The article explores the possibility of constructing an electric drive control system for the crane movement mechanism with damping of load vibrations. The proposed system includes an adaptive module, which, with the help of an exemplary model, provides control correction based on misalignment signals with changes in the weight of the load and the length of the suspension.

Economic model predictive control in microgrids combined with dynamic pricing of grid electricity is a promising technique to make the power system more flexible. However, to date, each individual microgrid requires major efforts for the mathematical modelling, the implementation on embedded devices, and the qualification of the control. In this work, a field-suitable generalised linear microgrid model is presented. This scalable model is instantiated on field-typical hardware and in a modular way, so that a class of various microgrids can be easily controlled. This significantly reduces the modelling effort during commissioning, decreases the necessary qualification of commissioning staff, and allows for the easy integration of additional microgrid devices during operation. An exemplary model, derived from an existing production facility microgrid, is instantiated, and the characteristics of the results are analysed.

"Nowadays, more than ever, China plays a major role in economic activities in Africa. China competes aggressively with the West for control of the continent's strategic mineral resources. The great red actor considers that the imposition of Western democratic values on Africa is one of the main causes of political instability and economic stagnation, which is why he has chosen to adopt a different attitude which is has proven to be prolific in the context of globalization. The cooperation of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) with China is currently considered by the Congolese people as a safety valve, an insurance against risks. Essentially, the DRC tops the list of China's strategic partners in Africa, and the DRC aims to attract China to help build infrastructure. This cooperation bears the signature of Joseph Kabila (president of the country from 2001 to 2018), his speech being a central point of this research. While the two countries boast of an exemplary model of win-win cooperation, this article aims to explore whether it is really a win-win collaboration or rather China is trying to invent a new order using a cosmetized neocolonialism. Keywords: Africa, Democratic Republic of Congo, China, globalization, mineral ressources, neocoloniaslism, global order "

The Ossola valley (central Alps, northern Italy) is well known to produce a wide range of dimension stones: granites, gneisses, marbles and soapstones. The calcitic Candoglia marble is well-known because it was used in the cathedral of Milan, whereas the dolomitic Crevoladossola marble is widely spread and appreciated on the market. This work focusses on the varieties of the latter, the Crevoladossola marble: it pertains to the Mesozoic metasedimentary cover that tectonically separates the Monte Leone and Antigorio nappes (lower Penninic Units), with a quite steep structural setting and multiphase folding. The location of the quarry (Lorgino di Crevoladossola) is the same of the historic Pavia quarry of the «Fabbriceria del Duomo di Pavia», at the beginning of the 16th century. At present time there is only one active quarry which produces nine commerciali varieties: among these, Palissandro Bluette, Palissandro Blu Nuvolato, Palissandro Classico and Palissandro Oniciato are the most common ones. The quarry front is terraced and the extraction technology only uses diamond wire technology; the large extracted blocks are then selected based on their dimension, textural and chromatic features. The Crevoladossola marble (dolomite content 75 – 90% wt.) has fine grain size and variable colour and texture due to the different amount of phlogopite (10 – 25% wt.) which defines the foliation plane, characterized by abundant isoclinal folds; there are also smaller amounts of quartz, anorthite, chlorite, tremolite, and rare disseminated sulphides. The presence of tremolite initially created doubts about the possible presence of asbestiform phases, however in-depth SEM-EDS analytical investigations excluded the presence of fibers, showing only cleavage fragments or prismatic - acicular crystals. With respect to the Candoglia and Ornavasso marbles, the Crevoladossola marble has markedly anisotropic physical and mechanical properties. In the Archaeological Museum of Milano possibly there is the first evidence of the use of this type of marble, represented by a sculpture of a Roman person (T. Labieno). Since 13th and 14th centuries this material was widely utilized in the local architecture of Domodossola, Baceno and Montecrestese, whereas its use was scarce in Lombardy: the main representative buildings are Arco della Pace in Milano with eight monolithic marble columns (10 m height) and the Duomo in Pavia (since 14th century). The marble is now used for internal facing, furnishings and valuable objects: in 1995 a block of Palissandro Classico was worked to produce the significant sculpture «Uovo della Pace» for UNICEF. The overall good quality of the rock mass and a rational exploitation make this quarry an exemplary model of dimension stone extraction; at the present time, efforts are also being made to exploit production waste, from crushed stone up to sawing sludge.

The people of Ceuta see their town as an exemplary model of coexistence between Christians, Muslims, Jews, and Hindus. This “convivencia” is described as the brainchild of their mayor-president, who funds clients to enact his charismatic vision. Anthropology is sensitive to the moral ambiguities of patron–client relations but has overlooked the role of charisma in the reproduction of patronage reproduction. This article explores the theoretical and political implications of a process by which convivencia-patronage becomes seen as the extension of the patron’s charisma. Obscuring the historical dimensions of power, charisma blocks nuanced discussion toward the colonial legacy of convivencia as a way of controlling suspect minorities. It prevents change by channeling resistance toward the removal of the mayor-president, not the structures that enabled his rise.

In view of ongoing demographic developments resulting in a longer life expectancy of the European population, the creation of “age-friendly” environments represents an initiative picked up by the European Union and its Member States to enable active and healthy ageing. The present study aims at the co-creation of a cross-border framework model to deploy a healthy ageing region linking Austria and Slovenia, building on previous work dealing with the development of an integrated regional ecosystem for active and healthy ageing. A qualitative, community-based action research method based on focus group discussions allowed the development of an exemplary framework model for active and healthy ageing building on cross-border collaboration in the region of Promura. Within the project group, twelve cross-border regional key assets were identified. In the course of further open discussions, an exemplary model for the deployment of a cross-border healthy ageing region was developed, comprising underlying fundamental environmental aspects, regional structures in the field of health and care as well as crosscutting features spreading across all levels. This article presents a promising, strategic co-creation approach on how to span a model on active and healthy ageing across two cross-border regions with similar characteristics and assets.

The final establishment of a unified Yugoslavian state, as the fundamental reason behind the adoption of the Vidovdan Constitution, contributed to the overshadowing of all other characteristics of this act by the unified state system. Although it is one of the common conceptions that the Vidovdan Constitution had to a great extent copied the economic and social provisions of the Weimar Constitution, much less attention was given to the fact that the nature of this constitution, as the highest legal act, was somewhat modified. Comparatively, the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes was amongst the first to transform their constitution from a purely organizational-constitutive act by implementing elements of an economic and social charter as a future-ready program. The constitution is no longer only a constitutive act of a state, it simultaneously serves as an act that transforms the state from a political organization into a social and cultural community. In addition, although the Weimar Constitution was an exemplary model, the framers of the Vidovdan constitution were not plagiarizers, as they were original in many of their provisions. Distinctive constitutional provisions were the result of complex socio-political circumstances at the time that the framers of the constitution had to consider in order for the constitution to be adopted.
