovation strategies. Originality/Value – this study enhances the body of knowledge on the field of eco-innovation strategies. This is the first study, which investigates the scientific publications related to firm-level eco-innovation strategies and develops an operative conceptual model for future studies.
