Speaking and writing are two common easiest mediums of communication for human. However, they are not applicable when it comes to handicapped who has hearing or speaking inability. Handicapped often encounter a hard time in expressing their feelings and thoughts to others. Furthermore, there are abundant of product in the market, which uses eye movement, light reflection theory and electrooculogram (EOG) as the input of their control system. These implication aims to ease the disabled to use modern devices. Therefore, a research is done on constructing an EOG Television Control Model to help the disabled to have remote on the television. By using the eye’s electrical signal obtained via vertical and horizontal motion, user can easily control television by rolling or blinking their eyes. Motivation/Background: The main motivation for this research is to look for an alternative solution to help patients especially those with physical disabilities to control television using eyes motions without difficulties. Moreover, selection for the best television monitoring method among all possible solution is also one of the research progress. Method: The most important method being used in this research is by using EOG to detect eyes motion and convert each and every unique motion into a specific command for television monitoring action. Wireless communication device is an additional to allow long range television control using EOG signal. Results: It is shown that the EOG signal for left and right and up and down motion of eyeballs differ with each other. Using the motion and by setting a threshold value to quantized the signal, a better quality television monitoring command is generated. Conclusions: EOG signal allow user especially those with physical disabilities to monitor television with ease by performing unique eye rolling motion.

Closed-circuit television monitoring systems used for surveillance do not provide an immediate response in situations of danger such as armed robbery. In addition, they have multiple limitations when human operators perform the monitoring. For these reasons, a firearms detection system was developed using a new large database that was created from images extracted from surveillance videos of situations in which there are people with firearms. The system is made up of two parts—the “Front End” and “Back End”. The Front End is comprised of the YOLO object detection and localization system, and the Back End is made up of the firearms detection model that is developed in this work. These two systems are used to focus the detection system only in areas of the image where there are people, disregarding all other irrelevant areas. The performance of the firearm detection system was analyzed using multiple convolutional neural network (CNN) architectures, finding values up to 86% in metrics like recall and precision in a network configuration based on VGG Net using grayscale images.

Cinema and television play an important role in mass media. In the cinematic context, the field of cultural studies, which explores what the audience watches, tries to shed light on the psychosocial needs of the target audience and the cultural structure of society. With the use of digital technology in information production, transmission, and storage, as well as the rapid progress, integration, and convergence of information technologies, television is no longer limited to a place, and widespread access to mobile devices is possible. Consequently, both cinema and television have allowed masses of people to become increasingly aware of what is happening in the world. However, the tendency to go to the cinema and watch television emphasizes the psychosocial and sociocultural dimensions of the relationship between audiovisual media and its audience. Going to the cinema and watching television is an experience that young people engage in for various reasons such as escapism, relaxation, education, entertainment, and socialization. Furthermore, viewers employ different tools including television, mobile phones, tablets, the internet, and new media. This descriptive study aims to evaluate the tendencies of the students of the Cinema and Television (CTV) Department of the Fine Arts Faculty of AfyonKocatepe University (AKU GSF) to visit the cinema and watch television. Questionnaires were used as a data collection tool. The survey, Motivation to go to the Cinema, that was developed by Yousry (2009) and Hassan (2015) was consulted to prepare the research questions. The questionnaire was translated into Turkish by Yoğurtçu and Yoğurtçu (2017). Furthermore, the Television Monitoring Motivation Scale, developed by Özarslan and Nisan (2011), was used in this survey. Face-to-face interviews were conducted with students from the AKU GSF Department of CTV. The data were analyzed using descriptive and multivariate statistical techniques (Correspondence Analysis). The results obtained from the analysis of the collected data are presented in related tables and figures.

The geologic-geophysical researches including focused on geological dangers in 2015 captured a coastal zone of the southern hollow of Baikal. The methodical basis of these works is made by lake profile and areal surveillance with application of side location, continuous seismoacoustic profiling, a protsezionny ekholotirovaniye, underwater television monitoring, interpretative sampling and reconnoitering coastal monitoring from a board and from the water area. These forms most often represent openings in Baikal seabed with various shapes, depth and width of disclosure. In many cases the central openings or "craters" of these forms are sources of eruption of gas bubbles. Intensity of this eruption changes from minimum to massive in the form of vertical gas streams. On sonar records these forms are represented as black points or lines. Echo sounding presents it as powerful vertical images "columns" which are often going from ground objects to the water surface and defined these forms as "gas griffins". Big attention considering possible geological risks (connected with mass methane saturation of water) payed to larger forms of a ground relief which are conditionally assigned to group of "pockmark".
