According to WHO, the incidence of anemia in adolescent girls in developing countries is around 53.7%, anemia often attacks young women due to stress, menstruation, or late meals. Lack of iron in adolescents results in pale, weak, tired, dizzy, and decreased concentration in learning. An academician has a busy schedule of lectures and activities so he doesn’t pay much attention to intake. Therefore, the researcher wanted to see if this affected Hb levels which could cause students to be weak, tired, lethargic, negligent, and forgetful in their activities. This research was conducted at the health campus of STIKes Surya Global Yogyakarta in 2021. This study aims to see the correlation between balanced nutrition with anemia in health students at STIKes Surya Global Yogyakarta in 2021.The research design used quantitative descriptive with a non-random sampling approach. Aim: This paper is to determine the incidence of COVID-19 infection and severe symptoms following spinal steroid injections for pain control. Methodology: This a retrospective observational study based in the department of neurosurgery, Salford Royal Foundation Trust. Study period is from March 23rd, 2020 till December 31st, 2020. 222 patients had these injections during the time period. Data was collected by telephonic interview and online questionnaire. Data was analyzed to find out how many of the people who received steroid injection got COVID infection and how many had severe infection. It was then compared with local infection rates. Results: Out of 222 patients found, 130 patients opted to take part in the survey. Six patients among them had tested positive after the injection and two more patients had symptoms of COVID who have been considered to be positive. Overall, 6.15% of patients who received steroid injections had positive COVID-19 results. 3.85% patients had the infection within 3 months of injection. One patient (0.77%) needed hospital admission due to COVID. The incidence of COVID during this time period in Salford was 6.17% and rate of hospital admission due to COVID was 0.77%. Conclusion: The rate of COVID-19 infection after steroid injection are lower than the local incidence of COVID in Salford during that time period and equivalent to the rate of hospital admission due to COVID. This suggests that a steroid injection in the spine for pain management does not increase the incidence of COVID or cause severe infections.

The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of reduced stocking density in combination with provision of additional enrichment material on pig welfare on-farm. On three growing-finishing farms in Austria, in total 974, 413, and 70 pigs were kept at 1 m2/pig and straw or hay in a rack as additional enrichment material (improved pens, IP; n = 6–38 pens per farm) or in pens complying with the minimum legal requirements of 0.7 m2/pig (control pens, CP; n = 6–37 pens per farm). Behavior as well as skin, tail and ear lesions and pig soiling were assessed at the beginning and in the middle of the fattening period, while performance data were recorded at the end of the fattening period. Data analysis was performed for each farm separately using generalized linear and linear mixed models or Mann-Whitney U-Test. Pigs in IP less frequently manipulated pen mates' ears (Farm 1: Ptreatment*assessment = 0.002; Farm 2: P = 0.002) and body (Farm 1: P = 0.021; Farm 2: P = 0.015) than in CP. Prevalence of skin, tail and ear lesions and soiled pigs did not differ between treatments. In only one farm, average daily weight gain was higher in IP than in CP (Farm 1: P = 0.003). Our findings indicate that increased space allowance and provision of substrate can improve aspects of animal welfare within existing pig fattening systems, without requiring irreversible constructional modifications to the system.

The AWD Mranggen store is a store that is engaged in the sale of bags, belts, shoes with sales developments increasing from year to year, with fairly tight business competition, the AWD Mranggen store must be able to calculate the estimated number of items to be purchased based on previous sales data, the prediction is very influential on the decision to determine the number of items to be provided by the AWD Mranggen Store for the next sales period data. Inventory of goods that are not right cause some losses in terms of time and also costs, it is necessary to have a forecasting system. Forecasting is a technique to identify a model that can be used to predict conditions in the future. By using the weight moving average method, it can be seen that the error value is more than smaller than other methods and the estimated results can be more precise so that it can help owners make decisions in carrying out inventory.

Abstract BackgroundCorrective surgery for hallux abducto valgus is one of the most commonly performed elective procedures in foot and ankle practice, with over a hundred different surgical solutions having been proposed throughout the literature. The purpose of the study was to identify the clinical and patient reported outcomes following Scarf-Akin osteotomies from five podiatric surgery centres over a ten-year period.MethodThis is a retrospective review from five podiatric surgical units which looked at patients who underwent Scarf osteotomies (in isolation or in combination with Akin procedures) over a ten-year period. Data was collected from the patient satisfaction questionnaires of the PASCOM-10 audit tool, which were completed by the patient six months post operatively, and further analysed using Microsoft Excel spreadsheet software.ResultsA total of 1351 patients were recorded undergoing Scarf (with or without an Akin) osteotomy for hallux abducto valgus, with 1227 females (90.83%) and 124 males (9.17%) identified but with only 1189 who had completed the patient satisfaction questionnaire. 96.8% of patients felt that their foot was either ‘better’ or ‘much better’ following surgery and that their original expectations of surgery had been met. Over 75% of patients had no post-operative sequalae identified, with metatarsal fracture noted to be the highest sequalae at 4.8%.ConclusionFrom the five podiatric surgery units reviewed, Scarf osteotomies (with or without an Akin osteotomy) for hallux abducto valgus correction, have a high level of patient satisfaction with low post-operative sequalae.Level of clinical evidenceIV (retrospective review).

Despite the increasing number of bariatric procedures being performed, the optimal strategy for managing the crura during laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) remains controversial. Options include no closure, primary suture closure, and suture closure with mesh reinforcement. We sought to investigate outcomes associated with each technique and determine if any approach proved to be superior. Methods This is a retrospective cohort study that evaluated patients undergoing LSG performed by a single surgeon in a 7-year period. Data were collected via chart review. The primary endpoint was hiatal hernia presence at 5 years post-operatively. Secondary endpoints included post-procedural complications (nausea, vomiting, dysphagia, or reflux) at 30 days post-operatively. Results A total of 361 patients were included in the analysis: 154 without crural closure, 164 primary crural closure, and 43 primary crural closure with mesh reinforcement. Rates of hiatal hernia occurrence at 5 years were 9.7% (no closure), 14.0% (primary closure), and 16.3% (closure with mesh reinforcement), respectively, and did not differ significantly among the 3 cohorts (P = .37). Overall rates of 30-day complications were 11.5%, 21.5%, and 28.6%, respectively ( P = .015). Conclusion Rates of hiatal hernia after sleeve gastrectomy do not differ, regardless of management of the crura. In addition, and perhaps more significantly, avoidance of crural closure was associated with fewer 30-day complications. In fact, the highest rate of 30-day complications was seen in the group that received closure with mesh reinforcement. These data suggest that crural closure during LSG should be avoided. Further prospective study of these findings is warranted.

Background: NT-proBNP is a biomarker of interest in many cardiopulmonary diseases in extremely low birth weight (ELBW) Infants. However, there is a gap in knowledge about the trend of ELBW infant’s urinary NT-proBNP during the neonatal period. Aim: To determine the trend of urinary NT-proBNP during the first four weeks of life of an ELBW infant Study Design: We analyzed prospectively enrolled, 87 ELBW infants. Urinary NT-proBNP to creatinine ratios were measured on days 1-7, day 14, and day 28 of life. In addition, we plotted each study point's means to determine the trend of urinary NT-proBNP over the entire neonatal period. Data were analyzed using the Friedman ANOVA for comparative analysis of study points. Results: Urinary NT-proBNP/creatinine ratios were significantly elevated on days 1-7 (mean 2452, + 1518) than day 14 (mean 747, +176), and day 28 (mean149, +54), p=0.001. Overall, urinary NT-proBNP levels were highest during the days 1-3 (mean 3232+1255) and lowest on day 28 (mean149, +54). Conclusions: Urinary NT-proBNP levels are higher during the first week in ELBW infants with a downward trend during the neonatal period, with the lowest values at four weeks postnatal age. More studies are required to determine the clinical utility of this trend during and beyond the neonatal period.
