The Brazilian National Biofuels Policy (RenovaBio) has as its main purpose to promote the growth of the biofuels chain in Brazil, from more efficient and sustainable production models, culminating in the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, as well as contributing to the fulfillment of the commitments assumed by the country at COP-21. RenovaCalc is a tool from RenovaBio that is capable of analyzing lifecycle inventory data of background processes, added to the technical parameters of agricultural and industrial production that is informed by the biofuel producer. The final product is given through an Energy-Environmental Efficiency Grade (NEEA). In this context, NEEA, together with raw material eligibility values, will serve as the basis for the calculation of decarbonization credits (CBios). Given this context, the present study sought to investigate three scenarios: S1: excluded agricultural phase; S2: 100% eligible soy combined with the use of beef tallow, and S3: production of biodiesel with 100% soybean oil. The study compared two biodiesel producing national industries to NEEA certified by the Brazilian National Office of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP). It can be concluded that NEEA does not have a direct influence on the quantity of CBios to be traded, that is, the highest ratio is given from the eligibility (%) of the raw material chosen for the production of the fuel. Thus, scenario 2, which relied on the use of waste, proved to be 10 times more profitable compared to the other scenarios, in both analyses, due to its high eligibility. However, in terms of NEEA, it was noted that the exclusion of the agricultural phase (scenario 1) was the one that was most efficient in terms of gCO2 eq./MJ. It is relevant to emphasize the importance of proper handling and practices that guarantee the traceability of the grain so that the eligibility indexes are optimized.

The burden of ectoparasitic infestations is aggravated by the lack of vaccines and the inability to prevent the most serious vector-borne infections. This makes the administration of effective and safe ectoparasiticide drugs vital for prevention and treatment. However, adverse clinical consequences of treatment with ectoparasiticides affect many companion animals in the UK each year. In this study, information about the frequency of adverse drug events associated with the use of some ectoparasiticides in dogs and cats was collected, from data obtained from The National Office of Animal Health compendium datasheets and data available from published studies. Different ectoparasiticides were associated with different prevalences and types of adverse dermatological, gastrointestinal and neurological events. The heterogeneity between studies and the lack of field safety data for some products precludes head-to-head comparison of adverse events associated with ectoparasiticide treatment between studies. Therefore, caution should be exercised about making any conclusions when comparing ectoparasiticides. However, the data indicated an association between ectoparasiticide treatment and adverse events and demonstrated that this association can vary across different drug administration routes and classes. The low number of observations of the adverse drug events, relative to the number of administered doses, confirms that the health benefits of ectoparasiticides far outweigh the potential risks associated with their use. Further research is required on how adverse drug events can be predicted and prevented.

Abstract. The general census of population and housing is a statistical operation which consists in counting all the populations and all the dwellings of a given territory at a precise date which must produce data of interest to t users and this is the essential statistical purpose of their execution. Each operation executed during a census must have the goal of producing results that meet the needs of the users. The information collected in this way has several interests of the country. The census in Algeria is taken by the National Statistics Office (ONS) which is preparing its sixth General Census of Population and Housing (RGPH). The census is organized in four steps that are: Cartographic Preparation, Staff Training, Execution of the RGPH, and Exploitation.Algeria, in this year 2020 is in phase of preparation of the RGPH, this phase relates to the cartographic aspect and our contribution will relate to the elaboration of a geographic information system (GIS) This phase concerns the cartographic aspect and our contribution will focus on the development of a geographic information system (GIS) allowing the management of the first stage of the RGPH operation, the latter having a mainly cartographic aspect. The design and production of this BDG were made on the basis of the reflections resulting from a careful study of the manuals for this operation and interviews with the local managers of this. In this perspective, a bibliographical study was made to be inspired by the experiences of other countries, and to gain some insight into the techniques used in them. The tools offered by Open Source software represent an important alternative to find a solution to this problem. The information collected during this preparation phase is also important and is very useful for local actors to better understand the space and distribution of the population, which will allow a more rational management of resources. The objective of this paper is focus of the integration of spatial techniques in the census in Algeria while presenting the national office of statistics. An overview of census techniques in different countries is made to illustrate the know-how of this national office. The purpose of the general population census is to give the state a means that cannot be circumvented so that it can plan, among other things, the budget for the coming years according to the distribution of the population and its demographics.

The US National Office for Harmful Algal Blooms at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) and the NOAA National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science (NCCOS) held a virtual workshop comprising four sessions between July 27 and August 5, 2020. This report summarizes the workshop proceedings and presents recommendations developed by participants during the discussion. The recommendations advance an assessment framework and a national research agenda that will lead to comprehensive evaluations of the socio-economic effects of harmful algal blooms (HABs) in fresh water (primarily the Great Lakes) and marine waters of the United States.

This article discusses disaster management in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma in Antigua and Barbuda. Vulnerability and resilience of individuals and groups in relation to disaster management are placed within structures such as gender, sexuality, (dis)ability, age and socio-economic status, etc. How stakeholders within disaster management such as the Directorate of Gender Affairs, the National Office of Disaster Services, and District Coordinators, understand and respond to vulnerability and resilience might reinforce or challenge such structures and power relations. This study draws on insights from intersectional feminism to examine which social categories are made (in)visible, and how power relations are reproduced or challenged. It shows that some social categories (age, family status, class and occupation) in relation to gender gain more attention than others (disability and sexuality). The understandings and responses make some social categories that have previously been invisible visible, and heteronormative and patriarchal processes were both reproduced and challenged.
