The article is devoted to the problem of training and studying the professional readiness for the activities of teachers-counselors in temporary children's and adolescent associations in suburban health camps and centers. The importance of well-organized pedagogical leisure is shown. The necessity of organizing special training of young counselors to work in temporary children's associations with different age and multicultural content is determined. The value of the developed and presented program of professional training of counselors on the basis of the children's health camp (DOL) «On the Seaside» of LLC «Bratskoe Seaside», consisting of seven substantive sections, is highlighted. A questionnaire of adaptability and socialization of children and adolescents in the conditions of a children's health camp, as well as a methodology for studying the self-esteem of a counselor as a person and a professional, has been developed and proposed for consideration. It is shown that the result of the survey of vacationing pupils, as well as the psychological diagnosis of teachers-counselors can be one of the main indicators of professional training and psychological and pedagogical readiness of counselors to work in the system of additional education in temporary suburban closed camps and centers.

The relevance of the article stems from the fact that every year for 26 years, the expedition of winterers goes to the Ukrainian Antarctic Station “Vernadsky Research Base” to carry out scientific research. Their effective adaptation to extreme conditions of life provides qualitative psychological diagnostics and psychological recommendations. The purpose of this article is to provide a theoretical justification and empirical evidence of the specific features of Ukrainian winterers’ age in the process of adaptation to the Antarctica conditions. To achieve the results of the study, the article uses the method of sociometric measurement J. Moreno, method of distributing topics by rank, questionnaire. The authors of the article analysed scientific works on the research problem, clarified the concept of “adaptation” and “adaptability” and age limits of the groups of winterers, described methodological tools and conducted empirical research on the specific features of the age of winterers groups during the adaptation. The article justifies the distribution and identifies groups of high, medium and low adaptability to life under extreme conditions in Antarctica. The authors analysed both the data from the empirical study and the interviews with the surveyed winterers. The study’s conclusions are: senior winterers have more experience adapting to extreme conditions than younger generations. They can build better interpersonal relationships in a closed community and easily carry distance from home and homesickness. The study revealed that senior persons (especially representatives of the “Generation of winners’ children”) motivate wintering in Antarctica with a desire for self-fulfilment, being worthy representatives of Ukraine on a distant continent, and feeling responsible for discharging their duties. After all, they are governed by more professional and social motivations that help to better adapt to extreme conditions. The practical value of the work is to develop tools for psychological diagnosis and to provide guidance on the selection of winterers among candidates for wintering

At the end of the nineteenth and in the early years of the twentieth century, encouraging violent criminals to write their life stories became an accepted tool of forensic medicine. The autobiographical texts which emerged became vital building blocks in the psychological diagnosis of the subject. One of the leading international exponents of this method was the Lyon-based professor Alexandre Lacassagne, who developed a science of criminal anthropology guided by the principles of heredity and phrenology (the idea that mental functions could be precisely located in specific parts of the brain). Lacassagne was fascinated by abnormal behaviour and urged the inmates of Lyon prisons to write their autobiographies. He took a paternal interest in them, studied their tattoos, and used their life writing as a key to understanding the criminal personality. Philippe Artières has been working on Lacassagne’s papers for over 25 years, and they formed the basis of his previous work Le livre des vies coupables: autobiographies de criminels, 1896-1909 (The book of guilty lives) (Paris, 2000 and 2014). In this new book, he revisits one particularly disturbing case – the Bladier affair of 1905.

The article undertakes the topic of psychological diagnosis in a situation of joint custody from the forensic psychologist’s perspective. The authors underline the necessity of deep psychological analysis of the issue in order to answer the question of how separating parents can create the best possible conditions of care for their child and how to minimize the stress inevitably accompanying all family members in such a situation. Parenting model in which both parents are similarly engaged in upbringing process and the child lives at both parents’ places is discussed. The authors summarize benefits and disadvantages of parenting with the so-called ‘leading parent’ and joint custody trying to show the importance of organization of the parenting that first of all minimizes the unavoidable stress of the child in the situation of separation and protects existing bonds. It was proposed that the process of psychological diagnosis for legal purposes should not focus on which parent has higher level of ‘parental competence’, but should consider which specific situation may be the most beneficial for the child, bearing in mind the priority given to fostering attachment. This implies the need to change parents’, lawyers’ and psychologists’ way of thinking. For forensic psychologists, the proposed perspective may even require a reorganization of diagnostic process.

The subject of the study is the behavior of the organization’s employees in a conflict situation, the object is JSC “DOM.RF” it is a Russian organization specializing in the provision of banking services. The study is based on the use of the methods of K. Thomas and R. Kilmann to determine the level of conflict of personality. On its basis had obtained the distribution of employees of one of the structural divisions of the organization according to such styles of behavior in a conflict as confrontation, cooperation, compromise, evasion and adaptation. The obtained results made it possible to propose integral indicators for assessing the level of conflict and team coordination. Their value for the examined organization’s structural subdivision indicates the dominance of employees who shows unconstructive behavioural patterns in conflict situation preventing this situation being solved. Taking to account the specifics of the activities of the examined staff the results are quite acceptable but suggest mandatory prevention of the increase of conflict of the examined team. Among the main directions of reducing the level of conflict of the team is proposed: identifying the level of conflict of employees according to the Thomas- Kilmann methodology, determining the levels of conflict and coordination of the team; using of psychological diagnosis of personality conflict during hiring for a vacant position; conducting psychological trainings for employees of a structural unit or organization as a whole with the aim to manage their behavior in a conflict situation.

Basing on the analysis and generalization of the scientific research results on children’s mental developmental delay (MDD) carried out in the post-Soviet countries, we have determined the general principles of psychological support for MDD children, in particular, the principles of MDD diagnosing, the content of corresponding psychological assistance and age of children needed for it. Attention has been drawn to weakened interest to this issue in Ukraine because of its controversial nature and insufficient study of some MDD aspects; in particular, determination of assistance recipients and the age of children needed such psychological assistance should be studied more deeply. The article author proposes differentiate MMD as clinical and psychological diagnoses. Thus, a psychological diagnosis determines a set of a child’s psychological problems, as well as positive signs of his/her development, which can become a basic for corrective assistance; this psychological diagnosis is considered as an integral part of a functional diagnosis along with its medical component and is revealed during a comprehensive assessment of a child’s development to determinate necessary psychological support applied during education and social adaptation. The benefits and disadvantages of two approaches to the examination of children’s mental development were identified: the testing approach determining a child’s actual development and a learning ability criterion as the most important principle used in the national diagnostics to assess a child’s potential. Our attention was focused on the fact that developmental delay as a relatively mild ontogenetic violation was determined due to the used learning ability criterion. The expediency of combination of a child’s testing and qualitative assessment of their intellectual activity was considered, such approach would allow significant expanding of knowledge about examined children, which would help to develop individual programs for inclusive education and development. MDD is polymorphic in terms of its stability and the structure of cognitive impairments, so children’s needs in psychological support should be differentiated. The studies examining social adaptation and deviant behavior prevention for children with developmental delay were analyzed and summarized, in particular, in adolescence and senior school age, which allowed the article author to conclude about necessary uninterrupted psychological support for such children during their education at basic school and social/labor self-determination. The cardinal issues included into psychological support for such children were highlighted, namely, the formation of their self-image, their life or professional prospects, social and auto-psychological competence. The examined issues of the modern studies on MMD are a starting point for development of a psychological assistance program for MMD children. Its implementation helps further development of individual techniques relevant for children of different ages with the aim to their integration into society.
