This paper proposed a Circular Polarization (CP) smartphone antenna Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) system with elements of a diamond ring slot for next-generation (5G). The orthogonal positioning of microstrip feed lines is used to achieve polarization and diversity characteristics. The paradigm results show that each port operated with an operating frequency of 3.74 GHz, with the overall system running at 3.84 GHz. Also, the results show that the MIMO system is suitable for operation in a sub-6 band that qualified for 5G smartphone applications.

<p>We report the first example of a neutral spin-delocalized carbon-nanoring radical, achieved by integration of an open-shell graphene fragment phenalenyl into cycloparaphenylene (CPP). We show that spin distribution in this hydrocarbon partially extends from the phenalenyl onto the CPP segment as an interplay of steric and electronic effects. The resulting geometry is reminiscent of a diamond ring, with pseudo-perpendicular arrangement of the radial and the planar π-surface. Remarkably, this geometry gives rise to a steric effect that governs a highly selective dimerization pathway, yielding a giant double nanohoop. Its π-framework made of 158 sp2-carbon atoms was unambiguously elucidated by single crystal X-ray diffraction, which revealed a three-segment CPP–peropyrene–CPP structure. This nanocarbon shows a fluorescence profile characteristic of peropyrene, regardless of which segment gets excited. These results in conjunction with DFT suggest that adjustment of the size of the CPP segments in this double nanohoop could deliver true donor–acceptor systems.</p>

Based on the previously developed mathematical model of the behavior of the multi-kilowatt laser window with an unstable cavity, the case of a two-component output window is considered. The two-component window consists of a transparent polycrystalline diamond ring and a central opaque area separated by a plastic vacuum gasket. The central opaque area is equipped with a cryoaccumulator to reduce heat load. Numerical calculations of thermomechanical processes are performed for such windows used in high-power CO2 lasers. Mathematical model used for the calculations consists of three parts - thermophysical, mechanical and optical. The advantages of using a two-component design with a cryoaccumulator under the conditions of a gas laser operating in the multi-kilowatt power range are demonstrated. The dependences of the maximum output power, temperature distribution and mechanical stresses versus the thickness of the window are obtained. The optimal conditions providing maximum radiation strength and minimum beam divergence are considered.

A design of mobile-phone antenna array with diamond-ring slot elements is proposed for fifth generation (5G) massive multiple-input/multiple-output (MIMO) systems. The configuration of the design consists of four double-fed diamond-ring slot antenna elements placed at different corners of the mobile-phone printed circuit board (PCB). A low-cost FR-4 dielectric with an overall dimension of 75 × 150 mm2 is used as the design substrate. The antenna elements are fed by 50-Ohm L-shaped microstrip-lines. Due to the orthogonal placement of microstrip feed lines, the diamond-ring slot elements can exhibit the polarization and radiation pattern diversity characteristic. A good impedance bandwidth (S11 ≤ −10 dB) of 3.2–4 GHz has been achieved for each antenna radiator. However, for S11 ≤ −6 dB, this value is 3–4.2 GHz. The proposed design provides the required radiation coverage of 5G smartphones. The performance of the proposed MIMO antenna design is examined using both simulation and experiment. High isolation, high efficiency and sufficient gain-level characteristics have been obtained for the proposed MIMO smartphone antenna. In addition, the calculated total active reflection coefficient (TARC) and envelope correlation coefficient (ECC) of the antenna elements are very low over the whole band of interest which verify the capability of the proposed multi-antenna systems for massive MIMO and diversity applications. Furthermore, the properties of the design in Data-mode/Talk-mode are investigated and presented.
