Abstract The buildup processes of the light-induced states (LISs) in attosecond transient absorption spectroscopy are studied by solving the time-dependent Schrödinger equation and compared with the quasistatic Floquet theory, revealing a time lag of the maximal shift and strongest absorbance of the LIS with respect to the zero delay that is referred to as the buildup time. We analytically derive a scaling law for the buildup time that confirms the numerical results over a wide range of detunings. Our theory verifies the commonly accepted scenario of nearly instantaneous response of matter to light if the pump field is blue-detuned, but some differences are found in the near-resonant and red-detuning cases. Implications of the buildup time in petahertz optoelectronics are discussed.

Study of initial transmission effect on performance of saturable absorber material with Er+3 doped fiber laser was studied. Cr+4: YAG used as a saturable absorber (SA) in the study. Software computer program buildup in this study for numerical solving of rate equations model by Rung - Kutta –Fehlberg method. The study reported that the maximum optical bleaching, Threshold population inversion density are occurs at earlier buildup time of passive Q-switched, and the pulse reaches high power whenever SA characterized by low initial transmission. The study explains that related to the effect of SA initial transmission on the number density of photons feedback in resonator of laser system.

We demonstrated a 1.1-µm band extended wideband wavelength-swept laser (WSL) that combined two semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs) based on a polygonal scanning wavelength filter. The center wavelengths of the two SOAs were 1020 nm and 1140 nm, respectively. Two SOAs were connected in parallel in the form of a Mach-Zehnder interferometer. At a scanning speed of 1.8 kHz, the 10-dB bandwidth of the spectral output and the average power were approximately 228 nm and 16.88 mW, respectively. Owing to the nonlinear effect of the SOA, a decrease was observed in the bandwidth according to the scanning speed. Moreover, the intensity of the WSL decreased because the oscillation time was smaller than the buildup time. In addition, a cholesteric liquid crystal (CLC) cell was fabricated as an application of WSL, and the dynamic change of the first-order reflection of the CLC cell in the 1-µm band was observed using the WSL. The pitch jumps of the reflection band occurred according to the electric field applied to the CLC cell, and instantaneous changes were observed.

Inventory models are effectively used as control tool in most of the inventory control tools. The current study deals with the inventory production model for non momentary deteriorating items. To developed the mathematical model holding cost is considered as time and demand dependent. The items does not start to deteriorate as soon as it enters into the stock. During stock buildup time demand is assumed to be inventory dependent. Optimum solution has been find out by using differential calculus. Results indicate that total inventory has a major influence of inventory consumption parameter.

We have investigated switching properties and especially pulse shape preservation in the process of all-optical switching. To this end, we made two different designs of all-optical switches based on two-dimensional (2D) photonic crystal (PC) waveguides with different dispersive properties and micro-resonators with different quality factors. We realized numerically that all-optical switching without or with marginal temporal pulse distortion can be obtained under precisely chosen conditions on pulse duration and detuning. In particular, the former has to be approximately 2.5 times longer than cavity buildup time and the latter has to be equal to one full width at half maximum of the cavity transmission spectrum.

The goal of this study is to develop a heuristic part separation algorithm for assembly-based design in Additive Manufacturing (AM). The objective is to minimize the total processing time including both buildup time and assembly time. In the proposed algorithm, the part separation is recursively conducted until the number of assemblies reaches a threshold value. The proposed method helps designers determine the proper number of assemblies and their buildup orientations. A numerical example is provided to illustrate the application of the algorithm.

Recently, the wide discussion about Higgs-factory design again returns to problem of high energy polarized electrons and positrons. It’s good known the radiative beam polarization at LEP-collider. It was obtained after spin resonance suppression at [Formula: see text] pick, but didn’t appear at energies above 70 GeV due to an enhancement of unavoidable depolarization effects. We examine in this paper various ideas for radiative polarization at TLEP/FCC-ee and formulate some estimates for the polarization buildup time and the asymptotic polarization. Using wigglers, a useful degree of polarization (for energy calibration), with a time constant of about 1 h, may be possible up to the threshold of W pair production. At higher energies such as the threshold of Higgs production, attaining a useful level of polarization may be difficult in a planar ring. With Siberian Snakes, wigglers and some imagination, polarization of reasonable magnitude, with a reasonable time constant (of not more than about 1 h), may be achievable at very high energies.
