The article reflects the results of experimental testing of the monitoring program focused on studying the specifics of the manifestation of paternity in modern parents. Having carried out a detailed analysis of works related to parenting issues (studies by V.V. Abramenkova, A.I. Antonov, V.V. Boyko, V.I. Brutman, A.I. Zakharova, S.Yu. Meshcheryakova, R.V. Ovcharova, V.A. Petrovsky, N.Yu. Sinyagina, G.G. Filippova, A.G. Kharcheva; D. Bassin, E. Galinsky, M. Honey, M. Kaplan, etc.) by parenting we mean complex complex psychological education, which includes a set of value orientations of the parent, his attitudes, expectations, feelings and attitudes towards children, parental responsibility, as well as the style of family education. Since we consider positive emotions and feelings of parents towards their children as the basis of responsible and positive parenting, we tend to say that responsible parenting presupposes, first of all, the awareness of oneself as a parent not only as a woman (mother), but also a man - a father (this conclusion is based on the analysis of the research of T.B. Belyaeva, Y.V. Evsenkova, E.V. Krichevskaya, I.S. Kon, I.V. Rybalko, etc.). Summarizing the research results (works by E.A. Abrosimova, T.V. Arkhireeva, Yu.V. Borisenko, E.P. Ilyin, B.I. Kochubei, R.V. Ovcharova, T.A. Ponomareva, A.G. Portnova, N.V. Fedorova, G.G. Filippova, etc.) we can say that in families where fathers are responsible for the role of "parent" and fully perform their social functions (take care of children, are actively involved in their life, are systematically engaged in their upbringing), - children are distinguished by more harmonious development, they adapt more easily in society, they have fewer difficulties associated with their gender identification. At the same time, according to a number of scientists (works of S. Gampert, R. Horst, W.E. Fthenakis; Yu.V. Borisenko, Yu.V. Evseenkova, Yu.A. Latysheva, L.V. Russkikh, A.S. Spivakovskaya etc.), the educational position of the father in its formation lags behind the mother's position. The monitoring program developed by us, which included the author's questionnaire “I and my child”, M. Rokeach's methodology “Value orientations”, D. Olson's test methods “Real family”, “Ideal family”, as well as the parenting style questionnaire ACB E.G. Eidemiller and V.V. Yustitskisa is aimed at a detailed study of responsible parenthood and, as a consequence, the implementation by them of their most important social role of "parent".

Humans are social beings who are unable to live alone. The first environment for every human being when he is born into the world is family. Communication that occurs in the family is interpersonal communication. An ideal family would have dreams of having a harmonious life. But in reality, not all families can feel it. There are several factors that can cause this disharmony to lead to divorce. Every divorce that occurs, of course, has its own impact, especially for married couples who already have children. The impact of parental divorce will certainly form a different character for the child, especially for those who are growing up in their teens. The impact of divorce will also change the interpersonal communication that occurs between fathers and mothers and their children. The purpose of this study was to analyze the application of interpersonal communication in the family to children after their parents' divorce. This study uses a qualitative research approach with descriptive research methods. In this study, researchers interviewed a single father with his teenage children, a single mother with her child and a psychologist. The results of this study indicate that divorce has an impact on changing the interpersonal communication relationship between children and parents, which initially becomes tenuous, but not with parents who still live at home with their children.

This chapter presents, and responds to, an objection to the Significant Interest view which claims that people’s interest in acquiring genetic knowledge is not worthwhile because it is insidiously morally problematic. What makes it insidiously morally problematic, according to this objection, is that the interest in genetic knowledge both reflects and further entrenches bionormative prejudice, i.e. a form of prejudice which maintains that the ideal family is one where parents are genetically related to their children. The author responds by showing that even though bionormative prejudice is prevalent in society, it does not undermine the value of people’s interest in genetic knowledge.

Indonesia has experienced incidents of domestic violence involving partners working in professional fields. The domestic violence has become a critical problem in both developed and developing countries. The number of cases of violence against women (VAW) has been increasing every year. Data from Indonesian National Commission on Violence Against Women year 2020 show that there are 431,471 cases. Earlier studies indicated that high academic and professional status achieved by women can reduce VAW. However, cases of domestic violence reveal that such initiatives are not enough and do not exclude academically and professionally empowered women from being victims of domestic violence. The studies indicate that power relations between husband and wife play a crucial role in determining the incidence of domestic violence in a family. This study aims to reveal power relations in dual-career families experiencing domestic violence in Indonesia. The study deploys the qualitative research method and applies the Connell theory on gender and power. This research was conducted in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia, and it involved 44 key informants and 34 supporting informants from the general public. The results reveal three categories of power relations between husbands and wives, who faced domestic violence in dual-career families: male-dominated families, female-dominated families and alternating families (i.e., families where the dominant roles of men as husbands and women as wives can change). This study concludes that the ownership of intellectual and economic resources in themselves does not contain the power relations between husband and wife play a critical role in determining the incidence of domestic violence. cases of domestic violence. Based on power relations between husband and wife, alternating family, driven by women’s resistance, is capable of changing the structure of the family. In alternating families, the power of husband and wife are alternated. There are reversed roles between them. Furthermore, it tends to build a new structure where there is no hierarchical family position between women and men. In addition, the structural change will create an equal and ideal family.

The article presents the results of the study of the conceptual sphere of the media space on the example of the concept “family”. This concept has a high communicative status, which is determined by the special influence of the family as a social institution on the mental space of Russia. The concept has a special meaning for the actualization of key cognitive national stereotypes, and it has axiological content. The analytical algorithm is based on the logic of analyzing the semantic structure of concepts and following the chronological principle of presenting empirical material, which is necessary in this case. It was supposed to rely on the interpretative method of research. The main conclusion: in modern mass media, the traditional semantic structure of the concept “family” meets serious opposition and is subject to rethinking when reformatting the evaluative periphery of the associative field of the concept, the figurative component of its semantic structure. The presented crisis changes are associated with the deactualization of the key axiological meanings of traditional culture, which for many centuries preserved the idea of ideal family relations as strictly repertory. The obvious conflict of the associative zone of the conceptual periphery testifies not so much to the intensity of modernization trends as to the sophistication of their manifestation, which needs to be investigated, since it can provoke a serious crisis of collective identity.

People’s ideas about their future family are influenced by social stereotypes and family traditions. Religious dogmas reflected in the prototext of the Holy Scripture determine Christian family expectations. This article refers to marriage advertisements written by women of different age groups and different social statuses posted on Orthodox and Catholic dating sites. By indicating the desired traits of a partner and/or by identifying themselves, the authors of such texts explicate the formed value attitudes that reflect their idea of an ideal life partner. The space of the internet, characterised by freedom of expression in connection with the realisation of a basic human need, to create a family, leads to the explication of real value ideas about family in the texts of marriage advertisements. Texts of Orthodox marriage advertisements reflect the axiological reality of family relations based on the axiological ideal, such as faith in God, decency, chastity, innocence, kindness, and absence of mercantile interests, which remain a priority for the authors. Also, they still contain ideas about the value of the person’s well-roundedness formed in Soviet society. The pragmatically determined requirements for place of residence and nationality indicate the need to take into account the cultural and economic characteristics of Russia, i. e. its large territory and diversity of nationalities. Catholic marriage advertisements focus on faith and the doctrine of the Catholic Church. The addressers create an image of an ideal family in which spouses support each other. The idyll for them is the promise of a wonderful bright future, family happiness, and the realisation of hopes and dreams. The advertisements manifest gender stereotypes, which is confirmed in the characteristics of the addressee: the addressers do not pay much attention to appearance; for them, internal characteristics are more essential, especially adherence to the Catholic faith, which is closely associated with patriotism.

There are plenty of theories on low fertility, but few studies have aimed to measure and quantify the relative importance of various obstacles to fertility for explaining differences between desired and actual fertility. We aim to fill this gap by using data from the 2018 Fertility Survey (14,556 women and 2.619 men) for Spain, a country with one of the lowest levels of fertility in the world. Data on ideal family size, intended fertility, and reported reasons for not yet having (more) children allow us to estimate the extent of unrealized fertility as well as the reported relative importance of economic, health, and partnership related reasons for unrealized fertility. Results confirm that observed fertility is clearly below desired fertility in Spain. Material reasons - associated with job insecurity, instability, economic resources - are the main reported reasons why women and men do not have the desired number of children. These reasons are followed by those related to partnership (not having a stable partner), and health (difficulties in conceiving). Estimates based on actual fertility, employment, and partnerships shows that having a stable partner between the ages of 25 and 35 is a proximate determinant of the transition to the first child.
