The research aimed to investigate the stages of a Machine Learning model process creation in order to predict the indicator over the number of medical appointments per day done in the area of supplementary health in the region of Porto Alegre / RS - Brazil and to propose a metric for anomalies detection. Literature review and applied case study was used as a methodology in this paper, besides was used the statistical software called R, in order to prepare the data and create the model. The stages of the case study was: database extraction, division of the base in training and testing, creation of functions and feature engineering, variables selection and correlation analysis, choice of the algorithms with cross-validation and tuning, training of models, application of the models in the test data, selection of the best model and proposal of the metric for anomalies detection. At the end of these stages, it was possible to select the best model in terms of MAE (Mean Absolute Error), the Random Forest, which was the algorithm with better performance when compared to Linear Regression and Neural Network. It also makes possible to identified nine anomaly points and thirty-eight warning points using the standard deviation metric. It was concluded, through the proposed methodology and the results obtained, that the steps of feature engineering and variables selection were essential for the creation and selection of the model, in addition, the proposed metric achieved the objective of generates alerts in the indicator, showing cases with possible problems or opportunities.

The article deals with the conceptual analysis as a complex of methods of concept analysis. The relevance of the attempt to structure the existing methods is proved by the infant stage of linguoconceptology in modern science. Modern linguistics has not offered a single classical method of conceptual analysis despite a number of works on concept methodology in home and foreign linguistics. The research has been made through the analysis of Ukrainian and Russian linguoconceptoloists’ works. Special attention has been paid to the influence of integration (the general scientific tendency). The article has considered the structure of the concept and has given examples of its analysis. The object of the analysis, which is at the same time one of the “entrances” into concept, has been clarified. The purpose of the analysis has been defined as concept modeling. Distribution of the methods of the conceptual analysis through scientific paradigms has been considered. The relative character of the conceptual analysis chosen and the type of the concept, the researches item of its structure and the researcher’s purpose has been studied. Possible trends of concept studies have been revealed. In general, the article has outlined a range of important issues of conceptual analysis: choice of methods, material researched, methods of structure study, optimal algorithm of concept analysis. The article may contribute to selecting the algorithm of the concept analysis. Conceptual analysis has prospects for further research, as some aspects of concept remain nonberbal.

The article is devoted to revealing the essence of the policy of technological renewal of machine-building enterprises in the efficient functioning of the production system. The policy of technological renewal of machine-building enterprises in the effective functioning of the production system is defined as a set of its components, which contains a number of economic indicators that characterize the company's ability to develop new or improved technologies in production. It is proved that it is due to the constant introduction into production of new products, equipment and technologies, constant reduction of all types of costs, improving the quality characteristics of technologies to ensure the effective functioning of the production system. An algorithm for selecting and implementing a policy of technological renewal of machine-building enterprises in the effective functioning of the production system, which provides for the implementation of the following stages: identification of technological renewal policy goals, strategic analysis, choice of technological renewal policy, implementation of technological renewal policy, its adjustment. The requirements to be met by the process of selection and implementation of the policy of technological renewal of machine-building enterprises in the efficient functioning of the production system are determined. Strategic measures have been formed to implement the policy of technological renewal of machine-building enterprises in the effective functioning of the production system, based on the following components: production, scientific, personnel, financial, investment and marketing. The main tasks that are necessary to minimize the impact of risk in the implementation of the policy of technological renewal in the enterprise are formed. It is proved that the development of a mechanism of technological renewal at a machine-building enterprise, which will take into account the most important aspects of the enterprise, will ensure the effective functioning of the production system. Carrying out the policy of technological renewal of machine-building enterprises determines not only its efficiency, but also helps to identify both real and potential opportunities of the enterprise to take measures to enhance technological development, improve the competitive position of the enterprise and increase its revenues.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to analyze the theory and implementation of dual branding. The authors explore whether dual branding is a positive choice for two hotel brands belonging to the same firm and operating under the same roof, in this case, a Wyndham and a Wyndham Garden branded property. Design/methodology/approach A case study methodology was employed. In-depth interviews were conducted with managers regarding their decisions and implementation of a dual branding strategy. Findings The authors reveal the organizational, operational, technical, marketing, financial, economic and technological challenges experienced before, during and after the dual branding transition. Moreover, they reveal the results of the implementation and its consequences to the hotel and its customers. A conceptual model is presented with the goal of assisting and facilitating the investigation, analysis, choice and implementation of dual branding by hoteliers. Originality/value The present research expands the existing body of knowledge, bridges the theory and practice of branding in the lodging sector, advances dual branding theory and provides insightful implications for scholars and managers alike.

The paper outlines the complex of related models and decision making support methods based on expert knowledge in strategic management of an engineering enterprise. Represented models are considered to be multi-purpose ones; these models can be used for any engineering enterprise. The application of multi-purpose models increase quality and reasonableness of strategic decisions at the stages of strategic analysis, choice and control.

The objective of this research was to assess whether college students, classified as Digital Natives and Digital Immigrants, show different behavioral styles and adoption profiles in relation to technology. To do so three measurement scales (Technological Origin - OTE, Adoption Profile - PAD and Innovator Behavioral Style - ECI) were used and to identify the causal relationships among concepts, attitudes and processes of technology adoption among students. The data analysis choice was based on structural equation model (SEM) variance based approach or partial least squares (PLS-SEM) using the SmartPLS 2.0 software. The general model was tested, comprised by the constructs of the three scales and then a variable which characterizes the respondent’s generation was introduced as moderator. As a result it is possible to state that for the concepts of Digital Native and Digital Immigrant are lacking empirical foundations, simply serving as a rhetorical figure, of easy acceptance and assimilation, but unable to substantiate the existence of a phenomenon or generations effect on the process of diffusion and technology adoption, unlike what is commonly proposed in the literature.

Research idea – on the basis of the folklore research materials to promote development of ethnographic style and its inclusion in Latvian clothing culture. Aim of the research: to study Kurzeme folk costumes from different perspectives and based on insights from the research to create a set of dress variants with ethnographic elements, colour combinations/compositions, interesting elements/components of clothing and today’s needs. It could be one way of promoting the the sense of belonging to Latvians. Methods: cultural-historical material research, ancient and Kurzeme region folk costume analysis, choice and selection of interesting elements, modern dressing style analysis, and costume design creation, practical work. Result: creation of one’s own design style, based on ethnographic-style options.
