The company builds communication and collaboration with suppliers and customers to increase competitiveness in the supply chain flow. The organization's ability to involve suppliers and customers in business activities to achieve efficiency and effectiveness is one of the objectives of supply chain practice. The distribution of questionnaires directly to hotel practitioners was 25 respondents, and 65 respondents obtained the distribution of google form links. The results showed that supply chain practices with supplier relationship management and quality information sharing activities could increase internal and upstream integration and not directly impact downstream integration. Internal integration with data integration activities accurately and coordination between functions on an ongoing basis can affect upstream and downstream integration and green hotel performance. Upstream integration and downstream integration with joint decision activities and planning synchronization with external parties can directly impact green hotel performance. They were increasing the market share and image of the hotel with the implementation of caring for the environment. This research contributes to hotel practitioners adopting practical supply chains in building internal and external integration to increase competitiveness and theoretical contribution to developing supply chain theory and green performance.

The ionized states of molecular analytes located on solid surfaces require profound investigation and better understanding for applications in the basic sciences in general, and in the design of nanobiosensors, in particular. Such ionized states are induced by the interactions of molecules between them in the analyzed substance and with the target surface. Here, computer simulations using COMSOL Multiphysics software show the effect of surface charge density and distribution on the output generation in a dynamic PIN diode with gate control. This device, having built-in potential barriers, has a unique internal integration of output signal generation. The identified interactions showed the possibility of a new design for implementing a nanobiosensor based on a dynamic PIN diode in a mode with surface charge control.

PurposeRapidly changing technological and marketing environments challenge the survival of business organizations. Developing dynamic capability is critical in helping companies respond to today's turbulent environments. Thus, fruitful studies on the antecedents of dynamic capability have been conducted. However, in the context of the supply chain, little is known about the factors that can be harmful to dynamic capability. Drawing on the theory of cooperation and competition, the first purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between independent goal interdependence with suppliers and dynamic capability by focusing on the mediating role of supplier integration. Combining the information processing theory and transaction cost economics with the theory of cooperation and competition, the second purpose of this study is to discuss and test the moderating role of internal integration.Design/methodology/approachUsing a carefully designed questionnaire, a large-scale survey was employed to collect data in China. The senior manager (e.g. president, vice president, chief executive officer [CEO], executive or purchasing manager) of each company was asked to participate in our survey. The final valid sample in our survey consisted of 233 companies. Hierarchical multiple regression statistical analysis and bias-corrected bootstrapping methods were applied to test the correlation, mediation, moderation and moderated mediation relationships between variables.FindingsThe authors found that independent goal interdependence negatively influences dynamic capability through frustrating supplier integration. In addition, the moderated mediation model analysis shows that internal integration weakens the positive direct effect of supplier integration on dynamic capability while neutralizing the negative indirect effect of independent goal interdependence on dynamic capability. The theoretical and managerial implications of these results are discussed.Originality/valueFirst, starting from the goal interdependence and supply chain management perspectives, this research not only is consistent with remote theoretical research that explains why interdependence among organizations influences the capability to enhance competitive advantage but also incorporates relevant internal and external factors that influence dynamic capability. Second, by proposing an innovative boundary factor – internal integration – this study also contributes to adjusting the predictions of the theory of cooperation and competition. Third, focusing specifically on the negative antecedent of dynamic capability can provide a better understanding of the antecedents that cause companies to have weakened dynamic capability.

The author reveals the essence of the concept of "entrepreneurship" and "culture of entrepreneurship" – in general, and in the context of modernization transformations of the second half of the XIX – early XX century. The article emphasizes that the concepts of "entrepreneurship" and "entrepreneurship culture" are contextual while retaining standard features. Views on the essence of entrepreneurship by Josef Schumpeter, Alfred Chandler (founder of business history), Franco Amateur, etc., are analyzed. The author refers to the works of Max Weber, Werner Sombart, Rolf Ruttinger in the analysis of the concept of "entrepreneurial culture". In the context of the study, the author defines the culture of entrepreneurship as synonymous with a new system of norms and symbols, forms, methods of entrepreneurial activity, even a new goal (the new author understands as modern, industrial, as opposed to traditional). Entrepreneurship culture is object-subjective and cannot be reduced to socio-psychological, value or motivational components. It includes a set of rules and tools for solving external adaptation and internal integration of resources. The conclusions noted the key features of entrepreneurial culture – eclecticism, instability, low level of innovation, confrontational style of relations with workers, short-sightedness and prevalence of motives for self-affirmation, in relations with the authorities – dependence. Even though the culture of entrepreneurship depends on specific historical factors, it is still an umbrella term.Key words: business history, history of entrepreneurship, the culture of entrepreneurship, modernization.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to assess the direct effect of supply chain integration on operational performance and the mediating effects of external integration on the relationship between internal integration and operational performance among manufacturing firms.Design/methodology/approach: Quantitative survey research design was adopted. A total of thirty (30) manufacturing firms were sampled using cluster sampling. The data was collected using questionnaires from 317 employees in the procurement, account and administration units of the 30 manufacturing firms. Structural Equation Modeling was used to analyze the direct and mediation relationships.Findings:  The results showed that the relationship between internal integration and operational performance was significantly mediated by external integration. It was established that operational performance could only be achieved when manufacturing firms’ managers pay critical attention to internal and external integration. A Significant positive relationship also exists between supplier integration and operational performance as well as customer integration and operational performance.Originality/value: The unique contribution of the current study is the assessment of the mediating effect of external integration constructs (customer integration and supplier integration) as the mediating variable on internal integration and operational performance.

PurposeThe purpose of this study is to examine the effect of supply chain integration (SCI) in terms of supplier, customer and internal integration on supply chain performance (SCP) and export performance (EXP). The effect of SCP on EXP is also explored. This study further seeks to examine the mediating effect of SCP on the relationship between the types of SCI and EXP.Design/methodology/approachThe population of this study consists of manufacturing companies in different industries in Jordan. Data were gathered using self-administered questionnaires; managers from 271 companies responded to the survey. The study constructs were assessed for validity and reliability, and it was ensured that acceptable levels of these tests were obtained. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was used to test the study hypotheses.FindingsThe findings showed that supplier and customer integration were not drivers of EXP, but internal integration positively impacted EXP. In addition, internal and customer integration positively affected SCP, while supplier integration did not. Also, SCP positively impacted EXP. Furthermore, customer integration and internal integration indirectly impacted EXP through SCP.Practical implicationsManufacturers should establish both intra- and inter-organizational collaborations to improve their performance. Specifically, managers in developing countries need to pay substantial attention to internal integration, as it is the key antecedent of both SCP and EXP. Furthermore, managers must be aware of the essential role of customer integration in improving SCP and subsequently EXP. Therefore, they should make long-term plans to integrate and incorporate key customers. In addition, managers are advised to reconsider their current relationships with suppliers. By failing to take advantage of the valuable expected contribution of supplier integration, manufacturers may lose export opportunities to international competitors.Originality/valueThe present study addresses an evident gap in the available literature regarding the effect of SCI on EXP. It tests a comprehensive model underlining the role of SCP on the relationship between SCI types and EXP. This study is also valuable because it was conducted in a developing country. Generally, manufacturing companies in developing countries face more SC-related difficulties than those in developed countries; these challenges can limit the export abilities of manufacturers in developing countries. The study offers important implications for the managers of manufacturing companies to improve their SCP and, subsequently enhance their EXP.

Purpose In the digital economy, as artificial intelligence applications increase, big data analytical capability (BDAC) plays a crucial role, and intellectual capital is growing in importance. This study aims to examine the possible benefits and effects of intellectual capital, BDAC and integrations on operational performance. Design/methodology/approach This study collected data from firms in Asia, and a total of 257 senior managers completed a questionnaire. Confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling (SEM) is used for statistical analysis. Findings Intellectual capital positively correlates with BDAC, and BDAC positively relates to internal integration but not to external integration. Furthermore, both internal integration and external integration positively correlate with operational performance. This study supports that internal integration is a significant mediator in the influence of BDAC on operational performance. Practical implications First, the authors provide empirical evidence that intelligent capital in intangible resources helps firms to build BDAC. Second, this study stresses the importance of BDAC in business, which enhances the integration of the whole supply chain and results in superior operational performance. Originality/value This is a first attempt from the perspective of intelligent capital and uses SEM to emphasize the relationships among BDAC, supply chain integration and performance based on unique and irreplaceable intangible resources, thus providing a new perspective on the contributing factors of BDAC.

An organization is a social system that includes a complex set of human interactions with the surrounding community, as well as their relationships with one another and with the outside world. If the climate or workplace conditions support the organization's internal integration process, it will function smoothly. All of these components interact in the system to make it work well. The purpose of this study is to see how the relationship between workplace spirituality and organizational commitment to employee performance is influenced by job satisfaction as a moderating variable of workplace spirituality's impact on employee performance. Questionnaires and in-depth interviews were used to collect data from 177 employees of Islamic banks in East Java Province. The Smart PLS analysis tool is used to process the collected data. The study's findings show that workplace spirituality has a positive and significant impact on employee performance, organizational commitment has no impact on performance, and employee contentment can be moderated by enhancing the impact of workplace spirituality on employee performance

In this paper, we consider the problem of how to quantitatively characterise the degree to which a study object exhibits a generalised response. By generalised response, we mean a multivariate response where numerous individual properties change in concerted fashion due to some internal integration. In latent variable structural equation modelling (LVSEM), we would typically approach this situation using a latent variable to represent a general property of interest (e.g. performance) and multiple observed indicator variables that reflect the specific features associated with that general property. While ecologists have used LVSEM in a number of cases, there is substantial potential for its wider application. One obstacle is that LV models can be complex and easily over-specified, degrading their value as a means of generalisation. It can also be challenging to diagnose causes of misspecification and understand which model modifications are sensible. In this paper, we present a protocol, consisting of a series of questions, designed to guide the researchers through the evaluation process. These questions address: (1) theoretical development, (2) data requirements, (3) whether responses to perturbation are general, (4) unique reactions by individual measures and (5) how far generality can be extended. For this illustration, we reference a recent study considering the potential consequences of maintaining biodiversity as part of agricultural management on the overall quality of grapes used for wine-making. We extend our presentation to include the complexities that occur when there are multiple species with unique reactions.

This study consists of independent variables, namely work culture (X1) and work stress (X2) and the dependent variable (Y) is the work effectiveness of employees of PT Trakindo Utama Palembang branch. The results of initial observations and interviews with the human resources division of PT Trakindo Utama, several factors that affect work effectiveness are work culture and work stress. Work culture is a set of assumptions or belief systems, values and norms developed in an organization that is used as a behavioral guide for its members to overcome problems of external adaptation and internal integration. One of the principles of work culture that can be used is the 5S principle which consists of aspects of seiri, seiton, seiso, seiketsu, setsuke which come from Japan and have been widely used in many large companies around the world. Based on the results of interviews with the human resources division of PT Trakindo Utama in addition to work culture which is the influence of work effectiveness, work stress can also affect employee work effectiveness. The cause of stress is anything that causes stress, which is commonly referred to as a stressor. The sampling method was purposive sampling with a sample of 60 respondents with multiple linear regression SPSS software version 26. The results showed that work culture had a positive and significant influence on work effectiveness and work stress had a negative influence on work effectiveness at PT Trakindo Utama.
