The paper presents a flux crystal growth technique, studies of the structural peculiarities and the optical absorption spectra of double orthoborate TbCr3(BO3)4 with a huntite structure. The intensities of the phonon modes were used to determine the ratios of the rhombohedral and monoclinic polytypes for this compound, depending on the growth conditions. The broadband absorption spectra of the Tb3+ ions in TbCr3(BO3)4 single crystals were studied in the temperature range from room temperature to 3.0 K. From them, the energies of the crystal-field levels of the Tb3+ ion were determined. The temperature dependence of the absorption spectra of the Er3+ probe ion in TbCr3(BO3)4:Er(1%) shows that there are two phase transitions and agrees with their previously proposed interpretation: at 8.8 K, the chromium subsystem antiferromagnetically orders, and at 5 K, a reorientation of chromium magnetic moments occurs.

The results of the study of the fractional composition, structure and formation of forest litter in water protection pine plantations, which grow in the predominant moist forest vegetation conditions of Zhytomyr Polissia, are presented. The age range of stands varies between 18 and 85 years. It is established that water-protected pine stands in wet hygrotopes accumulate significant reserves of forest litter, which ranges from 33.0 t/ha in young plantations 77.0 t/ha in mature stands. The distribution of forest litter throughout area in most stands is uniform, although in young plantations its greater share is accumulated between rows. In terms of composition, the forest litter of pure pines is characterized by a medium dense structure, and in pines with an admixture of deciduous species, the litter is usually loose, due to the presence of annual fallen leaves in its upper horizon. The thickness of forest litter between rows of young plantations varies within and 2.6-2.9 cm without its clear distribution on the horizons. In medieval plantations, the horizons of the litter are already clearly distinguished. The total thickness of the litter is 4.0–4.3 cm. In the pre mature and mature pine stands the thickness of the forest litter profile varies between 6.0–6.3 cm. In the stands of older age groups the forest litter has mainly a three-layer structure. The trend of intensive accumulation of forest litter in the conditions of wet boreal and sub boreal conditions with the age of maturity is revealed. In pre mature plantations, the accumulation of litter slows down and in mature plantations; the processes of accumulation and decomposition of litter are leveled. The tendency of predominance of the active part and, accordingly, reduction of the inactive fraction of litter in the pre mature and mature plantations of wet sub boreal site compared to boreal conditions is indicated, which indicates more active processes of mineralization of litter in wet subboreal conditions.

Crumpled graphene fiber is a promising structure to be a graphene precursor to enhance the production and mechanical properties of various carbon fibers. The primary goal of the present work is to study the crumpled graphene of different morphologies using molecular dynamics simulations to find the effect of the structural peculiarities on the mechanical properties, such as the tensile strength, elastic modulus, and deformation characteristics. Mono- and poly-disperse structures are considered under uniaxial tension along two different axes. As it is found, both structures are isotropic and stress–strain curves for tension along different directions are very similar. Young’s modulus of crumpled graphene is close, about 50 and 80 GPa; however, the strength of the polydisperse structure is bigger at the elastic regime. While a monodisperse structure can in-elastically deform until high tensile strength of 90 GPa, structure analysis showed that polydisperse crumpled graphene fiber pores appeared two times faster than the monodisperse ones.

In this article the mono- and polypredicative utterances with syntactic synonymy of French fiction of the 20th – the beginning of the 21st c. are studied in the continuum language → discourse as transforms of virtual (linguistic) primary (pivotal) structures which are actualized in the form of mono- and polysynonymic compressed, extended and quantitatively equacomponential co(n)textually preferential options. The goal of this research is to distinguish the different semantic-structural types of analyzed constructions of modern French fiction and to inversely (discourse → language) reconstruct the primary structure of actualized synonymic transforms. In the article the transformational method is used to reveal the semantic-structural peculiarities of the pivotal syntagmata and propositions and of the mono- and polysynonymic transforms; and the method of the inverse reconstruction of virtual transformational processes in order to identify all the members of synonymic chains. It was proved that the redundant synonymic constructions are extended with adverbs, pronouns and predicates (active and passive extension), the compression is manifested most often by the contamination and the semantic and syntagmatic ellipsis. The elliptical constructions are defined in the research as structures with the implicit nominal/pronominal component and with the explicit, explicit-implicit or completely implicit predicate or the structures with the implicit complement where the implicit components are deduced associatively or co(n)textually. The different types of synonymic preferential options with the polysynonymisation at the level of syntagma or utterances were detected in modern French fiction. It was concluded that the author actualizes the mono- and polypredicative mono- and polysynonymiс constructions according to some communicative intention and planning of narration.

Abstract This research summarizes the results of study of structural peculiarities of Betula ermanii growing around Baransky Volcano close to the thermal Golubye Ozera. We have performed statistical analysis of parameters of the secondary phloem of multiyear shoots and stems and found some features tied to extreme environmental conditions. We have found that structural reaction of the secondary phloem of multiyear shoots and stems of B. ermanii to the extreme conditions of post-volcanic activity of Baransky Volcano manifests itself as changes in the geometry of the conductive elements and dilatation of the radial parenchyma in the non-conductive phloem. We believe these changes to be adaptive in nature due to the need for increased conductivity in volcanic landscapes.

The research aims to reveal the structure, phase, and elemental content of manganese ores from deposits—Bogach (Karaganda region, Kazakhstan) and Zhaksy (Akmola region, Kazakhstan). The samples were studied with scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive analysis (SEM-EDA), X-ray diffractometry (XRD), Infra-red spectroscopy (IRS). During the research, structural peculiarities, elemental and phase content of the samples have been revealed. The mineral matter of the Bogach deposit ore mainly consists of hollandite, cryptomelane, braunite, calcite, bixbyite, quartz. The Zhaksy deposit ore includes quartz, hollandite, bixbyite, pyrolusite. Bogach ore includes (wt.%) C(10.68), O(32.00), Mn(43.26), Ca(6.36), Si(3.51), Na(0.52), Al(1.13), Mg(0.69), K(1.85). The elemental content of Mn in Zhaksy ore is two times lower. Zhaksy ore includes (wt.%) C(23.77), O(32.1), Mn(21.81), Si(10.52), Al(5.13), K(1.21), Fe(5.47). The obtained data of the conducted spectral analysis indicate that both samples represent a polymineral heterogeneous structure. Conducted research allows to conclude, that by phase-elemental content the Bogach ore can be used for obtaining trimanganese tetraoxide pigment similar to manganese ores from West Sumatera deposit (Indonesia) by top-down method using grinding with a milling tool and high-temperature sintering.

The subject of this research is the peculiarities of different types of translation activity in the process of teaching students of non-philological specialties at Hanoi National University of Education. Being the direct participant of bilingual communication, the student applies the following behavioral vectors: reproduction of the semantic-structural peculiarities of the original text and adaptation of the translation text to a new linguocultural perception. This is namely the key to success in the bilingual communication, since the translator fulfills the communicative, ideological, cumulative (culturological) and even a correctional functions attempting to create the original text without flaws and shortcomings of the original text due incompetence of its author. Fulfilling any of these functions, the translator must desubjectivize the original text (extract the subjective meaning) and the translation text (taking into account the characteristics of the addressee) for the purpose of adequate objectification of the translation text in accordance with the situation. In this regard, the modern methods and techniques implemented in the pedagogical practice of Hanoi National University of Education are particularly relevant. The scientific novelty of this research lies in the attempt to determine the peculiarities of using games as a means of improving effectiveness of the Russian language class and implementation of game-based learning at Hanoi National University of Education.
