Seguin Form Board Test (SFB) is one of the popular tests of intelligence for children in the Indian subcontinent. It is a much sought-after test due to its simplicity, ease of administration and takes less than 10 minutes to arrive at an IQ score. Further, it elicits interest in children, is easy to score and can be administered to even shy, speech impaired, autistic spectrum and/or attention decit and hyperactive children. There are standard norms and to keep up with the Flynn effect, researchers are conducting studies to update normative data to keep up with the times. However, all the available norms in India with respect to SFB, follow incorrect practices, such as, using SFB for children older than 10 years; inappropriate processes, such as, using only the mean value and ignoring standard deviation; and erroneous way of converting interval scale score to ordinal scale score to arrive at the ratio IQ method. These errors have been existing for decades, despite the possibility of having better and appropriate norms that matches the deviation IQ. This article attempts to highlight the pitfalls of adopting the existing norms with appropriate examples and gures. Further, the article proposes a better and more appropriate norms to arrive at an IQ.

The prevalence of temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD) is gradually increasing, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is becoming increasingly common as a modality used to diagnose TMD. Edema and osteonecrosis in the bone marrow of the mandibular condyle have been considered to be precursors of osteoarthritis, but these changes are not evaluated accurately and quantitatively on routine MRI. The iterative decomposition of water and fat with echo asymmetry and least-squares estimation (IDEAL-IQ) method, as a cutting-edge MRI technique, can separate fat and water using three asymmetric echo times and the three-point Dixon method. The purpose of this study was to analyze the quantitative fat fraction (FF) in the mandibular condyle head using the IDEAL-IQ method. Seventy-nine people who underwent MRI using IDEAL-IQ were investigated and divided into 1) the control group, without TMD symptoms, and 2) the TMD group, with unilateral temporomandibular joint (TMJ) pain. In both groups, the FF of the condyle head in the TMJ was analyzed by two oral and maxillofacial radiologists. In the TMD group, 29 people underwent cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) and the presence or absence of bony changes in the condylar head was evaluated. The FF measurements of the condyle head using IDEAL-IQ showed excellent inter-observer and intra-observer agreement. The average FF of the TMD group was significantly lower than that of the control group (p < 0.05). In the TMD group, the average FF values of joints with pain and joints with bony changes were significantly lower than those of joints without pain or bony changes, respectively (p < 0.05). The FF using IDEAL-IQ in the TMJ can be helpful for the quantitative diagnosis of TMD.

This study aims to obtain related information about (1) Exploring and knowing Arabic learning models for non-Arabs, (2) Knowing the differences between the i'rāb al-Qur'an (IQ) method and the conventional method (MK) for non-Arab speakers, (3) Knowing and describing the level of effectiveness of Arabic learning for non-Arabs using the i'rāb al-Qur'an (IQ) method and the conventional method (MK) in Islamic boarding schools. This research includes qualitative research at Al Madinah Islamic Boarding School Class XI MA Nogosari Boyolali Year 2017. The research subjects are the principal, teachers and students. Data collection is done through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique carried out in this study is to analyze interactive model data by interacting between data collection, data reduction, data presentation and data verification. Research results: (1) Arabic Language Learning Model of Madrasah Aliyah Al Madinah Boyolali 2017/2018. The basic method used by the cleric is the bandongan method, which is a collective method (halaqoh) which is conveyed by the translation model in which the cleric reads the Arabic-language book, then translates and explains the rules and wisdom contained in it, while the students listen to the study delivered by the cleric. Learning uses the method of translation rules, delivery with lecturer, question-answer and talaqqi (sorogan). (2) The difference between the IQ method and the conventional method that the IQ method is applied in the boarding school environment in naḥwu-ṣaraf, balāgah learning, and some in muṭāla‘ah lessons. The IQ method is more inviting students to interact directly with the al-Qur'an and Hadith. The IQ method is broader in discussion, while conventional methods are limited to the curriculum. (3) The level of effectiveness of learning Arabic for non-Arabs with the IQ method and conventional methods in Islamic boarding schools that conventional methods are less satisfying for balāgah and muṭāla‘ah lessons, if there is no combination of strategies.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi terkait tentang (1) Mengeksplorasi dan mengetahui model pembelajaran bahasa Arab bagi non-Arab, (2) Mengetahui perbedaan antara metode i‘rāb al-Qur’an (IQ) dengan metode konvensional (MK) bagi penutur non-Arab, (3) Mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan tingkat efektifitas pembelajaran bahasa Arab untuk non-Arab dengan metode IQ dan MK di lingkungan pondok pesantren. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian kualitatif di Pondok Pesantren Al Madinah Kelas XI MA Nogosari Boyolali Tahun 2017. Subjek penelitian dari kepala sekolah, guru, dan siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalah teknik analisis data model interaktif dengan menginteraksikan antara pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data dan verifikasi data. Hasil penelitian: (1) Model Pembelajaran Bahasa Arab Madrasah Aliyah Al Madinah Boyolali Tahun 2017/2018. Metode yang digunakan para ustadz adalah metode talaqqi (sorogan-bandongan) yaitu metode kolektif (halaqoh) penyampaiannya dengan model kaidah-terjemah yang mana ustadz membaca kitab berbahasa Arab, lalu menerjemahkan dan menjelaskan kaidah-kaidah dan hikmah yang terkandung di dalamnya, sementara para santri menyimak kajian yang disampaikan ustadz. Pembelajaran menggunakan metode kaidah-terjemah, penyampaian dengan lecturer (ceramah), dan tanya-jawab. (2) Perbedaan antara metode i‛rāb al-Qur’an dengan metode konvensional bahwa metode IQ diterapkan di lingkungan pondok pesantren dalam pembelajaran naḥwu-ṣaraf, balāgah, dan beberapa di pelajaran muṭāla‘ah. Metode IQ lebih mengajak siswa berinteraksi secara langsung kepada al-Qur’an maupun Hadits. Metode IQ lebih mudah diingat siswa dan lebih luas pembahasannya, adapun MK terbatas dengan kitab kurikulum pegangan. (3) Tingkat efektifitas pembelajaran bahasa Arab untuk non-Arab dengan metode IQ dan MK di lingkungan pondok pesantren bahwa metode konvensional kurang memuaskan untuk pelajaran balāgah dan muṭāla‘ah, jika tidak ada kombinasi strategi.

Objective: The present study investigated the neuropathology of everyday-life executive function (EF) deficits in adults with ADHD with high IQ. Method: Forty adults with ADHD with an IQ ≥ 120 and 40 controls were recruited. Ecological EFs were measured, and eyes-closed Electroencephalograph (EEG) signals were recorded during a resting-state condition; EEG power and correlations with impaired EFs were analyzed. Results: Compared with controls, the ADHD group showed higher scores on all clusters of EF. The ADHD group showed globally increased theta, globally decreased alpha, and increased central beta activity. In the ADHD group, central beta power was significantly related to emotional control ratings, while no such correlation was evident in the control group. Conclusion: The results suggest that resting-state beta activity might be involved in the neuropathology of emotional control in adults with ADHD with high IQ.

The development of mobile technologies very rapidly at this time, can be seen in all areas of human life. It triggers the level of usage of mobile equipment itself, this time in the form of a smartphone gadgets familiar to the adults and children. IQ tests that exist today are still many that are manual and less desirable, especially for the children. With combined by mobile technology and packed into a game, is expected to add to the child's interest and can be used as a means of learning. The test results of 30 respondents, the level of user satisfaction based GUI Display, User Friendly and Final Game IQ Method Using Binet-Simon-Based Mobile, obtained a percentage of 71.31% keselurahan assessment. Aimed at the disadvantage of conventional ip-iq method based on instantaneous reactive power theory, a novel algorithm is presented in this paper. The detection of reactive current is obtained by voltage and current double closed-loop control based on ip-iq instantaneous value. The method is faced to impact load such as motor load increasing or decreasing suddenly. The good of using closed-loop is to make the load current follow the current issued by SVG in real time. That is to say the real-time following of reactive current is implemented. Simulation results verify the validity of the presented algorithm in the paper.

In this paper, the impuissance of traditional ip-iq method in reactive power compensation applications under nonideal mains voltages is illustrated first, and then a novel current reference calculation method for Shunt Active Power Filter (SAPF) based on p-q transformation is proposed. By means of the proposed method, the positive sequence fundamental active current component of the load current can be isolated under distorted and/or unbalanced mains voltages, which makes SAPF be capable of harmonic cancellation and reactive power compensation at the same time under nonideal mains voltages. The effectiveness of the new proposed method is mathematically studied and verified by computer simulation under ideal and nonideal mains voltages.

Active power filters have properties in rapid reflection, better compensation and the ability in dynamic suppression. An aviation series active power filter based on ip,iq method according to the theory of instantaneous reactive power was designed and simulated with PSIM in this paper. Simulation result states that the filter can compensate harmonic voltage sources, consume harmonic current, and it has good dynamic and steady properties. The result gives a way in aviation series active power filter’s design and application.
