Background: Pink eye disease in goats causes blindness, weight loss, and expensive medical costs, resulting in losses on farmers. Purpose: The purpose of this case study is to provide information regarding the handling of Pink Eye cases in goats in Sawangan Farms. Method: Observation data presented descriptively were compared and discussed with supporting data from literature. Treatment of Pink Eye cases in 36 goats at Sawangan Farm was started by separating the affected goats, then topical therapy was provided with Super Tetracycline HCl 250 mg® in 1% warm orange water. Topical treatment was carried out once a day by spraying 5-10 ml of the solution on both eyes of the goat for a month. Results: Healing of the goat's eye occurs within 2 weeks. Conclusion: The goat's eyes improved and looked clear again after treatment.

Mesoporous silica with cubic structure (MCM-48) was synthesized using Ludox HS40 as silica source and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) as a template. MCM-48 was used to adsorb the antibiotic of tetracycline hydrochloride. An X-ray diffractometer observed the x-ray diffraction pattern of MCM-48 and functional groups observed by a Fourier Transformed Infrared (FTIR) spectrometer. Parameters used to study adsorption were contact time and concentration. The pseudo-second-order was the kinetic order that fitted well with the adsorption of tetracycline HCl. The adsorption of tetracycline HCl on MCM-48 followed the Freundlich isotherm with the adsorption capacity of 0.98 mg/g.

Tetracycline HCl is one of the most commonly used antibiotics in animal feed additives to control disease caused by bacteria. The dosage of antibiotics added to animal feed is sometimes not in accordance with existing regulations, causing residues in the body to be left behind. The purpose of this study was to determine the presence and levels of tetracycline HCl antibiotic residues in the meat and liver of broiler chickens on farms in Lamongan City by using the spectrophotometric method by selecting the maximum wavelength which was carried out by making the absorbance relationship curve and the wavelength of the standard solution at a certain concentration. The results of tetracycline antibiotic residues in boiler chicken meat and liver on the first farm showed that the residual levels of tetracycline HCl were 3,969.10 ± 392.32 ppm and 14,247.74 ± 2,632.63 ppm, on the second farm showed residual levels of tetracycline HCl. 5,470.03 ± 512.76 ppm and 20,464.60 ± 5,985.63 ppm, respectively, and the third farm showed that the remaining levels of tetracycline HCl were 7,032.37 ± 971.99 ppm and 19,232.71 ± 6,404.63 ppm. The results showed that the residual content of tetracycline HCl in broiler meat and liver exceeds the maximum residual content of tetracycline class of antibiotics in meat and milk based on SNI 01-6366-2000 which limits the residue to not more than 0.1 ppm.

Limus (Mangifera foetida Lour.) Is one of the local Indonesian fruits of the anacardiaceae family. Limus contain secondary metabolites that have pharmacological effects, including the kernel waste of the seeds of the fruit. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli on the fraction of kernel seed of limus fruits ethanolic extract in invitro using solid diffusion method with positive control Tetracycline HCl. The extraction process was carried out by maceration method, then fractionation was obtained to obtain the fraction of n-hexane, ethyl acetate fraction and water fraction. Based on the result of the research, the fraction of n-hexane, ethyl acetate fraction, and water fraction of kernel ethanol extract limus fruit seed have antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. The highest activity was shown by fraction of ethyl acetate with minimum killing concentration (KBM) to Staphylococcus aureus was 5% with diameter equal to 4,33 ± 1.17 mm equal to 30,27 μg / mL Tetracycline HCl, and KBM value to Escherichia coli.4% (7.60 ± 0.14) mm equivalent to 26, 04 μg / mL Tetracycline HCl.

Keywords: Antibacterial, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Kernel, M. foetida.

AbstrakTumbuhan sarang semut (Myrmecodia pendens Merr. & L. M. Perry, Aktivitas antibakteri, Pseudomo- nas, StaphylococcusABSTRACTThe ant plant (Myrmecodia pendens Merr. & L. M. Perry) is one of plant applied as tradi- tional medicine. Empirically, the tuber of the ant plant have antibacterial activity. However, the examination of antimicrobial activity from extract of the tuber has never been reported. The research was done to know the activity of antimcrobial againts Gram positive and Gram negatif bacteria such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus, to determine Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) of the tuber, and comparative value antibacterial activity with tetracycline-HCl. The result revealed that the tuber of the ant plant (Myrmeco-dia pendens Merr. & L. M. Perry) has antibacterial activity againts those bacteria. The Min- imum Inhibitory Concentration of extract from the tuber of ant plant to Pseudomonas aeru- ginosa was in range 8,2x103-8,3x103 ppm of concentration, and to Staphylococcus aureus was in range 7,5x103-8x103 ppm of concentration. Comparative value of extract from the tuber of ant plant with tetracycline-HCl againts Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococ- cus aureus were respective 1:.6.709 x 10-4 and :1.038 x 10-5. Phytochemical screening showed that the extract of the tuber contains flavonoid and polifenol. Keywords: Myrmecodia pendens Merr. & L. M.
