Researchers use ChIP binding data to identify potential transcription factor binding sites. Similarly, they use gene expression data from sequencing or microarrays to quantify the effect of the transcription factor overexpression or knockdown on its targets. Therefore, the integration of the binding and expression data can be used to improve the understanding of a transcription factor function. Here, we implemented the binding and expression target analysis (BETA) in an R/Bioconductor package. This algorithm ranks the targets based on the distances of their assigned peaks from the transcription factor ChIP experiment and the signed statistics from gene expression profiling with transcription factor perturbation. We further extend BETA to integrate two sets of data from two transcription factors to predict their targets and their combined functions. In this article, we briefly describe the workings of the algorithm and provide a workflow with a real dataset for using it. The gene targets and the aggregate functions of transcription factors YY1 and YY2 in HeLa cells were identified. Using the same datasets, we identified the shared targets of the two transcription factors, which were found to be, on average, more cooperatively regulated.

Congenital tooth agenesis is a common anomaly in humans. We investigated the etiology of human tooth agenesis by exome analysis in Japanese patients, and found a previously undescribed heterozygous deletion (NM_002448.3(MSX1_v001):c.433_449del) in the first exon of the MSX1 gene. The deletion leads to a frameshift and generates a premature termination codon. The truncated form of MSX1, namely, p.(Trp145Leufs*24) lacks the homeodomain, which is crucial for transcription factor function.

Subject. This article discusses the issues of transport engineering as one of the priorities of the State. Objectives. The article aims to assess the transport engineering factor effect on the economic development of the area. Methods. For the study, I used the statistical analysis methods, dynamics, comparison, grouping, and analytical methods of information data collection and processing. Results. The article defines transport as one of the main factors influencing the development of the regional economic system. Conclusions. The socio-economic situation of the region against the general background of the country's economic system depends on the state of the region's transportation infrastructure.

In view of the problem of emergency target handling and reasonable attack in the combat process of synthetic detachment, this paper analyzes the main characteristics of emergency target, judges the threat degree of emergency target with “threat factor function”, and controls the output of the solution by solving the objective function of “threat factor function”, so as to ensure that the emergency target with great influence can be handled quickly. By improving the weapon target allocation model and using the solution control strategy, the simulation results show that this method can effectively improve the overall strike efficiency and the processing speed of emergency targets.
